East Bennett Avenue

If you’re traveling to Cripple Creek to test your luck at one of the city’s 12 casinos, you’ll want to find accommodations close to East Bennett Avenue, where all the casinos are located. If you don’t want to stay at a casino, the Last Dollar Inn is within walking distance. The small inn is housed in a building that dates back to 1898 and features rooms with fireplaces and hot tubs. Billy Bronco’s Casino encompasses four historic buildings along East Bennett Avenue. The casino’s hotel is located just down the block from the casino and has rooms that feature queen-size beds and flat-screen televisions. Also located on East Bennett Avenue, the Double Eagle Hotel & Casino is one of Cripple Creek’s largest casinos. Guests can choose from a standard room or a suite and enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning. If you’re staying in the downtown Cripple Creek area, you can expect to pay between $85 and $180 per night for your accommodations. The Double Eagle Hotel & Casino also offers a Presidential Suite for $500 per night. Staying in or near the casinos puts you in close proximity to most of the city’s other attractions. You’ll find the Stallions Arcade, Pizzeria, and Mini Golf Course and the Old Homestead House Museum on East Myers Avenue. Located 6 miles from Cripple Creek’s downtown area, Victor is a great place to stay if you want to go hiking or biking, pan for gold, or learn about the area’s history. You’ll find the Fortune Club and the Victor Hotel on Victor Avenue. Both hotels are housed in historic buildings. The Fortune Club building dates back to 1899 and was once a brothel. The Victor Hotel also dates back to 1899 and was once the city’s bank. It features Victorian-style décor, authentic 1890s brick architecture, cable television, and free wireless Internet. If you enjoy mining history, you should stay at Thompson Cabin. The authentic miner’s cabin has been refurbished with antiques but still has modern amenities like satellite television. In addition to hiking and biking, you can explore the Victor Lowe Thomas Museum and Victor’s Gold Camp Ag & Mining Museum during your trip. If you want to tour a real gold mine and pan for gold, visit the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine on Highway 67, between Victor and Cripple Creek.
