This is a lovely hotel in a great location near the metro and tram. The lobby and atrium are beautiful and the rooms comfortable and quite nice—clean and modern. I was in Budapest for a week but left for a few days to go to Rome. The hotel held some luggage for me and had it waiting when I returned. The rooms each have a local cell phone you can take with you and always have internet access when you are out and about. That is a great idea and a really nice touch. Overall I had a terrific stay and highly recommend this hotel!
We stayed here for 3 nights. Check in at 2pm. Paid extra to have a room which has a window as all other rooms are without a window. Room was noisy as could hear traffic and drunk people outside. The bed was squeaky. Everytime I sat on it or turned my side while sleeping, it was very squeaky. Basically the bed was old and broken. I had rubbish sleep all the 3 nights which ruined my day. I complained about the bed and noise at the reception but nothing was done. Specially about the bed. The breakfast has not much variety so we ate just for the sake of eating as it was included. The hotel outside has some homeless people and area looks shabby. So the conclusion is: Will I return to Budapest- Yes Will I stay at this hotel again. NO Please choose another hotel where you can have a good night sleep. Hope this will help others travellers to make a decision.
We liked this hotel very much. It was reasonably priced, check in staff was very friendly and hotel just had all we needed for an efficient business trip. Rooms very small but with a modern decor and good AC. Corridors very lovely decorated and I also liked the sculptures and a big pendulum on the wall. Breakfast was plentiful and even offered champagne. Coffee was also decent. There is a cash machine just outside of the hotel and metro station is minutes walk. The only minus was that there was not a bar to get drinks in the evening.
This hotel is a nice and friendly place to stay in Budapest. It is well located for seeing the city sights and visiting many nice restaurants. The rooms are quite small but since you don't spend much time in them this is not a major problem.
Although not situated in the most scenic of locations it is ideal for transportation links. As indicated by the hotel's name the rooms are located around an atrium which is nice and airy however, this does cause an echo effect which means all of the sounds carried into the room. The room was on the small side and felt a bit claustrophobic as the only window was facing the atrium and you needed to close the curtains otherwise other residents could easily see into the room when passing by. I gather there are rooms with windows on the street side. Notwithstanding that the room was adequate and furnished in a modern style, Tea and coffee is provided for the first night and you get this replenished free via reception. Bathroom contained all the usual facilities and the free Wi-Fi has a good signal. The TV did not contain all of the stations described and was on the small side. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the staff throughout the hotel are very friendly. The reception staff were particularly helpful and were happy to explain and book anything I required. On the whole I would recommend.
Visited last week with 3 friends and we booked 2 standard twin rooms. First impressions of the hotel were good as the public areas were furnished in a very contemporary style. The check in process was very smooth and we were allocated adjacent rooms on the 4th floor. Having looked at the hotel's website on my return, all of the pictures show spacious light and airy rooms. However, the reality was very different! We were allocated rooms 403 and 404 which were tucked away in a corner of the hotel. Although the rooms were both clean and fairly modern, these were probably the smallest hotel rooms I have ever come across. I was in 404 and the two beds were pushed together leaving about 18 inches of space on either side and not much more at the bottom. If one of us was sitting at the dressing table there was barely enough room for the other person to squeeze past. The other room was even smaller and in fact was not much bigger than a cabin on cruise ship! The long narrow windows were high up the wall and as a result there was hardly any natural light getting into the room. Both bathrooms were pretty standard with shower cubicles and they did have decent showers. On the plus side, free use of wifi and a safe were included. Breakfast was served in the restaurant which was located in the atrium and was light and airy. There did appear to be a bar in the restaurant although it wasn't actually open while we were there. The breakfast itself was tasty enough but quite basic compared to other city hotels I have stayed in recently. It consisted mostly of bread, meats and cheeses along with a couple of cereals, yoghurt s and tinned fruits. If you prefer a cooked breakfast the choices were quite limited - scrambled eggs, small frankfurter type sausages and ratatouille. I found that the hot water for tea was from an urn and was not hot enough although I often find this to be the case in hotels abroad. The hotel is not in the best location in the city although public transport links are all within reasonable walking distance and there are a few restaurants and bars nearby. Personally, I would prefer to be a bit closer to the Vaci Street area where there are shops and bars galore on my next visit. Word of warning about the taxis! We only used taxis twice and on the second occasion the driver tried to charge us 4,800 HUF for a short 5 minute journey. We challenged this and threatened to report them to their head office and eventually paid 3,000 HUF which was still too much. I have since read another review which said that there are some taxis which are not genuine so I would recommend agreeing a price before you get in the car to avoid being conned!
The Atrium Fashion Hotel is not flash but the rooms have everything you need and the whole place feels calm and quiet while being close to a major transportation hub. It is a short walk to the metro, tram and bus stops that serve the city of Budapest. Our room, like most, overlooked the atrium although there are larger rooms with a street view. There are also connecting rooms for families. It was not large but was well equipped and the shower was good. Toiletries are minimal. Extra tea and coffee supplies are available from reception (or from breakfast). The bed was low but large and comfortable. Breakfast was a self-service buffet but staff were happy to help e.g. to warm croissants or get extra sparkling wine. There was a good range of foods and drinks which were constantly replenished. The reception staff were very helpful and there was also a free take out mobile phone to provide maps, tourist information etc which we found very useful. We thought the hotel was well sited for exploring Budapest and was good value.
The hotel isn't in an amazing location but still within walking distance of most things. We walked everywhere whilst we were here, whether it was to the lake to ice skate or to the center for a night out. We only used the hotel as a hub and spent little time there but I would recommend it if you need a centralised location. We found it through a deal and paid £120 for flights and 3 nights stay in December 2015 otherwise we wouldn't of chose it but glad we took the deal! Make sure you get the taxi from the airport through the hotel because we were stung on that front.
The rooms are fairly small but they make good use of the space. The decor is contemporary and nice. Some small parts of the room were dusty (e.g. towel rail in bathroom, inside cupboards etc) but otherwise the room was very clean. I was not happy with the toiletries supplied though - I had imagined there would be proper shampoo and conditioner with it being a four star hotel and thus I did not bring any of my own. However I was disappointed to find there was only a '2 in 1' shampoo and shower gel dispenser in the shower, which was very watery. I have medium length, thick hair and I had to use vast amounts of it on my hair to create a lather, and then there was no conditioner so my hair was left very dry. This is about my only complaint for my entire stay though which says a lot about the hotel in general. Breakfast is great - a lovely wide selection of tasty food. I am vegetarian and felt very well catered for. I ate much bigger breakfasts than I normally do at home because it was all so tasty! There was no English breakfast tea put out at breakfast, but a relative of mine asked staff for it each day and was duly supplied with some. The staff here at absolutely fantastic and the highlight of the hotel. The reception staff all speak impeccable English, are friendly, warm and welcoming, polite, and are always willing to help tourists decide what to see, where to eat, and explain how best to get where you want to go. I would stay here again if I visited Budapest and that is mainly for the fantastic service the staff offer! They are a credit to their country!
The location of the hotel is very good its in the heart of the city as well few steps to metro, tram or walkable distance to some of Indian restaurants. but the rooms size is too small & you cannot count this as 4 or 5 star hotel, good breakfast helpful staff.
