My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe room and everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment when we called the inn to say that we were lost and they came and escorted us through the town to the last mimosa at breakfast on the last day we were thoroughly charmed by the hotel and the town. The rooms were in excellent condition with great amenities and appointments, the breakfast was superb, the members of the owners family that we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. We stayed mid-week and the town was very quiet although Saturday morning when we left the town was extremely busy and we were glad that we had timed our trip perfectly. Do rent bikes if possible and get out and ride on the canals - we rode to Sluis across the Netherlands border for a very peaceful day.
Trying to find something wrong with this hotel Impossible all is Perfect The rooms are really nice, original deco, quite and perfectly clean and comfortable The staff is friendly and very helpful The hotel has not too much rooms about 20 and is situated in an old traditional house in the center of the old town Breakfast and bar are also great You can even have a drink outside in a small "cour"enjoying the sun and the noise of this lovely city This is a must be hotel to be recommended to anyone Congratulations to the staff
Just returned from a two night stay with my wife. We travelled to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary and revisit Bruges where we had honeymooned. Excellent first impressions upon arrival at Hotel de Castillion. A small, quiet hotel with tasteful decor and very friendly and efficient staff. The hotel had a complete refurbishment in 2016 and the investment shows. It is excellently situated between Sint-Salvatorskathedraal and Church of our Lady, and only about a five minute leisurely stroll to the Markt. We stayed in the honeymoon/bridal suite which was large enough for comfort whilst retaining a cosy feeling; it was very clean and tidy. The owners were aware of our celebrations and had gone to great lengths to decorate the room with rose petals and hearts. We were soon visited by one of the owners who presented us with glasses of 'bubbles', macaroons and cakes to help us celebrate. The selection available at breakfast was superb. All of the usual cold meats, cereals, breads, pastries, etc. plus a range of fresh fruit, smoked salmon and local cheeses. You'll even find cava and prosecco with the juices. All in all, we had a wonderful experience in Bruges, helped in no small part by our time at this gem of a hotel. Thank you to the owners and staff (including Jack) for making the trip so memorable. We will undoubtedly stay again when we next visit Bruges.
Me and my wife stayed here for a couple of nights we got there early so they let us leave our luggage and then we went out exploring, when we got back our luggage was in our room we had a junior suite WOW what a room I have been to top hotels in Barbados ,St Lucia ,Turks and Caicos ,Dubai but the room was by far one of the best I have stayed in. The location is central and only approx 10 to 12 minute walk from the station. The staff were fantastic Oliver and his sister could not do enough for you the breakfast was great could not fault this hotel will be going back in December . DO NOT BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE STAY HERE
I really hate to submit a review on this hotel because it is such an incredible place I'm fearful there will never be another vacancy. Before we even realized we were at our hotel we were drawn into the charming courtyard. Even in the middle of winter it was inviting. To realize it was our hotel was a fantastic surprise. The staff are pleasant, the location quiet but very convenient to everything and the rooms - THE ROOMS! Adorable. Slightly quirky in a good way but simply wonderful. You can not go wrong by staying here - but save me a room - I'll be back! We were there for the weekend to visit the Christmas markets (other markets are better) but the hotel was very close so it was easy to drop packages and return.
We stayed here for Easter weekend and the whole hotel and staff are amazing. The rooms are spacious, clean and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was great. The hotel bar stayed open for as long as customers were willing to stay up drinking. Location is excellent, plenty of nice little restaurants in the area away from the regular tourist traps. The staff were super friendly, as you would expect from a family run business. This was the perfect visit, will definitely stay here again!
Perfect hotel for a stay in Bruges. Run by a brother and sister, who attended to our every need. Newly renovated with comfortable beds and nooks. In the heart of Bruges, everything you would want...Worth every penny!!! Ultra fine French decor.
What a great stay! Let me tell you, I was very hesitant on booking this hotel due to the lack of reviews and some bad ones I found on various sites. The hotel was recently renovated thus any of the bad reviews definitely are written during that time. Every inch of the hotel looked brand new. Everything is elegantly decorated. The hotel staff was so nice to us upon our arrival. We did not opt for the breakfast as we thought 20 euro per person was a little pricey. I will say though we did have some difficulties finding a breakfast place early in the morning; in hindsight we should have opted for the hotel breakfast. Our room was beautifully decorated. It is a small room but very similar to the typical European size. I loved the location. Very centrally located but away from the tourist traps and hustle bustle. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Very nice, romantic boutique hotel with exellent location. Beautiful building with a lot of character. Be aware you must find parking in one of the Qparks nearby and walk the last 900m. Staff was very friendly. Rooms are actually better than you would expect. Not large, but very cozy. Bed was really nice. Bathroom is large and nice. Breakfast was worth 20€. Can recommend this hotel for couples.
Thanks to the fantastic staff, decor, location and service of this beautiful hotel, I was able to (successfully) propose to my girlfriend! We stayed in the Bridal Suite, which was reasonably priced and worth every euro as there was attention paid to even the smallest of details. A great sized room decorated to feel elegant yet comfortable and homely, with subtle touches to ensure the room surpassed expectations. It also had a beautiful Juliet Balcony which overlooked the courtyard, showing a charming space with a water fountain and soft lighting after dark. The hotel is located on the corner of a beautiful cobbled road, within 5 minutes walk of restaurants, shops and the canals, making everything easily accessible. The best bit - the staff! We could have not had the stay we did without them; a professional, friendly and personal service, but due to the nature of our stay, they went above and beyond to accommodate and make our proposal special. By decorating the room, courtyard and providing their assistance in every way possible, it is truly a service that cannot be topped. It was a fantastic stay which we will remember for the rest of our lives, and we can only say thank you to the incredible staff at Hotel De Castillion, and will ensure that we revisit as often as we can!
