Hotel Santa Cruz Cartagena

This hotel is located close to all the main touristic atractions on Cartagena, however my room was extremely noise due to traffic and the bell of the hostel at night. Also the breakfast was quite humble.

Clean and big rooms with aircon and tv. Very friendly staff. Located just a few minutes from the main attractions of the old town. Some rooms have a nice balkony on the first floor, where you can enjoy a drink and observe the busy and vibrating street

Do not trust the staff! I was robbed at this hotel!!! I left some money in my bag, inside the room. I counted it in the morning and left the hotel around 9 AM and my bag was inside the room. I came back around noon and part of the money was missing!!!! My money was hidden in the bottom of the bag, when I opened it, my things were messed up and they just have cleaned the room!!! The floor was still wet.

Stayed here for 2 nights in May 2016. Good things about the hotel is that it is centrally located , the rooms have air conditioning, and the staff were very helpful for example checking me in early and calling cabs and advising on cab prices. The rooms are a bit tired and the only meals offered was breakfast , so it is more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel. But overall does what it says on the tin.

We stayed at this hotel (which is more like a hostel) for a week. When we arrived the guy at the desk gave us a much smaller room, than what we had paid for. It had no windows or any other source of natural light and it felt more like a prison cell than a hotel room. It turned out he had no room available in the size we had paid. We had to argue with him for quite some time (even though there were not beds enough for all of us) before we got a big room for a few nights before we could get the room we had paid for. In the time we were there we stayed at three different rooms and all were ratter run down. It looks nice on the surface and the outside areas but the rooms could be so much better with just a little effort. The location was good.

On arrival there was an unfriendly and indifferent girl at the front desk. Maximum 7 sqm large room (208) with mold smell and without window. No chair. No hooks or straps for clothes. Loud sounds of the very old air conditioning. Dirty tiles. Dirty wall upside the bed. Poor uneven and hard mattress. In the bathroom no towel rack and no storage. Sink with hardly any water. Not enough tables in the breakfast area. You have to wait. The breakfast isn't prepared carefully.Artificial juice which mainly contains sugar. Next day I could change to the bigger neighbour room (207)with a chair and a table .Here the aircondition was properly working, the wardrobe had straps and the water was well running, but the matress again was a torture. The room 208 which I got the first night could go as a jail, but the room 207 even small was sustainable except the mattress. Overall you get not much for your money.

The location is perfect. In the central area of cartagena walled city. Near to everything (bars, restaurants, pier). The breakfast is quite good, you can choose between 4 options that include eggs, cheese, ham and sandwich. The shower was very cold.

The rooms are small, not the cleanest in appearance, and mine had a bunch of hungry mosquitos biting me. The location is nice though being in the walled city. The matrices are hard. They feel like gym mats. Breakfast is mediocre at best. This is a good location if you're on a budget, otherwise if you desire something more modern, Bocagrande hotels will be your best option.

Nice and simple, dont choose the room in the front is too hot. The only thing I didnt like was the breakfast area because it was in the roof in the sun. But the staff is frindly and helped us with the baggage.

This Hotel is nicely located inside the walled city, where pretty much everything happens in Cartagena. Bedrooms are quite small and the bed might be a bit harsh for some people, but generally speaking the Hotel is quite good for the price you're paying. Staff is helpful, breakfast was good and shower was OK. If you're on a short stay or will end up being outside the hotel most of the day. I can recommend you this place for sure.
