I stayed here for a night when working in the area, good big comfortable rooms, lovely reception and bar/restaurant area. There was a couple of things that let it down. My room was on the 3rd floor over looking the port. The window in my room didn’t close properly (there was a gap at the top) which let cold air in and the noise of the port which starts work early! It was also tricky to try and adjust the heating as there is a box over the radiator. The bar service was slow and the staff seemed to struggle pouring a pint as they had to keep tipping the access foam out. We sat at the bar waiting to be served when about 6-8 people came in (who must of had some sort of conference at the hotel) the staff served them before us even though we had been there before them. The hotel is well presented, lean and comfortable it was fine for me as I was only staying for one night.

My sister, best friend and I stayed here the day before I graduated. We arrived late and left early the following morning. Despite this, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant and had a fantastic nights sleep. The room was ideal for the 3 of us. The hotel also supplied a small sewing kit for a dress malfunction the morning of my graduation. I will definitely be back to silver springs ASAP

Check-in was great and while we waited for our room to be ready we received a free drink in the bar. The room was nice and large enough for a family of 5. They also supplied a fold-up bed which was great. I think we were above the laundry so it was quite noisy from the machines. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening. It was fine but I would have expected better from a 4 star hotel restaurant. The leisure center being 10 minutes walk up a very steep hill was a very big inconvenience.

We spent two lovely nights in a family room (2adults 2children) which was clean spacious and modern. Lovely welcome at reception, breakfast was very varied and fresh, made to suit all needs and tastes. We had a meal included in our package which was very good and tasty. Shirley, our waitress, was very efficient and friendly. We had a problem with our key on every occasion we tried to enter the room, but the staff were very helpful with a situation that was no ones fault, just a technical issue. Lovely bar area with good atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Our Room was spacious and had a beautiful view out over Cork city. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.I would definitely recommend Clayton Silver Springs as a good value destination for anyone visiting Cork, easy to access all amenities.

The friendly hotel is situated a taxi ride away from the city of Cork. But more than 10 minutes but 12€ single trip to the city attractions. Cork has a fantastic Jazz Festival so this makes a nice quiet choice during the festival. Rooms are very well appointed with nice bathrooms. My only bug bear is very limited TV channels and none in another language other than English. Breakfast ok

Hotel was clean, very comfortable very good leisure facilities inc luding indoor squash and tennis even if it was driving distance from hotel.easy to find from the city. However breakfast was good evening dinning experience not good and have no wish to repeat.tasted like reheat and generally lacklustre. Just eat out and happy days

The staff are excellent, very friendly and accommodating but we found the hotel to be a bit of a let down. The room wasn't very clean, we had a 9m old who was on the floor a lot and had lots of hair and dirt sticking to her fingers which wasn't very nice. The bathroom had a few hairs stuck on the walls and under the shower head. The remote off the telly was missing the back part of the battery pack too which isn't very child friendly as curious hands could take out the batteries. The room was a bit grotty over all apart from the bed linen, which was fine. The breakfast was good but the high chairs were filthy. They hadn't been cleaned and both that were available were very grubby and the straps were disgustingly dirty. The leisure centre was a huge let down. This is an off site gym with a pool and really shouldn't be promoted as a 4* Hotel Leisure Centre as it is not by any means. Kids are to be out by 7:30 which wasn't mentioned to us and it closed at 8pm and on arrival we were told it was opened until 10 but it wasn't somewhere you would want to spend a lot of time in anyway. The hotel is fine for a business stop over maybe but it wasn't for us and I don't think we would be back again.

Booked into Hotel with my daughter during the recent storm and was looking forward to a comfortable night with dinner as had no electricity or water at home. Check in was excellent prompt and pleasant. Room lovely and clean but very hot later for some reason despite no obvious heating being turned on in room. Went down to dinner ordered drinks which arrived promptly. Waitress very pleasant. Ordered a mains course x 3. Waited 50 minutes asked where it could be at this stage. Finally 5 mins approximately later it arrived looked like it had been kept warm as plates were roasting and food bit dry. Starving so ate it. When waitress finally asked about 1 hour later was everything ok stated that food had taken so long to arrive. She said that they were so busy. There were about 6/8 people sitting around us and the bar seemed busier where people were also eating. However this did not seem like a logical excuse as just then a man next to us ordered food at 10pm and his food arrived in 5/10 minutes. I had seen someone walk away earlier as their food arrived so late. In the bedroom next morning the shower handle came away in my hand almost got scorched and was rushing to work so could not delay to let them know. Overall very disappointing.

Just a flying visit so didn't get to use much beyond the breakfast dining, and the shower. On my drive down to Cork, I was caught up in the aftermath of an accident, I called the hotel as a couirtesy to let them know I would be there, if a bit later than planned, on my arrival at the hotel the receptionist was lovely asking if I was ok etc after the drama, The room was a double twin, nice comfy king sized bed, with the usual array of comp cosmetics and teas coffees etc, absolutely on the money. It was a nice large room, and seems to have been recently modernised, the bathroom was very up to date, everything was spotless and easy to operate. I was travelling for business, but a room this size would do a family as well. The breakfast was good, again good value, hot and cold buffet, good quality meats, prompt service etc. Happy to recommend the Clayton hotel, as a good value, good quality alternative to the better known chain hotels. I would rank it as about equal to a Premier Inn, maybe edging it slightly with the better bathroom, and certainly the personal interest taken by the staff meant a lot to this weary traveller.
