This hotel has basically what you need when you travel unless you depend on dining in the hotel. Breakfast is basic but has what you need for breakfast like cereals, fruits, juice, tea/coffee, yogurt, bread, croissants, muffins, scrambled eggs, beans and sausages. Rooms are modern and staff pleasant. I would also recommend to use the transport company you can call on direct line from reception. Their prices seems cheaper than what we paid using other companies. They charged fixed price of 18£ from hotel to airport. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the Arndale shopping centre and other shops in the city centre. Bus and train stations are also not far away.
Myself and my partner went to Manchester to do the indoor sky dive at ifly then booked into the Holiday inn express. We found parking very close for £6.50 for 24hrs, check in was easy, our room was modern, very clean and the bed was super comfy, the shower was huge and hot. Our included breakfast was buffet style with everything to choose from. Really did enjoy our stay and the location was perfect for the Printworks (an enclosed area with loads of restaurants and bars) also close to the Arndale shopping centre and plenty more bars and shops, would definitely recommend this hotel.
After a slight "glitch" with the Sat Nav we found the hotel and were very quickly booked in and in to our room, a well appointed room, well equipped, just the right place for a brief stopover. The staff are very helpful and friendly and pointed us in the right direction for the places we needed to visit. The discounted rate at the NCP car park is very useful. The Metro is only 5 minutes away (at a slow walk) and the Arndale centre just as close. If you are staying here, please visit the Cat Cafe just 50 metres from the hotel.
Stayed here because we were going to see take that at the Etihad arena , 10 min walk from Piccadilly and even shorter from Victoria , I did notice a lot of homeless and people drinking on the streets walking to the hotel from the station and I felt very uncomfortable at the night time, although when you turn into the street the hotel is on there weren't any around there and it is in a nicer area, the rooms were very clean I had a good nights sleep, breakfast was great one of the best I've had. Staff were very friendly I would definitely stop here again good location
I have visited the hotel end of July 2017, the reception & housekeeping staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean, location is very close to the city center. Unfortunately the breakfast is not as I have expected they have (eggs - beans - pork sausage - pork bacon) I am talking about the hot dishes, most people like to eat eggs and beans in the same time not many people like pork so they should've had instead of two pork dishes, one, and the 3rd option should've been either hash browns or grilled tomatoes, I speak as an international traveler not a local traveler. I did speak to some of the staff about the breakfast, there answer was, you are not the first to complain, but you can speak to the manager. Bathroom, the shower drain was plugged, in which I have complained and no action was taken. That's is my experience in the hotel Excellent staff (reception- housekeeping) Nice location Breakfast need management action and modification Room maintenance need serious following up In my opinion, small changes can make big difference in travellers satisfaction level Regards Khalid
Well this place defiantly needs a House Keeping Review. The Lounge area on arrival at 22:30 was littered with dirty cups glasses, plates there unfortunatly was not one single clean table to sit at. Once sitting then you start to notice just how dirty it is. The Room 213 I just ask the GM to go up have a look at the black chair in the room see for your self. Just the whole place really is not clean.
This is my second visit to this hotel and we chose it because of its location which is right in the city centre and is close to car parking facilities. The reception staff were very helpful with advice about nearby car parking and organised reduced parking charges. The room was clean and well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good but we were unable to have any croissants or muffins because there were none left purely down to the fact that a party of Chinese tourists were piling them into their bags along with fruit, presumably to use at lunchtime as they had already eaten breakfast!! Shame there were no staff supervising the breakfast room. Putting that aside I would definitely recommend the hotel for a city stay.
Stayed here just recently and although it is not a flashy hotel it's location is perfect and good value for money. It has most amenities you will need but only the basics. Small but clean rooms and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Just love this hotel, first visit and not the last. Fab room on the 8th floor amazing city views without the inflated prices. Very nicely furnished room, comfy bed all mod cons and a gorgeous sparkly clean bathroom. Breakfast included in price was much better, hotter and nicely cooked than other mega priced hotels we have stayed at. Could not fault anything and spotlessly clean throughout. Thanks guys, oh and super friendly check in 😀
I stayed in this hotel on a Friday night so that I could spend an evening enjoying Manchester but also a morning visiting the Cat Cafe. The hotel was clean and easy to access. The bathroom was absolutely wonderful and the bed super comfortable. The breakfast was okay for this style of hotel but not the best I have had. It was very busy and the queues were long. That being said, I have nothing to complain about. Would stay again.
