It happened that bus drivers were on strike when we arrived, so we walked from train station to hotel. It took 20-30 min with our luggages, just a little bit struggle with suitcases rolling on the cobble stone street. Hotel staff were all very friendly. The room had everything modern standard hotel room has even it is an old building. My husband even found a beer bottle opener! It was very quiet at night even some of our windows faced the street. There was one window facing the canal on which we didn't see any boat coming through. We did see ducklings one morning and a swan another morning on the water outside our window! The breakfast buffet was very good, many choices of bread, cheese, eggs, sausages, cereals and drinks. I wish there were bit more vegetables or fruit. On leaving, we took the bus. The bus stop is only couple of minutes walk from hotel. All in all it was a good place to stay.

This hotel was beautiful. The room was huge. The only downfall was the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything in the room next to us and above us.

Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Close to the main attractions.

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. Perfect location.

The only thing missing was someone to help with luggage and there were many stairs.

Lovely small hotel on a quiet canal a short walk from town center.

I was blown away by how wonderful this B&B is, from the amazing location--quiet but still close to all and on a canal--to the gorgeous breakfast room and delicious meal, the friendly multi-lingual staff, the comfortable room (bed, shower/bath), security, warmth of staff and other guests. Just perfect. I won't stay any other place when in Bruges.

Hotel is rustic because Brugge is protected by UNESCO. Still very clean, staff is very friendly, breakfast is good. So close to the city centre. Also very affordable.

Loved it. Great hotel on a canal. The staff was great.

It was a very nice place -- very quiet and clean. The staff was sometimes not accessible

The location and historical presence could not be better. Internet service is really only available on the downstairs floor. Daytime staff a delight. Nighttime staff is defensive, at least toward our party.

I really liked the hotel but rooms are not very nice

Rooms need more touch from an arcitech. But building is soo nice!

The location was perfect. Close enough to the popular sights, but far enough away from the noise of the city center. The hotel itself is beautiful with 'old world' charm. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint is about the pillows on the bed. They were awful.

We came in from Paris/Brussels via train then took a taxi to the hotel since we did not know where we were going and didn't want to walk in circles with luggage. The taxi charge seemed steep, but when we arrived at the hotel, our room was ready and HUGE. Beds comfortable, bath immaculate, and breakfast absolutely lovely. The hotel staff were friendly, English-speaking and helpful. The squares are easy to find and nearby. Great restaurants, but go to 1900 Frites on the square for "kip' (chicken wings on a stick), which were delicious and I don't care for chicken wings. The weather was cold in late June, so bring a jacket. We felt safe, mostly welcome (the Flemish language is quite different from English and French!), and are happy we visited. The hotel was delightful.

Bruges is an extremely well-preserved medieval city with a number of sights worth seeing. In fact, I would consider it somewhat of a secret. Everyone knows Amsterdam, Brussels, etc., but Bruges is a surprise. The only small negative I can offer is that the hotel uses a mattress pad with a rubber backing. I stripped it off the bed so that I wouldn't sweat like a ditch digger when I was sleeping. Parking in Bruges is a challenge, but once your car is parked it really isn't necessary to use it again until you're leaving. An excellent European breakfast was included in our room rate. It was served in a small downstairs room adjacent to a canal--very picturesque.

We had a fantastic weekend in Brugges even though the weather wasn't great. The hotel is close to the city center, but in a quiet residential area. The personal service was wonderful and the breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.
