This is a small, clean hotel by a canal in a quiet area no more than 10 minutes walk from the Markt. There are coffee making facilities, mini bar with reasonable prices, safe and toiletries in the room. Adequate buffet breakfast; croissants, cold meats and cheese, eggs, yogurt. A good hotel for a short stay.
The location is excellent, being close to the main squares etc. The rooms are not large, but very comfortable with good free WiFi, safe, kettles etc, and the hotel is very quiet. The breakfast was good with nice coffee and a good buffet of breads, pastries, fruit, ham, cheese, eggs etc. The secure parking which can be booked ahead is 400 metres away, over the canal, so not a difficult or long walk. The accommodation costs were very reasonable in our view.
A very pleasant boutique hotel - clean, comfortable, friendly staff and very central for easy walking distance to city centre - continental breakfast included with good selection of fruits, cereals, cheese and cold meats
The gentleman who checked us in was rude and short. Felt like we were inconveniencing him. The parking is not close. It’s about a 10-15 min walk. There is no air conditioning so you need to sleep with the windows open. You can hear EVERYTHING happening outside. We stayed in October so it wasn’t hot, but there is no way I’d even consider this hotel in the summer. There was a plug in bug killer in our room for mosquitoes. We didn’t have an issue because the weather was too cool, but it’s obviously an issue during warmer months. The bed sucked and my back hurt in the morning. Very old fashioned decor. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Consisted of, several cereals, bread with cold cuts and cheese, some fruit and hard boiled eggs. Breakfast is served from 8-10 and they ring a loud bell at 8am to let everyone know breakfast is served. I’m sorry, I’m an adult and can set my alarm to wake up when I’m ready. Breakfast is served until 10 after all so I’ll come down when I’m ready. The best part of this hotel is that the city center is close enough to walk to. Honestly though, spend a little more and find another hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again. I barely slept the 2 nights we stayed.
Nice quiet location on the edge of the historic part of the City. Walking distance from all the sites of interest. very clean and comfortable, family-run establishment, room small but fine for our weekend break. Public area homely & welcoming with drinks available - although few guests took advantage of this welcome facility. Breakfast included very good coffee ( hooray ! ) and was more than satisfactory if you do not expect " The Full English " ! Overall a very enjoyable first stay in Bruges; almost like staying with friends.
Hotel Bryghia was a step back in time with an old style elevator and older style rooms. Upon arrival the manager was not inclined to help us with our luggage and as the elevator was small we could only take up one suitcase at a time. Breakfast wasn't too bad but mine host was not the most genial fussing more about the food than his guests. The age old system of towels being replaced if left in the shower didn't work here as we had to request clean ones. The saving grace was the location as it was an easy stroll into the Centre and there were so many restaurants to choose from. Bruges is a beautiful old town and we spent two whole days exploring and eating some wonderful food. Our only disappointment came when we arrived home and discovered that the original painting we had purchased did not include the 2 prints that we had been promised by the market seller. All in all our stay in Bruges was probably the 2nd most relaxing part of a six week trip through Europe
The hotel is very welll located close to the town centre yet very quite away from the tourist/traffic noise. Very friendly family people. Relatively small rooms but quite confortably layed-out. Nice breakfast. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
We stayed here for three nights in Aug. 2017. The room was lovely and clean with several mod cons and perfect for our stay. The husband and wife team running the hotel were helpful and provided a yummy breakfast to set you up for the day. It is close to town in a quiet area. The décor is very traditional for Belgium and comes complete with Belgian chocolate on your pillow. Would definitely recommend it and stay here again if we were to return.
Lovely, quaint hotel not far from the centre of Bruges, one of your oldly, worldly type. But don't think it's not got all the mod cons, it's very good. Rooms are a bit on the tight side, but comfy with tea/coffee making facilities. Beds are ample and I'm 6' plus, pillows are too soft, but hey, you can't have everything. Parking is a problem, so unload and put your car in the very large car park at Centrum 't Zand afterwards and leave it there. Breakfasts are good, plenty of fresh choice...and enjoy Bruges.
The reason we first decided to stay at this hotel was the number of lovely pictures plus the opportunity to leave our car in the garage. I must say I did not expect to learn that the hotel was transformed from a historically significant building. As the history of the building goes back to Medieval ages the rooms are also smaller but they are ideal for those who plan to spend more time walking and exploring the city rather than staying in the room. Our room was facing towards the little square near a church. The view from the bedroom and also from the bathroom was really nice. In general, the area was very peaceful. The room was very clean and had all the facilities that was needed. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but we asked for a closed parking space. The garage is located in a couple of minutes walking. The city center is also 10 minutes walking from the hotel and on the way you can already get a glimpse of the amazing architecture and the atmosphere of the city. All in all, a great hotel which is excellent for a weekend getaway in Bruges and reflects the love and passion of the owners.
