Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel

I got an incredibly cheap rate to stay here, especially considering that it included one of the biggest full Irish breakfasts I have ever encountered. Room was comfortable for a 3-star hotel and staff were helpful. Just be aware that everything for food and drink closes down by 9.30pm - but the whole village seems to go to bed early!

Had a groupon voucher to stay in this hotel for 2 nights B&B with afternoon tea. Upon entering this hotel I was impressed with the modern bright spacious feel to the reception area. This was also the bar and afternoon tea area. Unfortunately this modern feel was not continued upstairs to the bedroom which were very dated, red and yellow. Both mattresses were too small for the bed bases, were not at all comfortable and were very unstable on the bed. The bathroom however was nice with a good shower. Breakfast included was served in the cafe joined to the hotel with a wide selection of breakfasts made to order which i thought was a perk in comparison to most hotel buffet breakfasts. There is a gym in the hotel which had an impressive amount of equipment.

Visited the Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We checked in early in the day and treated ourselves to afternoon tea (with a little prosecco on the side) - and I must say the experience was simply delightful (and one I fully intend to repeat as soon as possible!) The Foyer of the hotel is large and beautifully appointed with an eclectic and charming mix of old and new furniture, accessories and art . The teapots and cups were so pretty and displayed to great advantage in a large glass vintage cabinet the foyer area. We were a grouo of 6 who weren't alone in our 'afternoon tea-ing' there is an intimacy and old world charm to the space that meant we felt very special and well attended too :) The staff were friendly and charming. The bedrooms were spacious and clean. the shower was great - the beds comfortable and the pillows were perfect (2 per bed & I'm very fussy about my pillows) We breakfasted in the dining room attached to the cafe adjacent to the hotel reception. This is a lovely quirky space with a nice energy from the 'pop-in' locals supporting the space too. Cook shop in your cafe madame ? - whats not to like ? The breakfast recipe was extensive and we six each had something different - from eggs benedict to pancake stacks, chia seeds to the full Irish there was something for everyone. There is no doubt that I'll be back - and soon !

Hard to believe this gorgeous hotel only has a three seat rating, as the only thing missing is a leisure centre. Six of us chose to visit to celebrate a 50th birthday with afternoon tea and an overnight stay. From the minute we arrived the service was superb, our room spacious (the single beds are huge and so comfortable), Paul Costelloe toiletries and a breakfast that would give any five star hotel a run for its money. The gorgeous lobby was the venue for our afternoon tea and what can I say about their pastry chef? Only that he or she is a genius! So ten out of ten for quality, value, friendliness and location. We'll be back! And thank you.

Keeping in mind that this is a three stars hotel, we had a nice stay there when visiting Blarney Castle. The beds were clean and cosy, the staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The reception lounge was quite nice but the bedrooms need new curtains and carpets. Not a great choice of food in the bar menu. Very close to the Castle, some shops and restaurants, I would recommend this no fuss hotel to anyone visiting Blarney!

We loved this place. Easy walking distance to Blarney Castle, with a good hotel, restaurant, pub, and large gift shop, all in one! The hotel was quite pleasant, with clean, quiet, comfortable rooms and a helpful staff.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Afternoon tea is nice to have although a few bigger scones would have been appreciated to use up the jam, cream and butter! Breakfast (when included) is good and if you’re a fan of eggs (Benedict and others) there’s plenty for you here. The hotel reception is very comfortable and inviting though the main bar on the other side of the hotel is in need of a makeover, it’s a bit cold and uninviting, as are some of the rooms in the hotel itself. As mentioned by a few others here, the window frames in the rooms are a bit grotty though that may be due to being original fittings... and single glazing doesn’t help the heating situation when it’s cold outside! A little TLC is needed here with rooms and carpets and heating needs to be addressed. I’d conclude that the hotel stay itself was indeed pleasant though with the noted concerns. The staff are altogether very helpful indeed!

The food was quite good. A little unimaginative. The ambiance was excellent. The price was middling The staff were friendly. Kids welcome I would return and would recommend for coffee get together rather than dinner

The hotel was fabulous and the staff were magnificent!! When I arrived I had be upgraded to an executive suite, a Lovely letter from the manager welcoming me and I have to say it was one of the best stays I have had in any hotel!

I travelled with a friend to watch Rugby in Limerick staying 2 nights at this great place. We arrived early and went for lunch in the Woollen Mills restaurant attached to the hotel. Don't be put off by the look of the restaurant/café because the quality is really good. We checked in and the room was basic but a good size. The room was clean and had a large cast iron bath. The room was really hot when I got there but once I figured out how to turn off the radiator then it began to cool to a reasonable temperature! Loved the décor of the hotels common areas and the pub at the end of the complex did lovely food. The town itself was really nice with some nice shops and pubs whilst a visit to the Castle is a must. Overall a fantastic trip and I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.
