I booked the Raddison Blu Manchester for a two night's stay within the same week - upon arrival in Manchester from the US and the night prior to my return trip. Overall, the location is great - within a 5 minute walk from the terminal through a covered sky bridge. The hotel and the facilities are ...

What a great hotel. Fabulous food, stunning historic interiors and architecture with stylish updates. Wonderful staff. Perfect location. I hope to come back!
Located next to Piccadilly Station, it is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Chinatown also close by. Driving to the hotel entrance is rather daunting as there are no directions and online maps and satellite images don't make it clear. Phone number provided is for Dublin headquarters and nobody returned calls. Paid parking is limited and spaces are tight. Rooms are like a 1 bedroom apartment with double bed in the bedroom and 2 sofa beds in living room. Deploying both sofa beds is a challenge and furniture needs rearranging. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen equipped with under counter appliances including mini fridge, oven, compact dishwasher, sink and washing machine leaving no space for base cabinet storage. Plates, glasses, cookware and microwave oven in wall cabinets. Entrance hallway is wasted space that should have been integrated with the living area. Hot water for shower varies by time of day. Can be lukewarm around 5 am. Breakfast available at extra cost. You boil your own eggs. Sliced cheese and cold meets available with bread, pastries and yogurt. Good value for the price compared to full service hotels in immediate vicinity.
This is a decent hotel with big rooms at a fairly affordable price. The challenge for my wife and me was we wanted to drop off the rental car and then walk or get a shuttle to our terminal the next morning to fly out of the Manchester Airport. But the hotel is one motorway stop away from the airport! You need to hire a taxi to get to the airport; or to get back from the rental car village. But, the beds are big and comfortable. Just a note if you are returning a rental car: the rental car village is very difficult to find.
Excellent staff. Helpful in a variety of ways. We had varying needs and all were met perfectly this was a good launching point for our walk along the Pennine Way. I would highly recommend his hotel to all traveling in this area.
