Staff was very nice for the most part some unhappy faces the check-in went smooth and nice, except for the rude woman, trying to get me to do the tour and timeshare
The property is really nice. Beautiful pools and an abundance of pools. We absolutely loved that. The main pool was fun and lots of activities during the day along with great music. If that’s not to your liking there’s other pools that are more chill. The infinity pools are fantastic. We had 2 main issues. The beach sucks. Do not go there for the beach. There’s really no beach scene at all. Secondly, the WiFi. There’s no phone reception or barely any throughout the resort, so you would need WiFi, which they charge $60 a device for. It’s ridiculous. We actually said that we would not come back to this resort for that sole reason. They should just factor that into the price if they want to charge people for that. But to get down there and then feel that feeling of being up charged for WiFi is not good. We will choose a different resort next time for just this reason. The food was really good by the way. We did have a great time at the resort, but we couldn’t even communicate with our excusrsion people that we bought excursions from bc of the WiFi.
It was nice overall the only thing I didn’t like was the wifi connection . I’ve never been at a resort lately where you have to purchase your wifi
We were there 7 years ago and the service was above and beyond which is why we went back. This time the service was not as great, some waiter argued with us at the Marina restaurant, things moved extremely slow, we also wanted a golf cart to pick us up for check out and they never came so we ended up walking. They now try to charge you $60 for a week of internet per device. I upgraded our room but that still did not come with any internet. I have 4 kids and I was not going to pay $240 for internet. It used to be all inclusive of this. Seems just like the US- service is not good after COVID. We won’t be going back but we do love the area and the fact that this hotel is family friendly.
You should have more free outdoor activities
Very disappointed , The food was horrible. In nine days I think I had a good meal.
The service was excellent. My family and I loved it. The food is wonderful didn’t have a place I didn’t want to eat. I will have to revisit again. I have to add the beach is ugly but the hotel makes it up. And is not the hotel’s fault is just nature.
The beach not really clean
Beautiful grounds, excellent food options and employees were super friendly and helpful. So many pools and restaurants to dine in. Making reservations for some of the restaurant was a pain though and we didn't get to dine at some we wanted to dine in. You have to reserve through the concierge as soon as you check in. Only gave 4 stars because I paid for an "upgrade", which my fellow travelers (we were a group of 30) did not have to pay for the same accomodations. When I questioned it they kept giving me the run around saying I needed to speak to the manager, who was never around. Also, a fellow traveler was charged for a stain on a blanket for which was there when he checked in. For these reasons we probably won't be going back there. It's a shame because we really liked this resort.
I don’t know everything was not what I expected
Took off one star due to no complimentary WiFi. Who charges for WiFi in this day and age? Every other all-inclusive resorts I’ve been in Cancun has provided free WiFi to guests. Very disappointed that Marina El Cid decided to make money this way.
Pools were great food good staff service 50/50
Property has artificial pond in between hotel room building, has lots of mosquito that I don't like it,and beach in not clean naturally that I didn't like it also, though staff very good, room are clean.
Great food
