Clean, comfortable, quiet night’s stay in a stylish room a reasonable drive from the Caverns (about 35min). Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but did the job. Would stay here again.

Checkin was delayed until 7:30pm due to shortstaffing and no employees to clean rooms. When I opened the door, the room was not clean. The linens had been changed but there was food debris on the counter and coffee stains on the table. The outer comforter had stains as well. Very poor cleaning and hygeine. I checked the bed for bugs but did confirm new linens, thankfully. The kitchette was in working order which was good. The shower took 5 whole minutes to retrieve hot water (I almost thought it was cold water only and I'm glad I waited). Very limited parking/ arrival after 7pm probably means no parking available. There is no street parking as an alternative. Lights on motel's outside stay on all night and there are no blackout curtains. AC unit is loud. Probably not a good idea to stay here more than one night as a road stop and only if you really need a discount. Bed was comfy despite the light and noise. Will stay elsewhere when I drive back home.

My bathroom sink was dirty. It took a long time to check in because the clerk was unsure of herself and was new and poorly trained. My keys didn’t work. No ice bucket or do not disturb card. My room smelled strongly of men’s cologne the entire two days. Uggghhh. The maid was nice and checked in frequently. I left her a good tip.

Nice hotel and newly renovated! The place was quiet and room was large. The only cons is that the parking limited and for some reason the deadlock did not work.

Great stay

I really enjoyed my stay here. You can tell this is an older place that has been renovated. The room was pretty clean. You can just tell on the baseboards it needs like a deep clean, but overall it was clean and I was happy. The bed was super comfortable. The shower was great. I loved having the mini fridge and microwave. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Carlsbad! The front desk was wonderful and so helpful anytime I needed anything.

We think it's great how it was remodeled but still has the looks of an old motel; great to walk around for dining options. The only suggestion we may have is to add some fruit during breakfast, other than that we had an excellent stay.

Really like the property and the staff has all been very friendly & helpful. We had a couple of problems with our check-in, however. The first key we got for our room didn't work and the AC in our room was very loud. However, they quickly resolved these issues.

The property itself was not bad at all. It was nice and clean, but the property is not very transparent with its fees. I planned a two day mini vacation with my son to visit Carlsbad caverns and the following day take a trip to Roswell. I only had a $200 budget for both days. Upon arriving at the property on a Friday night, I checked in and the lady at the front desk, informed me that she would have to put a $100 hold on my card. I told her everything was already paid for, but I had no choice but to pay since at that point, and at 9:30 PM, I couldn't cancel and get the money I had already paid refunded so I could find a different place. This cut my budget in half. The employee assured me that my $100 would be released the moment I checked out. Next day, we decided to just check out and go to the caverns then drive back home since I would just rather get my $100 back immediately. I was worried about me and my son not being able to make it on $100 for two days and have enough gas money to drive back home. This meant that I would have to lose the money for day 2 of my trip as it was non-refundable. When I checked out, I noticed my money had not been released. I went back and asked the lady, and contrary to that the lady the prior night had told me, my funds would not be released for another 3-5 business days. So this happened in Saturday, and there was a good chance that my funds wouldn't be back in my account until Friday. This place ruined my two day mini vacation.
