Our room was dirty poorly maintained.the pillows were disgusting and I had to wet a facecloth to wipe off the mountain of dust off a lamp. The room felt damp not enough power sockets to charge phone. We were woken up at 6am with workers leaving their rooms and starting their vehicles noisily. Breakfast was disappointing.
This is the second time my wife and I have visited Dothan International Hotel the rooms are pleasant clean and very reasonable we will stay anytime we are traveling in the area and I would recommend Dothan International to anyone thanks for your hospitality ( former B&B owner) P.S. All rooms are non smoking
For the price, you cannot beat this place. It is clean and the desk guys really nice. They don't have a hair dryer or shampoo/conditioner bottles. It is safe and out of the hustle and bustle of the city. The hot mineral pool was excellent. For $49 ..AAA discount accepted..hard to beat!
I was in the area to work Hurricane damage for several weeks. Dothan National was booked when I first got to the area and now I know why. It is very popular with locals and seasonal workers for good reason, it’s Very clean, Well maintained, well managed, quiet and has a good golf course. It also has a Great bar and grill....$2.50 for a 12 oz....all day baby! Staff is very personable and sharp. I was a member at Club in Big D, that said, both of these guys are Country Club Management material. Rooms have a original historic feel and are very comfortable and clean. Main building has several large rooms that fit the bill for group meetings and events. (Will post some pics). Great spot for a long term Disaster Ops HQ. Golf course, traditional layout, great flow and bones. This course could be Really Really Good with a minimal changes to greens, bunkers and pathways. I would not change hole layout at all. Fairway flow is really good. This course could become Great option for RTJ players. I Really like this place. If the Fam and I need a stop over....I will call here.
Low cost, low quality hotel situated on beautiful golf course. Older facility. Sink had rust. Hard to turn shower completely off. Ice machine in back was continually dumping ice onto sidewalk that provides access to front lobby and stairs to second floor.
Dothan National is a good stop over for anyone coming from the north and going to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach or New Orleans. Rooms are inexpensive, clean and homey. Golf course is worth the time to play and stay. Golf, dinner and overnight stay packages are available and are under $100. Quiet, out of the way place with a hot springs which is interesting and worthy a dip in the pool. Not a destination, but a good, quick stopover for golfers.
Surprised at modest review rating. We always liked this property (We stayed here under various property names through the years). Nothing swanky. However, rooms are clean, the place is quiet, you’re near Chiply and Graceville, FL. And, we must mention the indoor hot pool/mineral spa- it’s very nice. Great senior AARP rates.
Hey ok its a older place with a remodel of sorts lately, the room was huge (think we got an upgrade as I only saw one large room) price was good and got a Vet discount on check in. Everything was clean good parking quite had a good breakfast in the morning included. This is a good spot to stop on the way to PCB as it is about 2 hours out and allows for a good 930 beach arrival. The course looks good and We may try a weekend there later in the fall once its cooler in TN. Nice bar pools etc.
My husband and I were passing through Dothan and decided to try this hotel. Very glad we did. Matt, who checked us in was super friendly and even took the time to give us a little history of the hotel and grounds. The decor is very cute, it's really like stepping back in time. You can tell this place is not in its prime, but if you use your imagination you can imagine that when it was new, it must have been a fancy place. Yes, it's old, but that is part of its charm. Matt gave us a suite that included a full kitchen, dining table, sofa, and seperate bedroom and bath with a king sized bed. Tastefully decorated with comfy furniture and a comfy bed. It was quiet and very clean. We were only going to stay one night, but after seeing the room and being made to feel so welcome, we stayed an extra night. Enjoyed a couple of beers in the small bar, along with some pretty darned good jalapeno poppers. It's not fancy, but the people are friendly, the mineral pool was warm and relaxing, and I'm kind of sad to be leaving. Stay here. It's a great place for the price. Thanks for the awesome room and the welcome beers Matt. We might have to make another trip up here sometime.
Outdoor pool closed for private event. Not fair to paying customers.. pool should be public to all customers.. mineral pool was very hot and the room was hot.. This issue needs management involved.. a hotel should never be closed to paying customers..
