The pool and fitness center were closed. The printer in the business area didn't work. Breakfast is only served until 9:30 am.
The location was good because close to my mom's nursing home and my family home. The staff was all very good, friendly and professional. Everything was very clean.
The only complaint we have is that they turned off the water one afternoon to replace a water heater without telling the guests! Suddenly no water!
We had a great stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff bent over backwards to ensure that we had an enjoyable time. We encourage all travellers to stay here. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
Room and hallway were hot, AC was very noisy, price was high, breafast shutdown at 9:00AM.

Took a family trip to Carlsbad Caverns (two families). This was probably the nicest hotel in Carlsbad, however it was a 45 minute drive to the caverns. We made a return trip in the evening to watch the bat flight, it was interesting. The hotel is at the far end of town. It was nice, but overpriced. Our room looked clean, but when we misplaced something and checked around the beds, we found it quite dirty. Our wall looked like the wallpaper had been taken off and not replaced; there was drawing on one of the walls in the hall. The staff was nice and friendly, the breakfast was good. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. There are fast food places across the street. The air conditioners are window units and very noisy. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it would have been nice to have another hotel choice.
Very clean! Noisy in the morning when they are rolling carts to clean the rooms. Cinnimon rolls are excellent in the morning!
It was great! Everything was the best. It was a Sunday and I was heading back home to Texas. My daughter needed to print her homework and I was able to because there was a computer and printer. The dining table was excellent. There was a T.V. which you can watch while eating. The pool area was near the pool which made it easy for my girls to have access to the pool. Also next to hotel there was a mini mall (Carlsbad Mall). The river was also near. It has a little beach so kids can go in to swim and play. They also have a pedal boat and boating activities rental.

After having a NOT good experience in La Quinta at Fort Stockton, this hotel (Holiday Inn Express) seemed like paradise. We were on our way back home. We were grateful for the clean bedroom & bathroom. The breakfast room was cheerful and clean; good food + service.

We checked in to the hotel early in the afternoon and our rooms were ready. I booked two rooms, as we were travelling with another couple. The king size beds were really comfortable. I liked the no slip bath tub and the really great shower head. We were right by the side door of the hotel, but we did not hear a lot of hall noise. This is a great place to stay if you are going to Carlsbad Caverns. The comp breakfast was better than most. Staff were very friendly.
