My amazing girlfriend and I stayed in a club room which was very nice! The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Amara and Naziya in the club lounge who were great. It was my girlfriend’s birthday so we appreciated the lovely birthday decorations put up for our arrival!
Stayed here 2 years ago and as a return visit had no hesitation on booking again. Booked King club room same as before on 8th floor with access to the lounge. Upon arrival, lovely greeting and check in, entered the room, same as before, nice comfy bed, decent furniture, large TV, nice bathroom albeit a small shower cubicle. Found the room to be a little dusty but maybe hadnt been used for a few days but thought ( wrongly ) it would be dusted during my stay. Found a dirty tissue on the floor when I pulled back the curtain as well. Never made use of the lounge until the next morning, very compact area to help yourself to tea or coffee using a ‘pod’ machine . The apple and orange juice, plus the mixed fruits, milk, ham and salami were all in one fridge, very impractical to be honest, right next to the bread and pastries. Butter, jam, toast and cheese all left out on the side with the boxed cereal. The cheese had mould on, although in date, we alerted the staff to this but you simply cannot leave cheese out of the fridge! Although lots of nice seating, the layout is completely unworkable if more than one person is there. Went out for the day and returned back to the room. The tissue still on the floor, the room not dusted, the flannel nor the shower gel replaced. Next day tried breakfast again, this time the fridge door fell off and there was no ham or salami in the fridge. On asking it was replenished. Again went out for the day but returned in the evening, 45 mins into the 2 hour canapes and drinks time to be told no canapes left but could offer nachos! Returned to the room, still not dusted, tissue on the floor, no flannel replaced but the shower gel was. Never returned to the lounge again until breakfast, whereby there were 7 people vying to get into the one fridge, we gave up and went next door to the cafe! Later in the day, we returned with a friend to eat in the restaurant about 2pm, we were asked for a voucher but didnt know what was being asked, then another staff member asked, then another and when I kept saying I dont have a voucher we just want to eat ( there were people eating in there ) was told the restaurant was closed n had to eat in the bar! Still no idea what was meant by that. The food though was very nice indeed. Never even attempted breakfast on the last morning and the room was never dusted the whole time we were there either! Cannot fault check in/out nor the staff in the lounge but the standard of cleaning was not good at all. Shame. Lesser hotels have better lounge facilities within the IHG group too!
We booked a few months ago to stay for attending a concert on 12 July in two rooms containing two double beds. Firstly upon check in there was an issue with the room rates, totally different to what was booked, even though an ihg member . Then the toilets would not flush correctly, you have to use all your weight to push against the flush button and no hot only tepid water. The breakfast was appalling, hard eggs, over cooked sausages, beans cold, dishes dirty, and poor choices offered on the cold section. Then we found out that another of our party member’s pillow was stained. To top it all, we could not get in our room after breakfast so had a trip down to reception again! All in all a poor experience and shall not be booking again.
This hotel is centrally located in a nice & safe area, with plenty of shopping & eating choices nearby. Rooms were spacious and central A/C worked very well but a couple of odd things: no hairdryer & no hair conditioner. Staff was awesome. Highly recommend this hotel- can’t beat the value for money!
Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Friendly staff anc check in process was quick and easy. Only complaint is the gym was small and didnt have free weights. Only two machines for leg presses and the other for shoulder presses. The room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfortable. Would stay here again if I am back in Manchester.
My 2 year old and 10 month old equally enjoy watching the fish and joining in with the extra activities such as treasure hunting and stamping activity sheets. The centre is really quiet midweek. The 2 year old enjoys stroking starfish
Staff friendly though we were delayed at check-in. The room was quite well appointed and the services - TV, Wifi, Shower - worked well. Our rate included a lounge which was useful - offering pre-dinner drinks 6-8pm Once again, even despite a call to confirm the request for a quiet room, the room we were initially offered was noted by the receptionist as potentially noisy so we were offered another. This room again was on the 5th floor corner and from 5.30am we were disturbed by traffic.
I was staying for 2 nights while attending a conference. The staff on reception were very friendly and made me feel welcome. My room was ok but was looking tired. Paintwork peeling, bathroom door handle was loose, fabric on chairs were worn. Room was behind the lifts so could hear the noise from it when in use. Having stayed at other Crowne Plaza hotels I was a bit disappointed. I visited the bar on the first night. It was very quiet and although acknowledged my bar staff very quickly I wasn’t served for a few minutes while he did something else. That along with an overpriced drink didn’t make the experience good. The hotel is in a good location though.
We stayed here last night and we were very impressed from walking through the door to leaving. The customer service was 5 star and we got a free upgraded room and access to the club lounge. The room was beautiful and immaculate with a great view over Manchester City centre. The breakfast was lovely and the staff we all very friendly and helpful. Thank you for helping to make my anniversary extra special ;)
Good location to explore Manchester, very near the Arndale Centre and a short walk to loads of different nightlife. Taxi is less than £10 from Manchester Piccadilly station. We booked 3 twins rooms for a lads weekend almost 8 months in advance. Went to check in only to be told that all 3 rooms were double beds only. They were adamant that it was not their problem and the only solution that came up with was to put in temporary beds, but to still charge us for that! They gave them at a lesser rate, but still. Rooms are ok, showers really small though and no shampoo
