Unique hotel located directly on the canal. Our room was on the first floor and the window opened right above the water. We enjoyed some visiting swans and ducks in the morning. The room, for the value, was very small but comfortable for a single evening. The bathroom was the smallest we had encountered in our travels through Europe...reminded us of a bathroom one might find in a caravan/travel trailer. Breakfast served in their breakfast room was delicious and plentiful. Centrally located within easy walk to many restaurants, shops and sights of Bruges. Hotel does not offer on-site parking, nor validate for parking. Parking is available at a near-by garage which makes hauling luggage through the street a bit awkward but doable. The bathroom is very, very small.
I stayed here with a group of friends the other weekend in October. The hotel is incredibly centrally located but on a nice quiet street with interesting shops and tasty looking cafes. It is only a 2 star hotel and that is evident from the fact that there isn't always a receptionist on duty and you don't get any toiletries in the bathroom. However, my room was perfectly nice - clean, tidy and a comfy bed. The breakfast was really good - eggs, pancakes, croissants and tasty warm bread and then all the usual continental breakfast supplies you'd expect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downside of this place was the varying quality and size of the rooms. Me and another friend were fortunate to be in spacious comfortable rooms. However, our two other friends who had paid the same as us through the same website were given rooms that were pretty small with bathrooms that were a bit more like wet rooms. Their bedrooms seemed more the size of a room you'd get in a cabin on a boat. One of the rooms didn't have a bathroom door, just more like saloon swing doors with a gap at the top and bottom. That's a bit public for our liking! I had room 106 and another friend had 109 and both were very good so request those if you can.
Very well located in the centre of Bruges, overlooking the canal and 10 minutes walk to market square and many of the attractions. We had an upstairs room overlooking the courtyard and canal; it was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good with fresh bread, croissants, boiled eggs and freshly made pancakes among other things. The wifi worked well. The train times given by the hotel for trains back to Brussels were incorrect for a Sunday (when trains are less frequent) so worth checking travel arrangements carefully.
The cost I paid was around 105 E/night. At the exact same price I stayed in Brussels in a fabulous apartment with all new furniture and a real bathroom, also in the center of the city. Do not stay here! If you are a new couple you will get to know each other very very well because of the bathroom. The bathroom is a very very small plastic unit maybe 2 sqm in total that has mold and has no real doors. The door is made of 2 plastic parts but it also has a lot of space below and above it, making it useless against noise/smell. So it's like sleeping in the toilet. The shower water comes from the ceiling and you have to wash your hair every time you shower. Do not use the shower curtain as it is old and dirty. The plastic unit was not clean, I found hair and the towels were yellow/grey. The staff is rude and is not there all day so there's nobody able to help you later in the day. They asked for the money first thing and did not even show us the room before paying. There are signs everywhere to not take food from the breakfast room or you will pay. The breakfast is very low quality, why would I want to take it anyway? Juice tastes like medicine, coffee tastes like dirt. The only nice things here are the view towards the canal with swans and the distance to the city center. But it's not worth it, I'd rather stay farther and with no view.
Quite a gd location in brugge but not too professional as we had a maintenance team working next to our room with noise and we called the reception to inform she asked to come down and ask because she is busy Breakfast not bad Room very small
We loved staying at this hotel! We requested a canal view room and were not disappointed. The room itself was very small and simple. The bathroom was incredibly small and was the only downfall of this hotel. The hotel offers an awesome breakfast each morning and the location cannot be beat. You are a 5-10 minute walk from the Markt, but set back on a quiet street. Absolutely lovely city and hotel. Would recommend to those traveling on a budget and who do not plan on spending much time in the room. ps. Bring your own toiletries. This hotel only offers an all-in-one shampoo, body wash and handsoap.
Great, since I got it on a special offer from 195€ at 89€. Can't beat that price for a room right on the channel! Awful, because of the bathroom! The only place I have experienced a bathroom like that, was travelling on Greek ferries between islands. It is basically an all in one plastic unit, like a cupboard, with a tiny little shower where you had to choose between getting the whole place wet or having the shower curtain stick to your body! There was only soap from a wall dispenser with no shampoo or body lotion. The towels were also not the white 'hotel style' towels, but a brown/apricot color. On the other hand the location was fantastic, with parking just a two minute walk away, and right in the heart of beautiful Bruges. The staff was also very helpful and pleasant. Then there is the breakfast! Very basic, coffee from a machine, no real butter... I really want to give this place a good review, but I have a feeling that one can do better for the original price. If I had paid 195€, this would have been very very different review. So I am going to go with 'average', since I got what I paid for.
Stayed here for my husbands 40th in July with two other couples. I booked the honeymoon suite, and was not disappointed. It was only 20 Euros extra and worth it for the extra space. The hotel its self is nice, located very well, with nice canal side bars over the road. The other couples we stayed with did mention that they're rooms were quite small, but as we were only staying for one night it was not an issue. Breakfast is very basic, cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs and toast etc but it does the job. For us this hotel was more about the location, which was superb.
We came in very exhausted from a long travel and had a very comfortable rest. We took the room just next to the canal, so the view was lovely and looking out to the water was calming. We spent 2 lovely nights here. Room was clean. Breakfast simple and good. Would have preferred firmer pillows, but probably my personal preference. Short walk to restaurants and other attractions. We did morning jogs from the hotel and headed to the where the windmills were. Not too far away. Nice to see that
We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite for four nights, which is adorable looking but not terribly comfortable. The location was a big plus and the price was right. The staff are pleasant enough but they seem to all be students who are new in town themselves. They were unable to accommodate a simple request for ice. I would think ice is very basic for a hotel, no??? Noise was a bit of an issue because the desk is not staffed after 8 PM. We had a group of very loud men who congregated in the communal courtyard just outside our room late at night when they arrived and there was no one on hand to address the issue. The pancakes were very good at breakfast but the signs warning you not to take any food "to go" were a real turn off. Not everyone likes to stuff themselves the minute they wake up. I would have preferred to just have coffee and take an apple and croissant for later. All in all an okay hotel for the price but it could be so much better if the owner would loosen the purse strings and add a few touches to make it more comfortable.
