The hotel is on the Buda side of the river, but there is a bus stop just a two minute walk away! It's a 10-15 minute ride during rush hour or 5 minutes when quiet. The hotel is on a busy road but it didn't bother us at all. The hotel was nice and clean, the room was a good size, we had two single beds in ours which was OK for us. We had breakfast in the hotel most mornings, it was OK and there are tea making facilities in the room as well. We like a cuppa so wanted more tea bags and milk wasn't supplied but the guys on reception couldn't have been more helpful! They were also happy to help with any queries about getting around and what to see and do.You can buy single bus tickets from reception and there is a bar - restaurant a minutes walk away. There is also a nice shopping center a short walk away which has a food court in it. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!
Hotel Mediterran is next to Budapest conference center and next to a fairly busy intersection. Hence some rooms are quite load (also due to some road constructions), but the windows are modern. The rooms are slightly aged, but functional and clean. Breakfast is okay. It is really easy to take one of the many buses to the city center.
The place in Buda area. We was in June. During of 4 days was no air conditioning in the hotel . Was very very hot in room. And was impossible to open the window because strong noise outside. The breakfast in the hotel is regular for three stars hotel. The hotel defines as four stars hotel, but it level is maximum three stars!
Just back from a lovely weekend break at the Hotel Mediterran Budapest. Great value for money, excellent knowledgeable staff, hotel was clean. The jacuzzi/spa room was a bonus. Bus stop only a few minutes away which takes you into Budapest,
I cant be more satisfied we stayed the night at the Mediterranean hotel right away we new we would love it the plople here are really friendly and just the tranquility and peace we had were able to have a magnificent night plus the breakfast is fabulous i would recomend anybody to stay at the Mediterranean best experience ever 👍😄😄😄😄
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. We didn't eat here so couldn't comment on food or drink. The beds are comfy, the rooms are very clean and have everything you need, the staff are helpful, friendly and approachable and the location is great! Despite being next to a busy road; if you get a side/back room, this shouldn't be a problem. The restaurant up the road has great food (slightly slow service) and their house wine is 79p a glass! -winner! The location has great transport links too :) the only thing I could fault was the air conditioning isn't cold enough and the builders next door start around 7.00/7.30am which is pretty loud! The jacuzzi that you can book is recommended! We had a great time in the sauna. Would definitely stay again. Really enjoyed Budapest x
Its 30 degrees and I was informed by the guy on reception (at 9pm Tue 13th June) that the air con isn't working, as a consequence we had to open the only window in the room to what is the loudest road I have ever heard, making for an impossible nights sleep, the guy on reception said "there's nothing I can do" now that may be the case regarding the air con but he could have done something like maybe offer us a cold drink on the house considering we were sweating in our room, or a discount of some kind. Other than this issue it is a good hotel but very disappointed over how this was dealt with.
We have a good impression about the hotel. The room was nice, clean .The staff was gentle. The hotel it is nearly by the city center, ten minutes with bus,100 metre distance by hotel.Budapest it is beautiful.
Last weekend 9 of us traveled to Budapest. We had clean rooms and bathrooms, very friendly staff, good english speakers, the food was excellent, good and rich breakfast buffet, the sparkling wine was quite a surprise. Some of us enjoyed also the SPA, which you should program in advance. It is small, cosy and very nice. I recommend this hotel not only as a tourist, but also as a touroperator.
We just spent 4 nights at this hotel and were very happy with the friendliness of the staff. They helped organise our visit and made special arrangements for us. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and they served a good breakfast. We also enjoyed the small spa at the hotel. The location in Buda doesn't feel like the center of town, but with bus and tram stops nearby, it only takes a little time to go to different sections of the city. The Gellert Baths are only 15 minutes away. All-in-all we would definitely recommend this hotel.
