We stayed at room 4444 from january 21 to 24 in 2018. Well placed hotel in Pest near danube river (at back of Marriott Hotel) with its bridge to Buda and near shops and restaurants. King bed room is small but it is silencious, renewed and cozy, and mattress is confortable. Bathroom is large, new and with a great shower and bath tube. Temperature of room is easily controlled by us. TV has international shows like CNN ad BBC in english. Receptionists are friendly and educated. But.... breakfast is in a dark, not cozy area, with a terrible machine coffee, few options of bread and ham, few sweets, but fruit salad is good. You cam ask omelletes or scrumbled eggs with any stugg at balcony, but my eggs were bas during two times. My friend had stomachache for 2 times after breakfast. So they need to improve the hygiene or validity of food. They do not refill stuff frequently so you have to ask for. I did not see good quality of food (ham, cheese, bread, sweets) for a 4 star hotel. Even my reservation was fully paid by my travel agency Decolar/Despegar, they noted data of my credit card at check in, and at the final at check out they charged us 7.5 euros for extra taxes for government. I did not feel good after these issues. I do not know if i will come back to this hotel anymore.
The hotel is very clean and has very good location, very short walk to restaurants and shops and to the river. All the staff was very friendly. I had a very late check-in, in the middle of the night and at the room a sandwich and soda waited for me, it was a very nice gesture. The breakfast is fine. You can choose between four different pillows and you can have softer mattress if you want. I liked this hotel very much and would stay here again.
I stayed here with my fiancee for my birthday weekend. Upon arrival the hotel has a friendly and warm feel and the staff at front desk were ever so polite and helpful. The room was clean, modern and spacious but cozy. The thermostat/heating was adjustable and easy to work so the entire stay was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to several main metro, tram and bus stops, shops, bars, restaurants and a short walk from the riverfront and Chain Bridge. The highlight for me was coming back on the evening of my birthday to a happy birthday letter complimentary bottle of fizz. You won't find a better hotel in a better location for the price so don't bother looking!
The hotel has an excellent location, a few meters away from the Danube river and steps away from the touristic centre of Pest. It has great service as everybody was very nice and helpful. The room was neat, clean and with pleasant minimalistic design.
I asked them to call me a taxi this morning and they called a limo. Had no time to call a NEW taxi with a meter and was very disappointed. I do not like these personal arrangements and find is unacceptable. Not good to cheat your guests--especially when your company is a regular client. A'hem!
This hotel was perfect for our Christmas weekend in Budapest. Within walking distance of shopping, Christmas markets, the Danube, and all the main sites. Great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed at this hotel as we had family staying at the Marriott next door but didn't want to pay the Marriott prices. In hindsight we should have just payed the extra amount to stay in a much nicer hotel. On the good side this hotel is very well situated with a short walk to the Danube and the sights along the river. I can't comment on getting taxies, etc as we always met up at the Marriott and took taxies from there. We arrived early as we were getting off a river cruise so had to check our bags and come back to check in later. No big deal we expected that. When we came back in the late afternoon we were given a room on the first floor. This room was dark and looked out onto the street and the Marriott's cement wall next door. Very uninviting. When I asked if there were any other rooms we could look at we were told that there was a room on the 4th floor but it was much smaller than this room so we wouldn't like it. I asked to look at it and then had people arguing with us about the room. it was like pulling teeth to get someone to show it to us. FINALLY we were taken up to the room and outside of one of the walls being slanted it was exactly the same size and much lighter and more comfortable looking than the first room. So, we moved to the new room. The next issue that cropped up was this hotel offers air conditioning and heat but not at the same time. Our room was very hot and in our attempt to cool it down we actually made it hotter. It took two people from the front desk for us to finally understand that we had heat only. Luckily we were able to open the window to let in the cool air. The room itself was fine. It was fairly bare bones, but not atypical of European hotels. The breakfast was decent. Others have mentioned that the food is lukewarm. We asked about getting a to go cup for our coffee/tea as we had an early tour scheduled and were told the only way to get a to go cup is if we bought a coffee at the bar after already paying for breakfast. So we just went over and got a free one at the Marriott. The front desk staff seemed overwhelmed, or their systems are just really slow as everything seemed to take a while and there was always a line. Because of this the service just wasn't at a 4 star level. I would not return to this hotel if we make it back to beautiful Budapest.
Very good hotel, very close to the city center, the rooms are big enough, also the bathroom. Unfortunately i didn't find the shoes and the bathrobe, since is a 4 start hotel, they should have it. The breakfast is great also, you can have the eggs as you want cooked in front of you. The gym is very very small instead and not very well equipped. I've spent 3 nights there and the proximity to the center is a big plus. They have a nice restaurant for dinner also, just in case you are not in the mood to leave the hotel.
Excellent hotel. Located in an excellent location. Rooms are modern, relatively large. The service is excellent. Breakfast is rich and fresh. The atmosphere is pleasant. The hotel also has a very nice bar.
