The hotel website advertises that this is a "Pet Friendly Hotel". NOWHERE on the website does it indicate there is a $100 pet fee. I mentioned this at check-in and the person at the desk said that it was on the website. It is not. As my deposit was non-refundable (48hr cancel policy which I also didn't like) I ended up staying. They did cut the fee in half - but there was a fee nonetheless. I told them that I would likely have stayed somewhere else had they been honest about having a pet fee, which dramatically increases the cost of a one night stay. Other than that, I had no complaints. But because of this non-disclosed cost, I likely will not stay here again.
Spent a considerable length of time at this hotel and interacted with the staff on a daily basis.Wonderful staff that goes above and beyond the extra mile. The following people were so amazing: Pam, Paul, Chris, Tim, Danielle, Wanda, Millie, Lakisha, and Karina!!
I am so pleased to have stayed at Residence Inn Marriott, 186 Hospitality Lane in Dothan. I visited with my husband, who is working in Dothan. The Residence is extremely clean. I especially enjoyed the breakfast. Jennifer, who masters the breakfast area, was so professional and attentive. She made sure our breakfast was enjoyable. There is a plethora of items to enjoy. I loved the eggs, waffles and fresh fruit to name just a few. The front desk staff was welcoming as well. We were greeted warmly and they went out of their way to make sure our needs were not only met but exceeded. What I especially like is the location. It is so close to shopping and restaurants. The room is more like an apartment than a hotel room. Full kitchen, with full size appliances, as well as a dining area. The kitchen even has burners, dishwasher and a disposal. I appreciate the sectional in the living area, along with a swivel television. So you can watch t.v. in both the living area and bedroom. The bedroom is spacious and the king size bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom area is wonderful: a full size sink, lots of storage space, a large granite counter and a shower that has great water pressure. The work station/desk came in handy when my husband worked at home. I say “home”, because that’s what it felt like. Amenities are great!! The grill area even has a fireplace. You can borrow grill tools etc. The exercise area is really nice. The pool has lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas as well. They even have pool towels available by the entrance. The most surprising amenity? They offer to pick up and deliver groceries. You give them your list in the a.m. They shop and deliver your items that evening. They just bill your room. No additional charge. Super convenient. I can’t wait to come back and stay in the future. Of course, the entire staff makes this place exceptional. Very friendly and so professional!
I simply can't reconcile recent reviews with our experience here. Our room was nice but our reception was dreadful, with not a word of welcome and a very long performance to process a reservation already made. I have Marriott Gold status but I can only assume that I was the first person the receptionist had ever checked in and that she had not had any training at all. Breakfast food was unacceptably poor, for example cold eggs and black bananas. I can say that the price to stay in Marriott Reward points was very cheap, so I would stay here again but check in on-line and have breakfast anywhere else but here.
Long story short - I got to the hotel after a long day's travel from Chicago. And realized I had screwed up and booked the Courtyard in Dothan vs the Residence Inn. My boss had booked the Residence. Tiffany was entirely professional, pleasant, friendly, sweet and terrific to work with. She fixed the reservations and got me converted over, the whole time with a smile on her face. Trust me - this would be rare and practically unheard of in Chicago. If the person would've helped me, they would've been rude and obnoxious at best and I wouldn't have even bothered asking to change things. Tiffany - your boss and Marriott are lucky to have you and I'll recommend the Residence Inn to everyone.
My family makes it a point to always stay in this exceptional hotel. The staff demonstrates that they are a leader in customer service for any hotel around. It is very difficult to highlight just one person at this hotel for the phenomenal service they provide. My family appreciates everyone at this hotel. We clearly recognize that they care about our comfort and needs, whether it be at breakfast, our room, or general questions. I will not go anywhere else. Thank you once again for the wonderful service for our stay during the holidays.
First off, hats off to this property. From the warmth of the welcoming fire pit, to the amazing spinach dip, free beverages Mon-Wed and the overall feeling of home, I cannot say enough about the fine ladies and gentlemen who keep this hotel in top notch fashion. I spent 24 nights here in Nov-Dec 2018 as part of a disaster relief effort in southern Georgia and felt at home each evening I returned. Mr. Charles greeted me every morning at 4:30am with a "Good Morning" and would always fill my bag with ice to put in my cooler. The ladies at the front desk and in the kitchen were always friendly as could be and offered recommendations for laundry mats, places to eat, quickest routes, printed documents for me, prepared delicious meals, etc. So a big thank you to Pam, Tiffany, Christine, Katelyn, Destiny and Irene. I'd be remiss if I didn't include the grill cook and I apologize that I didn't get his name but he makes a dandy burger and hot dog. Grilled chicken sandwiches were a welcomed treat after a long day in the field and the cheesecake wasn't too bad either. All in all, the referenced folks put the hospitality in Hospitality Lane. Not to mention, if you look closely, you'll see one of the ladies pulling another shift at the local Target store, just another testament to the effort these people put forth. I truly appreciated everyone of them. The location is great and the amenities rank up there with highest class of hotels. Washers and dryers do a great job on laundry and are cheaper than the local laundry services. Laundry baskets are provided and laundry supplies are available at the front desk for a minimal fee. I highly recommend this property. My only regret is that the weather was too cold to enjoy the pool and basketball court.
I am here on business due to Hurricane Michael. The staff is so caring, helpful, and compassionate a genuinely nice staff. The ladies that prepare the breakfast gives the food an extra touch of a home cooked breakfast with a nice variety to choose from .(You have to taste the Grits). Nice and quiet, low traffic, shopping, dining, movie theater across the street. Nice open area to walk your pet. Tiffany thank you for the delicious subs, you truly mixed it up in the traditional way that I am a custom to from Residence Inn. I wish I could mention others by name but you know who you all are. (Housekeepers) entire staff. Thank you. Sincerely
We visited for 1 night on the way back from Panama City where we had dropped off supplies for those ravaged by Hurricane Michael. The facility had been recently renovated and the interior and exterior of the property was very nice. I have status with Marriott and this property is really above average. The staff from Chris and Caitland at the front desk to Chrystal and Jennifer in the breakfast area were helpful and caring to our every need. This property reflects positively on the Marriott brand and should not be missed if the opportunity arises to stay overnight in Dothan.
We were ( and still are) displaced from Panama City because of hurricane Michael. Never in my life have we encountered such caring, helpful, compassionate, and genuinely nice staff/ employees as we have here. Of course we have to mention them by name. Thank you so much for your kindness William, Tiffany and Chris and Pam.The sweet sweet ladies that take care of breakfast, and Rhonda and the entire staff who works so hard as well. We wish we could mention the others by name but you know who you all are! They have been patient with our very loud Beagle who’s world got turned upside down as well. We appreciate your kindness more then you will ever know. Thank you. Now about the hotel itself: very clean, comfortable beds, laundry ( we originally only had enough clothes for 2 days) was very inexpensive, $2 per wash and $2 per dry. Well maintained and just the best. We will be here for a while as we have been told our power and water may not be restored for awhile. Thank you again Dothan Residence Inn!!
