Well located hotel, walkable into town, and in a rennovated historic building. The rooms are modern, comfortable and well appointed. Unfortunately, it is let down by poor maintenance. In one room, the shower was faulty: water sprays up to the ceiling; the small shower was leaking and inoperable; and the temperature control got stuck on scolding hot - apparently a known issue but not addressed. The front desk was good enough to move us to another room. But, in this room, the temperature control on the air conditioning didn't working properly and so the room was very warm at night. Then, on the third day and without explanation, all the water was shut off for maintenance - with no notice to guests. Not the best experience.

Unacceptable Service and Broken Rooms

We had to change rooms three times during our stay. First, the shower was broken in the original room. Then, in the next two rooms, the air conditioning didn’t work at all. Worst of all, the hotel manager never showed up to address or resolve the problems. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

I don't think the rating for this hotel is accurate. Just because you have a great time in Budapest doesn't mean your stay at this property was wonderful. While the hotel itself is beautiful, they lack the customer service expected from such a highly-rated establishment. The manager is to blame for hiring a staff that doesn't possess the sophistication needed to deal with customers from around the world. When I first arrived, I knew I was early for my check-in and expected to drop off my luggage and come back later. However, as soon as I reached the front desk, the agent checked my credentials, stepped away from the desk, and told me to leave and return at the correct time. I found this interaction to be quite insulting. Upon finally checking in, I noticed there was no iron in my room, so I called the front desk to request one. The person I spoke to informed me that they didn't have any available. When I asked if there was a service for pressing my shirts, he giggled and said no. He then mentioned he would get one to me when it became available but added, "I have no idea when that will be. What do you want from me? We don’t have any." The following morning, I decided to have breakfast at the hotel. When I informed the hostess that I had not paid for the breakfast package and asked if I could charge it to my room, she returned while I was getting a glass of orange juice and asked me to put everything down and sign a piece of paper before proceeding. Overall, this place is okay

Good hotel for a city break. Great location with all the main attractions walkable (if you are not lazy). Breakfast was limited and they ran out of orange juice on our last morning! Breakfast area could have been cleaner. There is no bar as such but to be honest not really required when these are plentiful in the surrounding area. The room safe did not work and even though this was reported it was not resolved.

Great Hotel in an Ideal Location

This hotel is fantastic! The rooms are very comfortable, with good wifi, coffee maker, and mini fridge. I tried out the sauna in the hotel spa, which was lovely. There is a nice sitting area off the lobby with free coffee, water, and wifi, so a nice place to sit if you arrive before check-in or just need a place to have some down time between activities. Location is excellent! The District VIII neighborhood is quiet, but still within a few steps of several nice restaurants and cafes. A short walk takes you to the more boisterous District VII for bars and shopping. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Eurostars is a Spanish hotel chain, so Spanish is spoken by the staff as well as English, and signage throughout the hotel is in Hungarian, Spanish, and English. I would absolutely stay here again!

We had a relaxing holiday at this hotel. The receptionists are very nice and helpful; they responded kindly to every request. The breakfast is varied and tastes good and not too salty. The waiters are nice and work hard to take used plates away. There are free sauna and the reception turns it on 15 minutes before use. The room service is tidy and clean. There are food streets nearby and within walking distance at Vaci street. In general, the prices in Budapest are reasonable, people are nicely behaved, there are plenty of sight-seeing places, such as museums, palaces, baths, river, parliament. Although not as grand and delicate as other European cities such as Paris, Roma, Vienna or Prague, it nevertheless deserves a top-10 spot and has its own treasures and characters to present to the visitors.
