Extended Stay America Chicago - Buffalo Grove - Deerfield

Affordable, close to Conway Farms and great restaurants.

I chose the hotel because of cost, location, ranking by previous customers, and breakfast. Breakfast was a scam, they had coffee and oatmeal, no place to sit, it was in the foyer, not breakfast at all. Advertising was a lie in my opinion.

This is the definition of a "no-frills" experience. It has the basics, but thats about all. The rooms have basic amenities that you would expect from an extended stay (bed, closet, kitchen, bathroom). Nothing feels especially new or nice. But it's fine. Location is central to many things in the Buffalo Grove, Wheeling area - right on Milwaukee Ave. Note: this is an extended stay hotel, things like daily room service don't happen. There is not always someone at the front desk and the maintenance person is not there during the night. Also, there is only one elevator.

The hotel rooms are very small, little color and very drab. The hallways were reeking with cigarette smell although it was a non-smoking hotel. TV looked smaller than a 32" size tv. The channel lineup was less than 25 channels. For the price paid, there are better hotel options in the vicinity costing $10 to $20 more per night and providing better amenities and a much ambience.

The rooms met expectations. Having a Kitchen was great. The staff was helpful. The complementary breakfast was minimum and diss appointing.

The room was super clean. You get what you pay for.

Didn't spend much time there, just to sleep, but comfortable. Bonus ponits for the front desk associate who gave me shampoo samples for my stay.

ESA refused to provide me with proof of departure. I stayed only 5 nights and departed due to a family emergency on Saturday morning, July 4th at 6am. The staff at ESA was extremely rude and refused all my requests for a verification of departure. l will not stay at an ESA facility in the future. Furthermore, I have been trying to contact Orbitz for a refund of the two days I did not use but you hide your identity, contact information (by phone) and are not accessible. I will not use Orbitz in the future.

The Extended Stay is right across the street from the Deerfield River trail, where I took my morning run and saw, in no particular order. 3 rabbits, 6 or 7 deer, a blue heron, and a beaver who was munching on a tree branch. Awesome!

The ESA-Chicago-Buffalo Grove hotel was very nice. The location was great because we did not want to travel a long distance for dinner and it was centrally located to a lot of different places to eat. We went to Cheese Cake factory for dinner on Monday and we brought left over back and with the accommodation of refrigerator and microwave we were able to finish our delicious meal on Tuesday nite. The plates and silverware on site was just like eating at home.
