Courtyard by Marriott Dothan3.0 out of 5.0

We drove in to Dothan for a concert and really only used the room for a few hours total. I actually picked the hotel because of all the great reviews I read regarding the staff and how they treated people who came in from Florida during the last hurricane. Those Floridians were right, the staff was friendly warm and funny! I checked in using the mobile app and our room was ready when we arrived. Our room had a balcony and the warm, contemporary style of the room was very inviting. We were able to rest for a couple of hours before the concert and because the hotel is right across the parking lot from an Applebee's we were able to get a nice late evening meal before turning in. We left at 5am the next day, so we were unable to enjoy any of the hotel amenities. Unfortunately, even though we checked in at 3 pm, the Bistro was never open, even though there was a small sign on our floor by the elevator that said they were open everyday; that was a bit disappointing. The closed Bistro aside, we had a very pleasant stay and will definitely stay again if we every have reason to be back in Dothan.
I have been staying here at the Courtyard for years and the customer service is top notch. Every hotel employee knows me by my first name and go out of there way to say hi, making it a very welcoming environment. The front desk staff does a great job getting to know its customers. I have experienced this myself, as they all know where I'm from and what I like to do when I'm not working. They go over and beyond to make sure my profile room preferences are met every stay. It's the little things that make a difference. I have gotten to know Leah Cooper, the DOS, over the years and she is absolutely amazing to work with. She goes out of her way to ensure my groups accommodations are met every time we are there. If you have an upcoming business meeting you need to plan, I suggest reaching out to Leah, for she is the woman to make it happen in Dothan. Overall, I have always had a positive experience at this property in Dothan. There are several properties to choose from but the employees commitment to service keep bringing me back.
Stayed on the second floor. Floors, walls, appear to be made of plywood, I could hear and feel everything going on around me, above me and outside my door. Footsteps, people dragging bags, kids running. No complementary breakfast, not even for Marriott gold/platinum members. No complementary coffee either, amenities standard in a Towneplace suites, also by Marriott, also located in Dothan, and also the same price per night. Cutting my stay early, and changing hotels. I see no reason to stay here. Cleanliness: the blanket in the closet had dog hairs on it. There was a hair on the mirror, and mold/hair inside the coffeemaker in the room. The staff is friendly, and the hotel is located close to places to eat.
Hotel was ok need to upgrade carpet in the hallways. All in all It Was a comfortable stay. Ms. Mary Sanders was great, she was very friendly and professional. She has great customer service skills. Thank you people like her would bring me back.
This a business stay and, surprisingly, the corporate travel website did not opt for Courtyard, and for once it may have been right. The room was fine. The bathroom layout, as noted by others, wasn’t logical and the door to the toilet seemed ill-positioned and hit the floor when you tried to close it. The sink area is pretty small and only one sink. A/C worked well and wasn’t overly loud. The TV had a very short list of channels available and the reception wasn’t very solid. There is no free breakfast here, only a limited slate of paid options from the “Bistro” downstairs. There was one muffin, one pastry, and a couple of tired looking bagels available…..not very appetizing. Another issue with Marriot…..no more free newspapers. I used to look forward to reading the paper while I drink my coffee. Not anymore. If you’re a Marriot rewards member you might be more inclined to stay here. If you’re not, there are probably better options. Not Recommended.
Room was clean but poor lay out you could no open the shower door and the bathroom door at the same time. The bathroom door hit rubbed the over head light in the bathroom. Sink was plugged. Maintenance called and fixed. As a platinum member with Marriott this was Motel 6 quality. There is a new Holiday inn near by check it out!
they claimed it's marriott - so i guess no other hotel b4 and after got the message. i like to read the newspaper with my breakfast!! Rooms are nice, gym is good, lots of restaurants around. It is hard to find it - you see it but how do you get there? Still a good place in Dothan.
The Courtyard Dothan is a perfect stop over for those traveling with a family through South Alabama. We were on our way to the beach with 3 kids in tow and this was one of the only hotels in Dothan with an indoor pool. Room was clean and spacious, the staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not included but the hotel is right next to Atlanta Bread Company which was perfect for the kids. Only knock I'd give it is the indoor pool temperature was frigid. I'm not being spoiled, i'm fine with a cool water temperature but this was like 70 degrees at best. Pretty cold for a swimming pool for the kids.
Adam took his time out to quickly help a struggling Octagenarian with his computer so that I could get my information for my REAL ESTATE CONTRACT out and printed so I could get it to my client tonight !!!!! WHAT A HELP, WHAT A MENCH !!!!!
We stayed at the Courtyard Dothan on July 1, 2017. The hotel is back behind a Taco Bell and Applebee's and it is very quiet. Checking in was a breeze and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the back side of the hotel facing the courtyard and it was super quiet and roomy. We had two queen beds which were very comfortable. The room was spotless which was nice. I highly recommend the Courtyard Dothan.
