If you are looking for the ultimate Irish hotel, look no further. We enjoyed our stay there a couple of weeks ago. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable and the dinner at the hotel was the best we had in Ireland. We could walk to Blarney Castle and then over to the Woolen Mills, not having to get back in the car was such a treat. Great hotel, great location- would highly recommend!!
We loved staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was quaint, breakfast yummy. We had the chance to be there for the monthly singalong where locals take turn singing Irish songs... so great
Checked in with no reservations, Sept. 27, 2019. Great little property, within easy walking distance to Blarney Castle. Had a huge comfortable room on the 2nd floor overlooking Blarney Green. Staff very friendly and helpful. Adequate parking in the rear. This is an old property, obviously much loved, and updated. Full breakfast was amazing, and served hot, not a buffet, didn't know that there was more than one type of blood pudding ! Highly recommend, much better than expected in the centre of such a tourist spot.
We recently stayed here for two nights. Upon check in, our bags were taken to our room n the second floor. That was much appreciated as there is no lift here and the bags were 50+ pounds each. Thankfully, we were not on the third floor. They have about six parking spaces behind the hotel if needed. Our room, while not modern, was clean, comfortable and very spacious. It had everything we needed. There is no AC but we were able to open the windows to cool things off. Another advantage of the hotel is that it is a two minute walk to the entrance for the Blarney Castle. There is also a small supermarket on the square if you need anything as well as a large number of restaurants for a small town. However, we found the food at the pub to be very good at dinner. A good place to stay if you are in the area.
We stayed here in August 2019 and really enjoyed our stay. It was our first visit to Blarney and it was very special for both of us. The staff here are wonderful . Gillian was so friendly and helpful. Our food was so tasty. We both had the soup special and it was so flavoursome with brown soda bread. Breakfast in the morning was really good. Our room was a great size ,well kept and plenty of space for everything. We had a great night,s sleep. We are planning our next trip already for next year with some of our family.
Had the pleasure of visiting Blarney Castle and upon recommendation from a lady local she recommended Blarney Castle Hotel to stay. Upon arrival of the hotel the staff were very attentive and helpful. We were exhausted after our walk and did not have a place booked for the night. Sheila was just wonderful. We were offered a large double room with a king size bed with plenty of room for our luggage. We were offered help with our luggage. The room was perfect. We were served a delicious breakfast in the morning. What a choice on offer it was the best ever. Upon checkout again our service was excellent. We will certainly recommend to all our friends back home.
We just returned from Ireland and I had to write a review on this hotel because it exceeded my expectations. The food at the restaurant was the best pub food we had on our entire stay in Ireland. The pub was lively and seems to be a favorite of the locals but even though they were busy the service was fast and friendly. The hotel is old so it is a little quirky but the room was really large, clean and well equipped. I love how they kept a lot of the character to the place but still worked in modern conveniences. In the morning we were cooked a hot to order breakfast and when we told the owner we were walking over to the castle he brought us umbrellas because it was raining. Everyone at the front desk was eager to answer questions and even pulled out a map to show us where we should go next. The little town is quite cute as well but Cork is only a 5 minute drive away.
My family and I recently took a short break down to the beautiful Castle Hotel in Blarney. This was our first time staying there and I can certainly see ourselves returning. It is a stones through from Blarney Castle itself which my wife and kids really enjoyed. The hotel is only a 10 minute drive from Cork city, which is very convenient as the hotel itself is in a really nice, quiet spot. My primary reason for writing this review is due to the service my family received while staying there. The staff were quite exceptional. They were almost always smiling and checking to see if we needed anything. If we were looking for things to do the receptionist was more than happy to recommend things and showed us how to get there. The food we had was the nicest we had in Cork all weekend. If anyone is planning a trip to Blarney or even Cork city, this is a perfect spot and I would gladly return. 5*****
We had the pleasure of staying here for 1 night. We were a group of 6 ladies on a holiday. I must say this hotel was the best of all the hotels we stayed in Ireland. Sheila and Connie took care of us when we were checking in. Our rooms which were 3 twin rooms were a delight. The beds were so comfortable and the wifi was quick and fast. We were able to communicate with our families back home in Texas. The extra addition of water in the rooms with soft towels and space also in the rooms was perfect. The rooms are big and plenty space for our luggage. We went down to the bar for a something to eat. Again Sheila went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We got talking to some of the locals and they were telling us some interesting stories. There is great history attached to the hotel they they were telling us about. We had some wonderful food in the bar that night. Three of the girls had the Thai Red Curry and the others had the Fish and Chips. This is seriously good good. It was the BEST Fish and Chips on the holiday. The Thai Red Curry was also great. Breakfast was served in the morning by Ian and we had wonderful service. There is an excellent choice on offer for hotel guests. I note it seems to be a popular place for locals also in the morning as seems to be the in place to hang out. Our driver was due to arrive at 8.30am however they seemed to be some mix up. We had some coffee while we were waiting and he eventually arrived at 11.30am. Thanks to all the staff for a great stay and wonderful memories.
This is my second time visiting this hotel during 2019. We were down for a cycling event nearby. I had an early start Sunday morning and had a great night sleep. Breakfast was served at 7.30am by a nice lady who was extremely helpful with my dietary needs. It is a hotel with great character and right in the middle of the village. We had a lovely meal on Saturday night in the bar. My husband and I both had the fish which was very tasty. I will certainly recommend to my friends. The room was very spacious and good value for money.
