Booked late for a night bed and breakfast. Good deal. Nice room superior double with great bathroom. Nice toiletries and towels. Bed a little soft and it was a good job we had air conditioning as it was hot. Bar area was ok bar prices a little high. Service great. Breakfast was great and staff helpful. Only downside small shower.
This hotel is centrally located. The staff were very efficient and welcoming. There are pubs, restaurants and shops nearby and walking is easy and flat. Public transport is also prominent, convenient and easy to use. Large rooms with high standard of fittings.
The hotel certainly looks the part, we were impressed when we checked in by the nice finishings and friendly staff. It is also centrally located. Unfortunately they really need to work on the basics like double glazing a decent mattresses - we were offered two different rooms, both of which were of a low standard due to excessive noise from the street and very poor collapsed mattresses, and as a result we checked out at 1am and went to the Premier Inn!
We arrived in Manchester after a LONG flight fro Australia and received a warm and efficient welcome. Our room was ready early so we were able to check in and settle down after a nice hot shower. The Townhouse is well located for everything and povides a good breakfast at good value. The restaurant is also good value. There are pubs, restaurants, and shops nearby and public transport is easy and convenient. Well worth a stay.
Good size room, great price and fantastic facilities. Only criticism would be the late night access to the hotel was not explained or well sign posted that the rear door was to be used rather than the Portland street entrances.
I stayed here for one night on a Saturday I stayed here a few years ago and it's a great hotel in a handy location for all of manchester. I parked at the car park that is on the hotels website because you get 30% discount so it cost me £16 for 24 hours and it's 1 min walk from the hotel. I checked in at the hotel and was given a upgrade which I was very grateful of to a superior king size room with free wine. The room was amazing and bathroom was Huge with a powerful shower. I had a drink in the lovely bar And it is quite expensive even for a hotel bar over £5.50 for a pint of cider .the hotel doors are closed at 11pm and entry is buy pressing the bell which is a good idea and makes the hotel more secure. Check out is 11am and the hotel does breakfast until 11am.when I came to check out Jean on reception even remembered my room numbr from check in which is impressive. Big shout to Jean who gives the hotel a brilliant personal touch.will definitely stay again.
Stayed in this hotel overnight, as going to conference. I found it clean, comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. I had a very large room and it was well stocked with nice products. The full English was ok, but could have been better, with better locally sourced foods.
We stayed for 6 nights and were not disappointed. The breakfast is delicious and cooked fresh as you order. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were on the second floor and had no problem with street noise. Our room was also a good size. We were worried after reading other reviews but we were pleasantly surprised and would stay here again.
Sent this email on Sunday evening and not replied to , poor performance to customer satisfaction... Good evening, I have bust returned home after a trip with my sister to Manchester. After careful consideration with chose to stay with you last night and booked through booking.com. We were aware it was a city centre hotel and that it was central, perfect we though...not. We stayed in room 315 and had the worst nights sleep ever in a hotel, and I go away lots and have stayed in many cities, this was the worst ever. Throughout the night there was lots of noise, shouting and swearing. When we went down to breakfast we were very much looking forward to it. The selection of fruits and yoghurt was a positive start, fresh and nicely presented. The cooked breakfast was served on cold plates and the food was tepid to cold. The breakfast waitress asked how it was and she took it away apologised and said that she would ask the chef to cook us fresh food. It came back piping hot and delicious....sad hat we had had to ask. I have returned home very tired due to lack of sleep and not refreshed at all. The receptionist said we should have asked to move rooms...between 2 am and 6am I would have not liked to have got dressed, packed and moved rooms, not acceptable. I will not be retuning to your hotel as have been incredibly disappointed. I will not recommend to others either. City centre yes but incredibly noisy , such a let down after we were looking forward to it. Regards Mrs Sheila Houston Sent from my iPad
Lovely hotel inside and out and lovely staff, in particular bar tender. The only negative impact I had on this hotel is that they demand they take £50 off you straight at the beginning in which you can either use at the bar or it gets credited to your card within 3-5 days, so they take your money and then you have to wait up to 5 days to get it back. However overall, a lovely stay.
