Whites City is very peaceful. It much more convenient to the Caverns. Our room was clean, pet friendly and staff were super nice! I would not change anything about our stay except to make the stop for food before leaving Carlsbad.

Surprisingly nice property. Would it be perfect if they had elevator. I had to request a room on a first floor and hoping it won't be noisy

it served our needs greatly

Loved the location. The purpose was Calsbad Caverns and Guadalupe NP's, so there isn't a better place to stay. Bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. The Cafe was only open until 3, so you'll need to head into Carlsbad for dinner. Staff was friendly enough, but I wouldn't say they go above and beyond.

Good, clean and quiet

When I was planning my visit Carlsbad Caverns, I read other reviews how it offered such a good southwest experience along with a very small shopping area and cafe that adds to the vibe. Plus it's located at the gate of the park. I'm not disappointed at all, but it's nothing special. If I were to do it over again, I would have stayed in Carlsbad as it's a city with everything and more what you need(food/restaurants open late- night life, etc)and it's only less than a 20 minute drive that's all open road with no traffic. The cafe is absolutely nothing special as they make 2 egg omelettes instead of the standard 3, and still charge you the same as other restaurants charge for 3. And when asked about putting on green chilies (New Mexico staple) waitress didn't seem to know it was a typical addition. Gift shop across the street they didn't seem too enthusiastic I was there to spend good money to keep him in business. To be fair the hotel does reach out day before check in and remind you that all food/shopping services are closed early. So make sure you plan any services you will want ahead of time. If you want to go to Carlsbad after 5.pm,. understand that there's a lot of local traffic there and will delay your night if you want to take anything back. Overall, just nothing special. And if you're like me that likes some spontaneity, then stay in Carlsbad. If you just have to have a 7 minute drive to the park, then stay here.

So close to Carlsbad Caverns. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and large. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

The room was large but, there was no available working electric outlet near the beds. The available outlet had no face plate, and stopped working during my stay. The hotel advertises as pet friendly, but any place to walk a dog was either overgrown or full of broken glass and dog poop. It rained hard the night I was there, and in the morning I noticed two rooms with ankle high water in front of the door.

Close to Carlsbad Caverns. Quiet, comfortable bed, large room. Internet and TV issues. Limited breakfast

The kids enjoyed the water slide area. The room was clean and the staff were friendly.

I will not be staying here in the future. The TV service was in and out, and the phones did not work-looks like they had a sign up since winter that the TV and phones had not been working since then. Everything in Whites city closes early so you have travel to Carlsbad, NM for food or anything. Our rooms weren't ready at 0430 and had to wait for about 30 mins to be cleaned.

Nice hotel close to Carlsbad Caverns NP.

The best place to stay for Carlsbad cavern and Guadalupe Mt!! But not much to eat!! Quiet and clean place! Stayed with a kid and had great time!!

We are so sorry you were displeased with your stay. If you could contact us and let us know the room number you were staying in we can fix the face plate problem. We are definitely a pet friendly hotel and we have a full-time landscaper and maintenance person so our property is definitely well-maintained and we do not have any overgrown areas. Also, we have not had rain and the last two weeks. Is it possible you are thinking of a different hotel? Thank you for your review.
