Warm welcome with a voucher for a free cava or beer. Little surprise in the room : Belgian chocolates! Delicious breakfast in the morning. We were unable to use the spa facilities on the day of our arrival but we were allowed to use them the next day after we had checked out.
I am always really disappointed to choose a hotel because the pictures show an oak-beamed room with lovely views on the website. Then you arrive and they say 'You are in the modern part of the hotel' and you find yourself in the Travel Lodge part. Okay, Travel Lodge is not giving it anything like the praise it deserves on luxury or quality but, when you've set yourself up for a pretty room it's disappointing to get a modern, straight-forward room with a high window and three foot window-ledge which made looking at the canal view a bit of a challenge. It was my husband's big birthday so I felt a bit snarly, but then the hotel began to charm me with it's clean, well equipped, bathroom; beautiful communal areas; safe parking; absolutely fantastic buffet breakfast (bacon to die for) and wonderful staff. We ended up loving it and would go back in a heart beat. It is so handy for the city centre and very quiet. Best thing? The bed was huge and so comfortable so we slept incredibly well.
This is a very good hotel inside the old town. Walking distance to all the attractions there. Room is big and cosy, I was given the new room 2316. Food is easily found in the market square and around 8am there vendor selling foods and flower there. If you could wake up early do visit the market. Strongly recommend this hotel if you in Bruges.
Great location and the staff was incredible. Fleur was the best and is super helpful! Couldn't really be located any closer to the main attractions of the town. I would definitely stay again without hesitation.
We loved Grand Hotel Casselbergh! Check in was quick and easy, what a pleasure The room was fantastic. So clean, big, beautifully furnished. It felt like we were in a palace! Exceptional value for money! Dining room was lovely and breakfast was great. I would definately stay here again! Staff was polite and Helpful! Lovely experience!! Thank you.
Stayed at this hotel in the middle of March, romantic break for myself and my girlfriend. We stayed for 3 nights however we did not eat at the hotel, and preferred to try different restaurants and cafes for breakfast and dinner. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, also the room we stayed in was beautiful and clean - I literally have no complaints about this hotel. I would definitely stop here again if I visited Bruges in the future! My stay was perfect, however as advice to future travellers - 1) Breakfast is expensive and that is why we opted for local cafes in the morning, there are plenty within a 2-5 minute walk. 2) Parking is very expensive (all hotels are due to limited room within the city walls). We parked in Pandreitje underground car park which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and costs 8.70Euro per 24 hours :-)
The hotel is a lovely presented hotel in the centre of Brugge. The room we stayed in was fantastic, extremely spacious with everything we needed. The reception process took slightly longer than expected but no issue really. Lovely hotel bar with very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this hotel and use again.
Historical hotel in historical center, next to the burg and a few meters from the markt. Very comfortable, clean and fantastic decoration. Excellent customer service, kind and helpful. Very goo breakfast. We wish to stay more time.
It's hard to add to the extensively positive reviews already written about this hotel. In summary I agree with the majority. I will try and articulate it in a number of bullet points. In the interests of brevity this is a very high standard hotel and worth the money. 😀 - Location - it is ideally placed literally feet from the main attractions and next to a canal. 😀 - Quality of accommodation - it is simply gorgeous and all the pictures accurately show the standard of the rooms - we had a deluxe room and that ensured we were in the old part of the hotel. The room was massive and the sound proofing really does work. We didn't hear one person over three nights! 😀 - Service levels were a high standard with everything clean and tidy every day. 😀 - Breakfast - it runs from 0700 - 1030 so you can get going or have a lazy start. It's a self service buffet style breakfast. Now I always think there are things that can improve so these observations are to help you make a decision about booking. If they are important to you. 🤔 - There is no room service food available - you can have breakfast and drinks sent to your room (extra cost) but outside of that there is no kitchen operating on this site after breakfast. In fact they don't do any other eggs than scrambled and boiled at breakfast - which given its a four star is highly unusual in my experience. It didn't significantly affect our enjoyment but might affect my choice of rebooking if we return. I should make it clear there are plenty of places to eat in Brugge - albeit they tend to get booked up or close early - some at 9pm. My advise is book the best ones via websites ahead of arrival. I didn't have time because of work. 🤔 - Bar service is a bit hit and miss. There does not always appear to be someone working in the bar and when there is a few people in it can take a little time. This might be because we were early in the year and the outside bar wasn't open? So if the room service and lack of a Resturant on site is not an issue then I can fully recommend this hotel to you! Enjoy.
Historic hotel is in great location and offers clean, well-appointed rooms and excellent customer service. Easy to get to, and within walking distance of historic sites, shopping and restaurants/cafes. Highly recommend.
