In our travels we only had one night to stay in Bruges. We wanted a quaint but luxurious hotel close to the Centre. The pictures of the rooms at Jan Brito were lovely and just what we were looking for. However upon check in we were escorted to our room-I think the attendant was afraid to turn on the lights as she gave us the key and started to leave. The lights were key activated so it took us a moment to fumble around in the dark but finally we had lights, Only to see our room looked like a broom closet with a small bed, burnt out light bulbs and nothing close to what we were shown online. Also who in this country serves instant coffee? Do not be fooled by booking online-while I'm certain they have nicer rooms ( surely hope so) you'll end up in the broom closet resembling a Motel 6 if you are not careful!

The Location of the hotel is brilliant for the city centre. The room was very small for two people with too much furniture in the room, we had to put the table and one of the chairs in the bathroom so we could walk around the bed. i must point out though that the bed was extremely comfortable and the Hotel and the room was very quiet and we slept well. The bathroom could also do with a refurb as there was mildew/mould on the mastic around the bath. Breakfast was ok, but not fantastic choice. One morning though as we entered the dining room 5 mins before the 10.30 deadline, for breakfast the waitress gave an exaggerated look at her watch, how rude we thought! Bruges itself is a beautiful city, with fantastic architecture, however very expensive to eat and drink out and seems to close early.... i doubt i would go back

We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Jan Brito. The staff were so friendly on check in Our room was lovely, full of character but was very clean and had all the amenities we needed with a great shower and comfortable bed. The location is perfect and just a stones throw from the town centre meaning you can easily pop back between day and night activities. Overall really enjoyed it and would happily go back.

Excellent location for an economic, comfortable hotel. I stayed in a small single room not bigger than 1,5x4 sqm, however clean and well furnished. New bathroom with low water pressure however enough for one night stay. Nice personnel. Clean and nice. Perfect for short stays in Brugge if you do not need much more than a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. I would go back!

Just returned after 2 night stay as early Christmas present. Nice hotel although room was a bit small but possibly as booked on travel site, we got what we paid for. It was certainly clean and warm but no view worth mentioning.Only about 5 minute walk from centre along cobbled streets. Never been to Bruges before so unable to compare but for a couple of nights it was nice which is more than can be said for restaurant prices. Cheapest evening meal (exc. McDonalds) for 2 will set you back £70-80 or more. Too expensive for me but maybe I should get out more also Christmas market was really poor. Go to Prague if you can- Million times better.

A lovely hotel with decent staff. Unfortunately the hot water and heating packed up for our last night so could not have a shower or bath. When I complained about the lack of heating/hot water I did not get a very sympathetic response which took the shine off of the hotel for me. Great locationin a lovely city - I wouldn’t bother with the Christmas markets but plenty of other beautiful sights to see and things to do

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a quick city break. It was a lovely hotel to stay in for 2 nights. Right in the city centre and very close to the market. The hotel staff are so lovely and very helpful. They recommended a restaurant for us to go to which we did on the Saturday night called Bistro De Schaar. It was really good! One of the reasons why we chose to stay at this hotel was because it had use of the spa included in the room price. Just a steam room and sauna. However you can't just head over to the spa whenever you like, you have to pre-book and it is only used for your party at one time. Although it's nice to have the spa area all to yourself, it was a bit annoying that you couldn't just go whenever you liked. No biggie though, just an FYI to anyone else looking at this hotel! I'd recommend this hotel for a short break, but I'd go somewhere a bit more modern or with larger rooms for a longer stay.

Have just returned from a 2 night visit , this hotel is perfect . Quite old but beautiful . Rooms quite small but adequate as you don't spend much time there . Staff friendly and very helpful . Breakfast good with plenty of choice . Cooked or continental . Location fantastic as only a 5 minute walk into town centre . Advice : If you are staying to visit the Christmas markets DONT !! we were very disappointed , only around 20 stalls and most of them were food .

We stayed at Hotel Jan Brito for the first weekend of the christmas markets. What a wonderful little hotel. We got engaged on our trip so my fiance had booked us into the junior suite. It was a fabulous room, beautifully decorated and lovely and clean. The lady that was working afternoons/evenings over that weekend was really lovely, couldn't do enough to make sure that we were having a good stay. Each evening we'd pop into the bar for a cherry beer/Flanders beer before heading out for dinner. It was beautifully decorated for christmas and the open fire is a great feature. We'll definitely come back!

I really liked this quirky little hotel that's located on a quiet side street that's only about a 5 minute walk to the big main square. The staff is awesome, too. I stayed in a small but quaint single room in what may have been an extension of the hotel overlooking the gardens- did I mention it was small? But, actually, it was fine for me. On my way out, I passed one of the bigger, more lux double rooms on the ground floor of the main building and it was absolutely gorgeous!
