We were warned before we arrived that the hotel was undergoing renovation. We weren't bothered by any noise. The lobby was cordoned off but not really an inconvenience. The hotel looked like it needed updating so hopefully all modernizing has been finished. Hotel is about 7 miles from the airport. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. We walked to all attractions. A wide variety of high standard foods were provided at breakfast. Our room offered safe, fridge/minibar, iron/ironing board, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, heated towel rack in the bathroom. Free internet. No clock and no facecloth. There is a pool but it's quite basic. I don't think there is ac in the room. Even though the hotel was being renovated it was still the standard we expect from a Radisson.
Good points- good location and Staff very friendly and are extremely helpful and I can imagine the hotel to be very beautiful however..... Bad points... the extensive building work that starts at 7am every day including Sunday's with builders shouting in the street outside your room. The jack hammer starting at 9am every day even if you wanted to relax in the hotel in the afternoon you couldn't. I pity the staff. No prior communication to say this was going on otherwise I would have changed hotel.not what I expect from a raddisson blu. Rooms extremely hot and not able to control, bathrooms need updating - my friends in the other room not having their room cleaned for two days, I could go on!
We stay at the hotel as part of large group tour, so the experience might not reveal the best of the hotel can offer Radisson Blu Budapest is a 4 star hotel with great exterior design. They provide good and ample breakfast in Budapest, and the bed firm which is good to support my back while sleeping, also they have a hot cloth hanger in the bathroom, so our clothes can be dry properly. The location of this hotel is in the middle of Budapest main road, so you have many eateries, shops, and also mini-mart at your door step. I know, it is not centrally located near the centrum / danube river like the other five-star hotel, but this location is quite strategic to enjoy the beauty of Budapest.. We found that the hotel also employs people with physical defect, which is awesome!!! One thing to note, some part of the hotel is in need of refurbishment.. i think they manage to re-modernize the TV in my room, but i hope the management can still work on on some other part like the window.. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay! Thank You
Dont expect the radisson deal here , this place is in-need of some serious upgrade , rooms are okey size but furniture are old and bathrooms arent radisson standard at all. I was upset being a frequent visitor to radisson properties.
This hotel is in a good convenient location. The breakfast is very good, lots of options; although the the staff in the breakfast room tend to grab your plates when you are half way through eating, which I found very annoying. The room was comfortable and typically European (small single beds); but they did have tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom is small, as is the shower/bath. It has a shower curtain which sucks in on you making the showering process a little difficult. Water pressure in the bathroom in OK. Staff at the front desk were friendly. There is a renovation occurring on the ground floor, but it doesn't inconvenience you, reception is on first floor.
Just stayed two nights over a weekend. Great location, typical of all city centre hotels, some constant traffic noise. Our room wasn’t one of the refurbished ones but it was comfortable nonetheless despite individual single duvet covers on a king size bed. Unusual. We had been advised in advance that refurbishment work was going on so there would be some noise, we had been told this would be Monday to Friday only, but the banging and drilling continued into Saturday. Buffet breakfast was ok, we would stay here again but perhaps we will wait until the refurb works have been completed.
Hotel is in a great location with many bars and restaurants around so you can never go hungry or thirsty! The guys at reception do give you a warning about the renovation (Nov 2017 - April 2018). We got given a room with two single beds which I didn’t realise when I booked online, however when I asked the guys if we can move rooms they did not hesitate and moved us to a room with a king size bed ;) nice chaps at front desk.
Please dont come near this hotel even if it is for free. Noises from the outside all night due to single windows and suddenly you are woken up at 8 am by the sound of thumping and drilling which would make you crazy. 8 am to 5 pm of construction work. The city council must close the hotel down.
First the bad news, we booked our room through a travel agency, back in June and paid extra for an upgraded hotel. I even sent the hotel a message to confirm our reservation and to give us the best way to get to the hotel the beginning of November There was no response. When we arrived, we found out that a renovation was taking place. We were assured that the renovation would not start until 9:00 a.m. After a 10 hour flight from the US, the renovation began at 7:15 a.m. We were on the 3rd floor. Asked the desk if we could move to a higher floor OR pay extra to upgrade. Hotel sold out for all nights we were there. It really left me with a bad taste. The other days construction did begin at 9am. We did finally receive an answer to our initial email regarding our reservation & how to get to the hotel. It was sent our 2nd night in the hotel. Now the good news - location is perfect! Public transportation is amazing in Budapest - use it and get your metro card! The rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was VERY good with a great selection. Also, wifi was very reliable in the hotel. I do have to point out 2 outstanding employees that really showed their customer service skills. Oliver, at the front desk, was very helpful and gave us wonderful recommendations for eating and touring. Also, Otto in the restaurant for breakfast was amazing. I did not speak to him directly, but he was constantly cleaning up, seating guests and making sure everything was clean and orderly. I asked the hostess what his name was because he impressed me so much.
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times before, and this time I stayed for 2 nights. Usually I like the hotel, but a renovation is ongoing, so everything was chaos. I arrived late in the afternoon, but my room was not ready, so I had to wait an hour, before it was ready. The renovation was really noisy. I have booked a business room, which has a ok size and a view at the street. Even it was at 6. floor and the construction working takes place at the ground floor, there was white dust all over. The heating control didn’t work, so it was always 25-27 degrees in the room, but I could open the window. The bathroom really need a make over. The WiFi worked fine. I had breakfast in the restaurant. The first morning there was no service at all, and you could order any special dishes. The second day the service was much better, where I also got an omelet. The location of the hotel is great, it is in walking distance to every thing. I was not warned about the construction work, and will for sure choose an other hotel as long as it is ongoing. I can recommend Intercontinental, which is bit more expensive. Maybe I will back, when they have finished the construction work.
