I have stayed here a number of times with my family. Great hotel can never seem to fault it and we always seem to go back!. The food in the restaurant is always of a high standard. I have stopped here for lunch while in cork a number of times too as it offers free wifi which is handy for me because i spend a lot of time on the road with work. The hotel is a short drive/taxi in to the city centre in cork.
Having recently been in the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs for a number of work engagements I found the executive bedrooms above the standard of other, comparable hotels in Cork. Good meeting room facilities with excellent support - thank you Jan and Shan. The staff throughout the hotel and conference centre are very helpful and personable. I look forward to my nest visit.
Came to the grill restaurant here on Saturday afternoon, The restaurant was very well presented so we ordered food, The order took a very long time to arrive, around 45mins, for sandwiches etc, a lot of mix ups with the order, I got fish cakes that were actually just potato cakes, others had complaints of food being ice cold in the middle,
We purchased a two night stay as a wedding present for my niece and her husband with an evening dinner. there was also another room booked as a mothers day present. When both parties were booking in the receptionist was very cool and very un- welcoming to the concerned parties. There was a meal booked and paid for the newly weds which when they went to order they were told that this was not so creating a very embarrassing situation for the couple concerned. No apology was offered for any misunderstanding to the contrary the staff were quiet arrogant. So in the whole not a very good impression of Cork hospitality was more like a Faulty Towers experience.
I am a frequent visitor to Clayton Hotel Silver Springs with my work, but this time my experience was not great. I stayed in room 203 No Desk Lamp in Bedroom Kettle didn't work in room, Locked out of room on 2 occasions, the access card would not work. First replacement card did not work either Television reception was brutal. Sound and Vision would freeze every few minutes, especially RTE1, RTE2, TV3 and Sky News. Very annoying watching a match
Hotel is outside the main areas of cork city but it's a nice location on its own , good size car park, hotel is nice , only problem I had the last time I stayed there was I was in a room facing the road & I could hear every car passing by all night do if your a light sleeper ask for a room away from the main road , breakfast is very good - staff are nice and friendly
Amazing view of Cork & River Lee from room (6th floor)! Staff very friendly and helpful! Limited car parking near front door Long walk down steps (especially if you are carrying luggage) from upper car park! Tip: Stop in set down area and drop your luggage into reception before going up to park.
We stayed for one night on the 10th of March and I have to say it was a fantastic night we had the family package which includes b&b dinner for the 4 of us tickets for foto and a picnic it's was such great value the staff were absolutely amazing and friendly and our 6 Year old was amazed that ye made him a cake and sang happy Birthday to him thanks for the fantastic stay
Great room, was upgraded to a suite---whow!! Fabulous room and for once I arrived in time to enjoy it. Dined in the dining area rather than the bar. Had one of the nicest meals in a long time. It was crispy duck, but not as we know it. It was slow cooked and the meat was falling off the bone and melted in the mouth. Served on a bed of creamy mash alongside a spiced plum sauce, asparagus tips. Went very well with a glass of Malbec. I was very well looked after by Richard in the dining room- thank you. My thanks also to Grace on reception who was very warm in her welcome. I was so impressed that I've already booked the Clayton hotel in Galway for my next business trip next week. It will be interesting to compare one with the other.
Stayed for 2 nights, wonderful stay, all the staff were amazing, very pleasant at all times. The food was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again, special thanks to Eoghan who served us food on the first night, very friendly.
