The hotel was fairly quiet and I slept well so that’s a plus but like someone mentioned there is a rooster somewhere nearby crowing early in the morning. The checkin was efficient but not that friendly. Not rude, just not that inviting. The elevators were quick which is more than can be said about a lot of hotels. The room was clean and the ac didn’t make a lot of noise so that was a plus. The internet was quicker than most hotels also. The decor was typical of a hotel and not that impressive. The breakfast was reasonably decent. I had an omelette which was tasty but they forgot the toast and potatoes. Overall an ok place to stay but there are one or two better properties in town.
Beautiful view of the pool from my balcony. I wish the temperature had cooperated so I could have enjoyed it. Slept comfortably each night. Hot water and nice large shower. I did enjoy the beauty as I put in my exercise walking around the property. I would have given five instead of four but there was a bartender that was extremely rude to several in our group.
Many people on tripadvisor want to make sure you book this hotel and not the older Holiday Inn Express. This hotel is newer, but when we checked in the woman checking us in took a long time ,it seemed like she was really struggling with the computer, the address was wrong on my check-in form (not the correct city or state), she gave us only one key I had to ask for another one. When we got to our room the heater was roaring like a mac truck was bearing down on us. My husband tried to adjust it, but we had to call the front desk and ask to be moved to another room. The new room was quiet. There is no free coffee in the lobby, we did manage to find some free cookies and punch. We had the breakfast buffet $9.00 per person. I probably won't ever be in Dothan again, would probably drive a little farther and stay in a different city.
The service is terrible. Have stayed before and had much better experience. Restaurant staff rude and incompetent. Front desk staff were the same. They checked me into a room that was occupied by a man getting out of shower naked. Hardly an apology blamed on housekeeping. Ordered room service so I thought they never brought to me called to check on it and they said to come down and get didn’t know I wanted room service. Tried ordering waffles for breakfast but told no berries or whip cream. Server was rude! This place needs new management. Oh last thing the front desk guy was outside smoking when I came to Check in. That says enough right there.
Robert, the gentleman that checked us in was very efficient. He even called to make sure we were happy with our room. He noted that were platinum elite, and upgraded us. We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking a beautiful pool. They had a restaurant and bar. One problem no free breakfast! They did offer an 8$ breakfast.
I could not stay connected to the internet all week. All night there was chickens crowing from the property behind the hotel. If you stay there don’t stay on back side if you want to sleep. The room was clean and comfortable. The morning coffee would choke a horse it was so strong. The pool looks beautiful but this time of year we couldn’t use it.
So clean. Exceptional and would stay here anytime I'm in town. The staff was very helpful. This hotel appears to be new. There was a large group who was very loud but staff was kind enough to put us in a room away from their noise.
We stayed at this location recently! This is not the place you want to stay! Not only is the room expensive, but you have to BUY your breakfast if you plan on eating there! I think the breakfast is someone around 9-10$! The room was just okay.
My husband and I are traveling and needed sleep, we stopped at several hotels right in Dothan. We checked the rooms before checking in, for the sake of a few more dollars, just go here. It clean, comfortable, nice pillows. Very happy we chose this hotel. Only downside is no free breakfast.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Dothan recently. We were disappointed from the very beginning. When we checked into our room there was some type of liquid on a side table and a white stain about the size of a quarter, on a side chair. One of the housekeepers just happened to be in the hall and came in to look. She got a tissue and dried off the table, scratched her fingernail at the chair stain and said it was a dried stain and didn't bother to try to remove it. Our television remote didn't work properly and we could not get any channel numbers to display, plus the channels were not in any type of order. The front desk told us we needed a universal remote but that they did not have any available. They gave us the option of changing rooms but after six hours on the road we had already unpacked and didn't want to move. The front desk managers didn't seem to care (Adam and Robert). The third morning we were there we left word for the manager and they took down our message and room number but she never came or called. We inquired at the front desk for the next TWO mornings and were told that they were working on the problem. We had the Privacy sign on the door but no one ever called nor left anything under the door. The TV was finally changed the morning we checked out. Overall, the room needs a thorough cleaning from the dust ruffle to the bathroom shelves. There is the beginning of mold on the ceiling over the tub. I will say that the breakfast buffet was good, with fresh fruit every morning, however I will NOT stay there again!
