price was cheap. staff, room, and location was great. comfortable beds, nice shower, nice pool

In a relatively busy area, but the hotel itself is quiet. Good for relaxing. Great staff. Not in hotel zone, but close enough to Cancun downtown.

I rented the most expensive room and they gave me a regular one. I realized about it later.(Tower rooms are better than the one they gave me) Parking is an issue if you arrive late night. Water in the pool doesnt circulate. No pump. Rooms without furniture, freezer.

While the hotel room and location were as expected, the check-in experience made this a 1-star review: I and my family arrived around 11:00pm on the check-in date with a confirmed reservation. At the hotel we were told that our reservation was really at another hotel and that we had to drive to that other hotel instead. A long discussion with the clerk, showing the reservation and asking for the manager yielded nothing, even though there did not seem to be a lot of guests. I then proceeded to call the booking agent's customer service and after 30 minutes on hold, just as I got a person on the phone, magically, a room was available. The staff seems to be running some kind of scam and I recommend staying somewhere else.

This hotel is located in downtown Cancun, few miles from the hotel zone. Although the locality is not so nice, the hotel itself is well worth the price. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. I will definitely recommend this hotel

Clean place. They beginning cleaning early and clean ALL day. Workers seem to work long hours. Leisurely pace, not to worry, I was impressed. Kitchen is open til 11 am and then again all evening. Just order. The cook, full or energy, dancing around, very friendly. Desk speaks English. Many buses, and taxi's. VERY safe during the day. I did not go out @ night. Only one access into hotel. Safe. Across the street is a gas station. A regular 7-11! Hotdogs rolling on the grill. Everything to eat or drink. AND a tile shop across the street. Decorative bathroom sink bowls, etc. I bought a soap dish & they wrapped it solid. My room AC was the coldest I have ever seen. Cold air! My room had NO fridge or microwave. I took a blow dryer. Good HOT water. Regular American AC. And I mean they even "ruffled" the kleenex box paper with a bow. Actually, best folding show I have EVER seen, they folded & adorned everything that could be, and I have been in a lot of hotels! Give these guys a raise. They moved all the tables EVERY time they cleaned. Tile floors. I had a balcony room, and there was an currency exchanger ATM in the lobby. It was a GREAT value and I am glad I stayed there. I chose it because of the price. Oh, and there WAS a pool. With pretty blue tiles. Clean water. Actually larger than the picture. I also saw a hotel van. And they wash the comforters!!!!!!!!!! No wash cloths. (I always pack one.)

was ok for the price...should at least a microwave and a refrigerator....but you get what you pay for

All I needed was a place to park myself and my car. Terracaribe is an inexpensive, clean and convenient (to Isla Mujares) hotel. Definitely not the Ritz, but it has a small pool and a warm-tub. Ask for one of the rooms with a (small) balcony

Like other reviews have said, the location is the weakness of this hotel. It is far from the hotel zone where all the fun is going on. But since my friends and I were on a budget, spending 120 pesos (about 10 US dollars)for a cab ride to the hotel zone was more affordable than paying 200 USD extra per person for a nicer hotel at a better location. It takes about 25 mins to get to the hotel zone. The cabs are plenty and we never have any problem finding one. If you're buying a tour, then the location is not so much of a problem because they will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel anyway. The hotel is close to the ferry port to Isla Mujares. It was about 15 min walk from the hotel. Then we took the ferry for another 15-20 mins to the island where we spent a nice day snorkeling and walking around the downtown of the island. The hotel, indeed, is clean. Room service is great. We always came back to our room at the end of each day to find it so spotlessly clean. Even our messy clothes were put in the right place for us. Very impressed. The food at the hotel was great. I had American breakfast there and absolutely loved it! The superior room was spacious and the AC worked well (to a point where I actually froze at night!) It was overall a nice experience on a budget. It saved me probably 200 dollars for the whole trip of 5 nights 6 days -- adding up to 800 dollars for all four of us. So, if you come as a family and want a more economical vacation, this is possibly a good option for you. However, the next time I go back, I probably will pick a hotel in the hotel zone :(

I needed a hotel to sleep while I waited for my plane the next mourning. Too bad my stay was too short because the hotel invited me to spend more time. The hotel and the service was more than what I expected

Good deal for what you pay for. Nice people. Not a very good part of town. Restaurant was decent.

The receptionist received me in a bad mood. He was so rude, he wanted me to provide him my passport in order for him to get a copy so he could give me the room I had in my reservation. In addition the room that he gave me had blood on the floor. I asked him to changed me to another room the same night I had arrived, he did it in a bad mood.

This hotel is perfect for Cancun on a budget. If you are not adventurous or self-sufficient, stay in the hotel zone. If you want to get a taste of the real life Mexico, then stay at this hotel. You will get a quiet, clean room, good night's rest, a very nice and extremely helpful staff, and a pool that is never crowded. As you approach the area you may think it is a little run down but remember you are in Mexico and not the US. Pay attention to how clean everything is and you won't feel threatened at all. I would stay there again.

very accomodating,we enjoyed it

A good solid hotel for sleeping. In terms of the feel of the hotel, it was pretty basic, but had all the essentials for a good night's sleep.

no matter where u stay in cancun there is at least a 30min drive there, so don't fret about no being in the hotel zone. room was neat, and clean, people were helpful and friendly, i would absolutely stay here again. i traveled alone and i never felt unsafe

i just stayed there for 1 night.it would be nice if there are more english channel to choose.

We traveled to Cancun on holiday and we chose the Terracaribe for its reasonable pricing and free shuttle to the beach. We arrived on a Thursday evening and everyone was very helpful. The wireless internet did not work until Sunday morning. Sunday during the day we discovered that our door would not close. Upon calling the staff to assist, he closed it once and then went on his way. The maid came to clean our room and had the same issue we did. We came home around 4 am and the door was open. Sketchy. Other than that, it was decent. Nothing special.

All the staff was really nice and professional and we didn't miss anything or just a little of bit more sun at the swimmingpool would have been nice at the end of the afternoon.

Within walking distance to the Isla M. ferry and market 43. Taxi to market 28 is cheap. Room is small (ok for the price) but clean. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Have wifi is a plus.
