Booked for anniversary to get away fro the kids for romantic getaway . Room was small couldn’t find thermostat or light switches ( hidden behind headboard) had to open window to cool off room. One tiny tiny table fit alarm clock and two glasses that’s about all that would fit on it. No microwave. Bathroom was best and most spacious part of room, but never got to enjoy it. Hallway lights were alway off had to search in the dark for it to get out front door. Stairs were totally vertical wood slippery and dangerous since it was a rainy day . Returned from a romantic dinner and opened a bottle of wine too celebrate. Turn on music decided to relive our first romantic encounter only to have pounding on our door with threats of crazy person outside our door ( remember we our in our fifty’s and it was ten o’clock) Figured it was room next door and ignored only to get call from owner telling us to leave. Do we pack our things apologized for any inconvenience to the people if we offended anyone, but what is a hotel stay for if not to have s romantic encounter. Not everyone is just looking for a place to sleep. Here we thought we would do this once a month to keep our relationship exiting.( NOT HERE!!) Can’t recommend and will never stay again. Never had this kind of problem before.
I grew up in Plainfield and was looking for a little place for my daughter and I to stay when I flew in for a class reunion! This lovely inn in a historic house was just perfect! It is in walking distance of Plainfield's downtown area as well as the Homecoming Parade. Fresh muffins, fruit, and water are set out in the hall for you to help yourself: all delicious! The room thoughtfully had its own Keurig, well supplied with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate as well as a small refrigerator! The bed was so soft and comfortable and the room, though small, had everything we needed. The site is pleasantly quiet and safe. I hope to stay here again next time I'm in town! We absolutely loved it!!
LOVED this B&B!! Caretakers are great, clean beautiful rooms, warm and inviting! Walk to downtown area lots of great places to eat also. Easy to locate fun place to stay! Easy to find nice shops downtown also
I booked the Inn while attending a conference for three nights. It was more than I could have hoped for! The house is incredibly clean and fresh and I immediately noticed the difference in air quality when I got in. Jen and Justin did a beautiful job of giving the rooms a modern look while still preserving the historic feel of the home. They very clearly considered every last detail, down to the linen-print coasters for the room. (And yes, they provide wi-fi) All of the rooms have a fridge and stocked Keurig machine and Jen makes baked goods that she brings upstairs which are absolute perfection. The bed linens are the smoothest, highest quality sheets I have ever slept in. The bathroom is spa-like. They have bathrooms for each room and they did not sacrifice space. The bathrooms are just the right size with a large, walk-in shower with a waterfall head which is wonderful. They provide an upscale line of toiletries which smell amazing. Check in and out are the easiest thing in the world as Jen sends you your codes for the house and your room ahead of time so you can just walk in when you are ready. I am so pleased with my stay!
We were so pleased with our stay at the Plainfield Inn. It is an 1850s building that has beautifully restored guest suites on the second floor. Very clean, modern fixtures in a style well suited to a historic building. The second house off of Plainfield's main downtown street, it is very quiet and private yet walkable to shops and restaurants on Lockport Street. As long as one can manage a staircase with their bag, this is definitely the place to stay in Plainfield. And the fresh baked muffins with big juicy blueberries are to die for!
Stayed the night in this old fashion home (actually schoolhouse but ask the owners for more fun details). The owners have done a great job making this feel like a bed & breakfast. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. I stayed in the Herrington. The room is on the smaller side with a large bed. Plenty of room to layout any suitcases with walking room to spare. The bathroom is the best part. They took the time to give it detail that you would find in an upscale furnished apartment. All the fixtures are well cleaned and trendy, makes me want to redo mine! The room came with a cutting edge keurge and ample choices of k-cups to choose from. A tv that proportional to space and easy to see from the bed. They even included bathrobes. The towels are thick and huge. It is clear the family took the time to make this a special place to stay. Don't pass on the opportunity to stay here; cute house in an excellent location. I surely stay here again in the coming months.
