Hotel had been just renovated and was really nice. Staff were excellent except one bar man who could do with being more personabe and courteous. Others were very good though so not fair to drag everyone down. Room was clean and comfy with a good shower. Great view of the city from the bar/restaurant. Would return again.
stunning views of Cork, gorgeous deck/patio area off the bar/restaurant. helpful and friendly staff. beautiful design. seems high above the city, but only a 15 minute walk to downtown Cork. hotel was under renovations while we were there, but we didn't experience any disruption to our stay, despite dropcloths being laid in the hallway when we walked out in the morning. staff accommodated a change to our number of guests easily.

The hotel was the cleanest and most helpful I have stayed in. The food in restaurant was good. Had a great stay. Would most definitely stay again if opportunity arises. Leisure club made relaxing after day of exploring very nice.
The Montenotte was under renovations when we were there, which might have had something to do with the fantastic deal we got, but they did an excellent job of keeping the noise and mess isolated. The staff was superb. We only stayed a night, but would have been glad to stay on longer. We also didn't have time to eat there, so can't say anything about the food. If you have a car, the hotel is very convenient to the city centre. It's not a bad walk, either--about 15 minutes--but it's uphill all the way back (if you sweat, you will sweat). Cork is trafficky, but there appeared to be good parking available in the car park.

Helpful Staff, good location, clean place. Only handicap is the Wi-fi system. The first 30 minutes in your room is free, then you have to pay a fee to be able to use it...
The hotel is fantastic. Our room is clean, well-decorated, and very lovely. The staffs are very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel looks very nice, but it's a pity that we didn't try. If you have a car, there's plenty of parking space. The swimming pool and fitness are very good. However, the hotel is on a hill, around 10-15 minutes walk down the hill to city center, including train and bus station. We've never walked up, so we have no idea how long it will take. The taxi from city center cost less than 10 euro to go back to the hotel.
The staff was friendly and professional. They assisted us in finding prime tourist locations and were always smiling. The restaurant manager was especially friendly! It was a good experience, though the walk up the hill after a long day of walking is probably not ideal for people who aren't in great shape. Also, it would be a long walk if you were to stay in Cork visiting pubs on Saturday night. However, there are cabs for about 10 euros to get to and from the hotel if you don't want to walk. All in all, good experience and I would stay there again.
We recently stayed at the Montenotte Hotel from the 21-25th May 09 and were reasonably satisfied with the quality of our room. However, I really believe this is equivalent to a 3 Star Hotel, the 4th Star requires a lot more effort by this establishment. A constant unpleasant odour was present in the outside corridor. However, It was an incident which occurred on the morning of our checkout very nearly marred our overseas trip. On the night of the 24th, I specifically requested a wake up call for 5am of the morning of Monday 25th to allow us time to pack, drop off our rental car at the airport, check in and make our flight to London. We had a separate flight booked in Heathrow for travel back to the USA, which was non-transferrable. I returned to the service desk to settle the bill after 20 minutes and re-iterated my request for the 5am wake up call. The lady in question and her assistant confirmed that all was arranged. I awoke at 5.35am, with no wake up call having been provided and we were then forced to rush out of the Hotel to meet our flight schedule. Luckily we just made our flight. I sent an email last week suggesting in future that this service be improved or automated, or that radio alarm clocks at least be provided in all the rooms. I have yet to receive the courtesy of a simple reply, purely to indicate they had received my feedback. Disappointing customer service pretty much sums up my experience!
