This hotel is ideally located in the centre of Bruge with a Wow factor. Unfortunately due to a disappointing first night of a two night stay I cannot justify giving this hotel 5 stars. The first room we were allocated (room 92) was on street level and far too noisy from outside traffic and passers by, the complimentary ear plugs should have been a warning sign. After asking to be moved (the first time I have ever had to do this in my history of travelling) we were told this may be possible for the second night. The next morning the staff were helpful and accommodating with our request, moving our belongings to a room at the back of the hotel. What was disappointing about this stay was that the staff at reception were not surprised by the complaint about room 92 as if it was a regular occurrence. A complaint a premium hotel like this could avoid by considering wether this room needs to be in circulation.
This comfortable hotel is 5mins walk from the main square but is extremely quiet. All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here for all types of travellers whether elderly, with children or couples.
What a hotel! We are very well travelled and I must say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in! Excellent night sleep, very quiet!Firstly a 2 min walk to the square, parking onsite which was important as we drove there. The rooms are newly decorated, with gorgeous bathrooms, we had a fantastic walk in shower. The rooms were spotless, the chambermaids do an amazing job of cleaning the rooms. I got some makeup accidentally on the sheets and when I came back they had been changed!! They are so lovely to talk too. The reception staff are very friendly and very helpful so very well done. The breakfast staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful too! Always served you with a smile. The bar man was also lovely, he never made you wait, so thank you! The hotel is spotless. The staff are always around and never made you wait but also they gave you your space which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend to staff here if you go to Brugge.
We chose this hotel as we were having a long awaited weekend away without the baby and wanted somewhere romantic and picturesque to enjoy our time alone. Really I would have given this hotel 3.5 out of 5 as I don't feel the rooms are really worthy of 4 stars. Firstly the positives, the hotel is in a great location and the building is truly beautiful. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The bar is nice for having a drink in and we didn't find the bar prices particularly expensive. the barman was lovely and perfectly suited to his job. The atmosphere was chilled out and unobtrusive. The not so great bits are that the first room we were assigned was a joke. I got the impression that a lot of people complain about it as the lady at reception was not surprised when I requested a room change. It was impossible to find; down corridors, up one lift, down more corridors, down another lift and ending up in a tiny corridor in the basement. Dingy doesn't even begin to describe it and if there was a fire, I couldn't see us finding our way out alive. It certainly did not look like the room photos on the website and we felt totally deflated by it. I appreciate it is an old building but I really think it's a joke to use those rooms. The window faced a brick wall as well. We were quickly relocated to another room on an upper floor. The view and light in the room was much better but we were still fairly underwhelmed that it did not resemble the photos on the website and it wasn't much nicer than a standard room at Premier Inn. Not what we were expecting for the price of the room and for a premium hotel. The bathroom was nice enough but the pipes were noisy and the water temperature fluctuated a lot. The door had no lock and constantly slid open when you were on the toilet and too far away to pull it shut. There was no dressing gown or slippers, which I would expect from a premium hotel, especially one with a swimming pool onsite. The room seemed clean enough but after dropping something on the floor and bending down to retrieve it, we found numerous bits of rubbish under the bed and in the corner. Again not exactly what you'd expect. We checked out the swimming pool and it was nice enough for a swim, though the layout of the changing room doors meant there was very little privacy as the door opened straight onto me standing there naked. I'm not a prude but a little thought to privacy wouldn't go amiss. Another women was quite dismayed by being put on display. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. To conclude, I would stay there again as the location was so good but I would be careful to specify a different room, as I understand there are much nicer ones which do look like the photos. I wouldn't want to pay the same amount for the room we had as I don't think it was worth the rate.
This hotel us really in a great location! By 2 minutes walk you are in heart of Bruges. The was parking available which was important for us cause we were traveling by car. The rooms were clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location, close to all the sights. Room was one of the best I've ever stayed in. Staff really helpful and friendly, nothing was too much. Pool and sauna was great, especially after a long day walking around. Excellent choice for breakfast. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back there.
Stayed at the hotel for my partners 40th birthday. Quaint vibe within walking distance of all the main sites. Lovely little sauna and pool. Pretty, friendly and relaxing. We had the breakfast buffet which was tasty and they offered gluten free items too. Result.
I stayed here for one night on a quick visit to family and what a great hotel and location. Breakfast was great and so were the beers served at the bar. You could walk anywhere from this hotel. It was very convenient and the staff was very helpful and friendly. You can leave your luggage there for the day if your room isn't ready or if you need to check out before you are ready to leave. And my room had a great view of the Belfry tower.
Can't recommend this hotel enough! So convenient for the centre. Everything was spotless, breakfast offered a huge choice, staff very friendly. Also, the history of the building is fascinating (ask at reception for a typewritten sheet detailing this) with a fair few physical features remaining from the past.We used the small pool in the basement, a refreshing start to our busy days. We also had a drink in the bar on the Friday night and enjoyed the live pianist. Only one slight issue - we were in room 93, which is a LONG, complicated route from the main entrance, although to be fair, this is compensated for by the fact you can exit an external door just outside the room and find yourself back on the street! Overall - we were very glad we chose this hotel :)
We stayed here in July 2017 for three nights. The hotel is housed in a lovely old building. We had requested a room on the 2nd floor and were given a lovely room, which had recently been refurbished. The bathroom was very modern and spacious – it was great to have a bathtub as well as a walk in shower. The room was extremely comfortable and clean, with lots of space. Breakfasts were very tasty, with a good variety on offer. We did not use the bar but it looked friendly and there were certainly people in there most evenings. We just preferred to be out in the town. The location was superb, so close to the main square (Markt). Not that anywhere in Bruges is far……. Staff everywhere in the hotel were friendly, efficient and courteous. Certainly a hotel to recommend and to return to.
