I booked a few days in Bruges as a surprise for my partner. After a little research I came across the Grand Hotel Casselbergh. It looked great online so when we arrived to find it was even better than the pictures we were really happy. With an impressive entrance and welcoming reception upon arrival the Casselbergh was living up to its name so far. It's just a short walk from the main market square and very close to lots of great restaurants and shops. I'd paid for a Canal view room in the new part of the hotel but we were actually put in the old part of the hotel without a canal view. We loved the room so much that we didn't want to change it. It was a big room with a large bed that gave us the best nights sleep. It included all the usual luxuries that made our stay very comfortable. The ensuite ticked all the boxes including a bath big enough for someone of my stature. It comes with complimentary L'Occitane toiletries which gives you that extra feeling of luxury. The communal areas are all finished to a high standard and give the hotel that 5 star feel. Making the whole experience extremely comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast was varied and very tasty. I can't fault the hotel staff they were all very polite and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Grand Hotel Casselbergh was one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a while and we will certainly highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Bruges.
This hotel is right in the Centre for everything - perfect. We were in an Executive room on the top floor. It was peaceful and quiet and absolutely huge. We had a twin bedded room and the beds were very comfortable with lovely hypo-allergenic bedding, as requested. Bathroom was excellent, bath, separate shower and L'Occitane products replaced regularly. We drove there from Northern England and reserved a car space in the amazing car park - drove in through garage doors into a lift, which took us and the car to the super safe car park underground - an experience in itself, especially with a Land Rover Discovery - very good. Book breakfast, as very varied, a Continental, full English and plenty besides.Staff very good and very friendly nothing too much trouble-excellent.
This will be my 6th year of visiting Bruges and my 5th of staying in this hotel. Why do I always stay here? Simply because it is the best hotel in Bruges and run by the best with support of quality and friendly staff. One visit here and you too will look no further, a home away from home. As always you will be looked after by the manager Janick, give it a try and you too will become hooked.
Stayed 3 nights here in a family room. Hotel is beautiful, spotless, great value for money. Location is excellent and is within 5 minutes of market square. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend
Nice hotel with close proximity to everything. Service is decent but the bed is very uncomfortable. There's obviously a dip in the middle of the bed from overuse. It's a shame such a nice hotel has such uncomfortable beds.
I had been two years since we visited and it's still just as great. The breakfast is still one of the best hotels buffets we've had. We spent a lot more time in the hotel bar and sitting area this trip. We were well taken care of. Next time we are in Bruges, GCB is where we will stay.
This hotel is located within 5 minutes of the market square. In addition, it is close to many historical landmarks as well as places to eat. Phenomenal hotel. The staff will is attentive and very responsive.
Well located and spotless - very pleasant staff - relaxing atmosphere - good value for money - we would recommend this hotel as an ideal location for a visit to Bruges - the bar and adjoining salons provide a perfect ambience for relaxation
I spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. It was one of my best experiences ever. Great rooms, great location, amazing staff and service. The library and bar feel so cosy, the premises are beautiful. Close to everything you want and bonus: the underground parking lot. Would definitely go back.
Lovely hotel with excellent, helpful staff to advise on where to eat and of course, where to buy the chocolate to bring home! Our room was very quiet and overlooking the canal which was magical. I was a bit disappointed that we booked our room early on-line for room only but nearer the time the price dropped and included breakfast - but there you go! We ate out and it was ok. Very well located for all the sites. When booking ask for a room overlooking the canal if possible.
