Stayed here for a couple of nights over the Christmas period. And was pleasantly surprised by the location, cost and service. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only gripe would be the bed was the softest in the world and I have a bad back so it was a bit uncomfortable. I would stay here again and would also recommend to friends. As I have said great location. Thanks for a great couple of days.
Booked the Townhouse last minute and for the price and location expected a functional hotel - it was beautiful! The hotel is tastefully decorated with all the furniture well chosen and well situated, the bathroom was beautiful and the shower had amazing water pressure - I didn’t want to get out! The hotel is very well situated with everything Manchester has to offer within a short walk. The staff were some of the best I’ve seen when travelling, professional, polite, helpful with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was nice and well priced at just £10 pp, much better than most local cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend to anyone reading, you’ll struggle to find such a quality hotel at twice the price in Manchester!
The only soup on the menu was tomato which I cant eat so Chef Mark prepared for me mushroom and tarragon soup which was amazing. With the support of breakfast Supervisor Ian was able to get me what I wanted. My Fiancée has the club sandwich was he thoroughly enjoyed and was very tasty. t
It was my first time in Manchester and I was here for my friend's wedding. The hotel is situated in a great location, walking distance to the main town centre for your shopping and to the local tourist sites. Even though it is situated off a main road/street, it is very quite in the rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. Clean, tidy and spacious rooms. Only downside was the heating, but there were portable radiators which compensated it. Do not let this stop you from staying! The restaurant/bar, lovely food, and quiet. Good to sit back have a drink/snack and relax. Definitely look forward to staying here again.
I won't lie, I was worried after reading the reviews. Pictures looked exactly what I was after however the reviews were so hit and miss. The noise was my biggest concern. On arrival (via train 5 min walk from Oxford road) we dropped bags off but we're able to check in early and go to the room. Located floor 2 I was concerned again but thought I'd see what the room how it would be. Room clean, comfy bed, bathroom perhaps needs some work (drainage of sink / gurgling in pipes after bath emptied and toilet flushed and slightly crumbly ceiling paint above shower) But certainly not enough to put me off. Noise didn't appear an issue at all. Location perfect so walked to get food. Bar back at hotel open 24hours restaurant it until 9pm. At night - traffic from road didn't bother us at all. The people in the street weren't great but between Christmas and New year I guess expected. If it's a Saturday you are staying then I'd understand worries however I was expecting the worst so pleasantly surprised! Room had tea / coffee facilities, freeview tv, iron with ironing board, info booklet and menu for room service. I would come back and stay again. But perhaps would be more inclined to look elsewhere on a Saturday if it arose.
clean n tidy well kept rooms massive bed and very comfy breakfast in bed was nice and hot ideal location for teh night life aswell. drinks are expensive in the hotel so take your own lol only critasim was the air con kept the room cold even when turning heating up on it other than that no issue
We have stayed here twice and both times we found this hotel to be excellent. Staff are very helpful and friendly. It is conveniently located in the city centre and the rooms are of a very high standard. We have stayed in both the Executive and Classic rooms. You even get a bath robe and slippers. It is our first go-to choice when visiting Manchester. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms have plush carpets and nice hot showers. Wifi access very good. Nice big TV. I am not a fan of Nespresso coffee machines. I would much prefer to have a normal espresso coffee machine, but that's just me. I would recommend this hotel to anyone; excellent for couples.
Was going to a concert in Manchester did not want to drive home after the concert so thought will stay in a hotel. What a great way to end an evening. Hotel is clean and spacious the staff are friendly and the rooms are big and spacious. The hotel bar is 24 hrs if required the breakfast was good and service very quick. In your room you get standard brew kit but also get a coffee machine and a safe to store valuables. Ideal location for the city center china town and the gay village also close to the shopping center. Looking forward to staying again and would strongly recommend . It also idel for business meeting ,conferences and parties. The price of this hotel is good for the city center but far superior to some i have used and will be defiantly going back here
Before getting into the review, I want to cite how friendly the staff here are; it’s a pleasure to come back to Manchester and have not just smiles but sincere smiles, and the staff themselves are wonderful. However. The room itself was well appointed; bed was comfy, shower and bath were good and whilst the TV remote was a bit dodgy (which hotel room remote isn’t) everything was shaping up for a solid nights sleep. Unfortunately we were on the Portland street side, and to say you could hear everything and everyone going past would be an understatement. Alongside this, once we used the toilet, the flush appeared to break- it has been constantly refilling for a few hours in spite of how many times it’s flushed. Not a great nights sleep. I managed to get a few hours, and would have happily forgiven this if breakfast was good. It looked promising; continental buffet wasn’t too shabby, and the menu was looking good, with proper bury black pudding on the menu. My wife ordered the boiled egg and soldiers (soft boiled) and I got the full English, asking for the scrambled eggs to be cooked well. What we got was microwaved scrambled eggs that were basically like the little balls you get on 5g AstroTurf pitches, a microwaved rasher of bacon that was rock solid, beans with a lovely skin on top, undercooked black pudding and two hard boiled eggs. My wife asked for the eggs to be redone, and after 15 minutes of waiting we left. It’s a real shame as the place itself is fine, and the staff are ultra friendly. But not getting the basics right is pretty poor.
Great staff, friendly and helpful, perfectly located, lovely breakfast and excellent room service, I will definitely be staying here again can't wait to go back, the room was perfectly sized and had a great view, if you are planning on staying in Manchester it it reasonably priced and in the perfect place, I would recommend
