Ask for a room on a higher floor overlooking Matthais Church. Terrific place to stay central in the Buda Castle district.

We had a great stay at Hilton Budapest. The room was spacious, very clean, and even came with a kitchen. The kitchen was a nice feature, but it lacked some essentials like pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Having a washer in the room was very convenient, though it could use a bit more maintenance as the silicone had some mold. The service from the staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, which made a big difference. The location was excellent for us — on the quieter Buda side, right next to Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church. We really enjoyed the peaceful neighborhood. Since it’s up on the hill, restaurant options nearby are limited, but it was easy to take the bus up and down to reach more choices, as well as the metro and tram. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, though the quality was just average. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we return to Budapest.

This hotel is located on the Buda side of BudaPest. It's above the river looking down towards the Parliament in Pest, plus you're looking at the river and everything that's going on. The Buda side is quieter than Pest. We spent a day in Pest touring and had lunch. If you're looking for shopping, Pest is where you'll find it. In Buda, we toured the Buda Castle museum, which gives you a very good history of Hungary, but Buda is quieter than Pest. There are a couple of restaurants that over look the river too. In the restaurants in Budapest, there is a gratuity of 15% added to your check. If you're paying with your credit card, there are options to add a tip that the waiter says he would receive. Don't be fooled!! The 15% is given to all the staff, including the waiter. Also, pay in Hungarian currency as the restaurant could charge a currency exchange fee. Budapest is a very nice ciity, but you have to be on guard.

What a beautiful location. One feels like you are living in a fairytale land. Do get a reservation after dark at the rooftop bar. Pricey but incredible. We had a lovely meal at Maison which is not on the hotel list. Otherwise restaurants on the hill are very tourist oriented. It is under $10 to taxi down or take the funicular to the lower area and even over to the Pest side. Definitely reserve and tour the Parliment building. the Hospital in The Rock on castle hill is amazing. Akin to touring the War Rooms in London but more! My only negative was that the concierge at the Hilton was quite rude and dismissive. We asked other employees for help after 2 experiences with him. Everyone else was helpful and stellar.

An outstanding hotel by any standards. Staff all helpful, smiling, efficient. Room was very large, clean and well appointed. Enormous buffet breakfast. Hotel is in the historic (and beautiful) Castle district in Buda. Good inexpensive restaurants nearby. Close by, bus #16 goes to Pest.

Superb location - right next to the beautiful Fisherman’s Bastion and Buda Castle. It was so convenient to see the Danube River and the stunning Parliament building any time of the day and night. The rooms were comfortable spacious clean and cozy. The bathroom was big clean and water pressure was perfect. The Lang Grill restaurant was great- great views and excellent food. Breakfast was excellent Overall one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Very impressed and will definitely recommend to friends
