My friend booked this hotel and the location is terrible. It says that is walking distance from the city center, but it's not. It takes at least 30', and the street to reach the hotel is not totally paved and dark. I've stayed one night in Velotel. The hotel is very cute and clean, with a good and gentle staff. Rooms are pretty good, with clean sheets. The twin beds are pretty small and the bathroom has a good size. If you intend to take a long bath, be prepared to be in the dark. The lights turn off and it is hard to get them on. The hotel is perfect if you have your bike or rent one. Ideal for bikers and bike lovers. We've payed 125€ for a double room, with twin bed and NO breakfast. 15€ per person for breakfast, which you can get for less in the city center. The taxi from the hotel to Brugge Station costs around 15€. If you just want to visit Brugge, don't stay here. It's not worthy!
Stayed here for the night, very helpful staff, Bruges is about a 25minute walk away, easy taxi service, comfy beds, clean rooms, reasonable bar costs. Had a great stay and the hilarious receptionist topped it all off! Would definitely return and recommend!
Please DO NOT GO THERE !! The worst hotel in my life, horrible location very very far from Bruges. Very unpleasant and offensive reception. Terrible smell of sewer in the hotel Very expensive restaurant inside the hotel . Bus station is far too , the taxi 10€ for Bruges .The hotel doesn't have any shuttle for the tourist !!! It's incredible ! Here nobody is kind .
This hotel turned out to be a hidden gem. Before arriving I was concerned that we had booked a hotel that was too far away from the centre of Bruges. However, the hotel is only a pleasant 10 minute bike ride away from the centre. These bikes were rented directly from the hotel for a very reasonable price for the two days we were in Bruges (which has masses of bike stands as this is a popular mode of transport). The hotel itself was very clean and modern, and our room was spacious and well equipped. We ate at the restaurant for lunch when we arrived which was delicious and all the staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We drove from the UK to Bruges and the area of the hotel and the parking seemed very safe. I will definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to go back to Bruges!
Hotel is a 25 minute walk from the main square. Has great parking. Newly refurbished with bright, clean and confortable rooms. Staff are very welcoming and helpful, especially for top tips on places to visit and how to save money when in the city. I travelled with my 9 month old daughter and felt the hotel was very welcoming to families.
We were on our way to Germany and this was our first night stopover, chosen for no other reason than it was in the right place, a reasonable price and there was good parking for our motorbike. This is a nice modern hotel with all the facilities you would expect. On the outskirts of Bruges but only a 25 minute walk to the centre which was fine for us. They aso have an arrangement with a taxi service for 10 euros if you don't fancy the walk. The lovely receptionist pulled out all the stops and got us our room early as we had arrived way before official check in time. We were very grateful as we were in our motorbike gear and it was very hot. Our room was fine, clean and with air con. All the staff spoke good English and were very friendly. We thought breakfast was a bit overpriced but apart from that everything was fine.
The staff where more than Helpful, the Hotel was nice and clean. Everyone was very good at there job. overall it was a great experience. Only drawback, it is a half hour walk into town, but the Hotel has a deal with a Taxi company for 10 Euros one way.
For reasons which I do not understand this hotel is not signposted from the road, ordinarily this would not matter but since the approach road is currently a construction site it does. Once found it is a delight, check in was easy and courteous with two elevators up to the rooms. Nice touch on each floor is a relax area with sofa, chairs and great views Rooms are what you would expect and for reasons again not understood you have to pay extra for a double bed! Nice touch are shower wraps I love them. Plenty of free parking around the back of the hotel. Walk into the city is around 30 minutes but they offer an interesting option of using taxi vouchers at a cost of €10 each way. Cost is added to your account. There is a small shopping precinct a couple of blocks away, good for coffee etc.
Returned home from a 4-day break in Bruges and stayed at the Velotel. Great service, all staff are extremely friendly, Amalieke checked us in and couldn't have done more to help, making sure we had the right information to get into and about the main city centre. Would also like to mention Gert (he's hilarious and much fun!) and Nancy and Luk who work at the bar. Nancy was always lovely when we ordered our breakfast beers! The rooms were lovely too although the plugs were a bit of an issue, badly placed and a bit loose in their sockets!! Town was a 30 minute walk away which wasn't too bad and could walk off the many beers and meals we enjoyed. The hotel offers a €10 taxi service which is convenient but we found it to be cheaper on one occasion when we didn't use the discount tokens! Bruges is a lovely city and we had a fantastic time visiting the famous sites and wandering the cobbled streets. Not to mention the delicious Belgian chocolates and fruit beers!
We just went for a short visit of the city as we drove there it was better to stay a bit out of the center. The hotel has a taxi service to the city and back, it was very comfortable. The room was big and nice. The staff is extremly helpful. Breakfast eas good but extra cost. The construction around the hotel but not too disturbing.
