The charm of this property can’t be beat! When we first walked in, I was captivated. We spent time on the screened in porch and used our bird app to identify the many birds in the neighborhood. As we settled in for the evening, certain things became noticeable. Something in the house triggered my asthma/allergies. I’m not sure but I feel like it might have been the couch??? While sitting on the couch, I turned my head to look in the main bedroom and noticed dust bunnies under the bed. While in the bathroom on the main floor, I happened to touch my fingers to the sink top and noticed it had a film that I was able to rub off. Additionally, when I was getting ready for the day, a small spider came down on a web from the ceiling. I wanted to soak in a warm tub after a long day of hiking, but there was no drain stopper. When we were eating breakfast, I happened to notice cobwebs on top of the lampshade on the table. The outdoor area is much better depicted in its pictures than in reality. It’s a bit rundown. There was a thistle close to a foot tall I almost ran into just outside the front screen door. It was these little things that began to chip away at the overall charm of the house. I understand to expect some rough edges since it’s such an old house, but basic cleanliness shouldn’t be one of those things. The mattress and pillows on the queen bed are better than mine at home! I got the best sleep I’ve had in a while! :-) There were also enough dishes and utensils.
