We had a very enjoyable stay at the Wilton Hotel. The large family room suited our needs perfectly with two small children. A nice central location for touring, friendly and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast spread. Great value for money for families.
I booked in at the last minute for some respite from caring for my terminally ill Mum. Rate was €124. It's now on Tripadvisor for €63!! Greeted by someone trying to like their job at reception. Told to go through doors and turn left. Wrong directions. Exhausted, I finally found the room to the right. No proper drinking glasses in the room. It was a very basic room that could do with some added touches to make it nice. No shampoo, no conditioner etc It's not a fair policy to charge almost double for one night then advertise the next for half the price.
We stayed at The Wilton Hotel in bray 5 nights, my husband was there for business I went for vacation.. I was very clean, the staff was pleasant and helpful, nice location. The breakfast was wonderful....Right cross the street from Killruddrey, bus stop is right at the corner of the hotel. Hotel was just a clean comfortable stay..
Stayed here for a couple of nights with business. Found the hotel to be very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly. I did eat breakfast here and again it was very good and I had no problem being gluten free. The location is also very easy to find and provides easy access to bray itself.
stayed in this hotel for one night on 12/05 2017 this hotel has only got 3 stars rating it should be 4 star because this hotel has great staff the food is great and the rooms are well presented over all i was i was glad i stayed there thank you
The Wilton Hotel Bray was booked for us by a friend. Hotel was very comfortable. A 10 minute walk to the Bray Golf Club where the party we were attending was held. the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - if your rate doesn't include the breakfast pay for it the next day as it was a fantastic range of food. We didn't need to eat from 9.30 that morning until 4.30. Saw a few mutterings re the plates not being hot, you can get over this quite easily as the food is piping hot. I do agree with one reviewer re the club Wilton special, it was indeed soggy and didn't come with what it should have - ie the garlic mayo. The chips were so thick they didn't seem cooked. I gave my feedback to the ever so friendly receptionist who advised it was only on the menu a few weeks. I told them to leave out the tomato and maybe there would no more saggy sarnies! The staff are amazingly friendly and this gets you over any soggy sandwich!
I was in Bray for a group business event for 3 nights and we had all been booked into The Royal on the main street in Bray but on seeing the rooms that were on offer there I decided to make my own arrangements and booked into the Wilton. That turned out to be the best decision! This hotel may not be very central to the town centre but the rooms are large, modern, clean, bright, and well accessorised. The hotel corridors were being freshly painted and new carpets fitted (although they didn't particularly look as though they needed it). Reception and bar staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel has a lively atmosphere in the bar area but my room was really quiet and peaceful.
I am writing to complain about my experience at the Wilton Hotel. Bray. County Wicklow. in Ireland. In my return, I looked into people’s reviews at the Wilton Hotel and could not believe what I was reading. There was no reference to cold food or cold plates, only how lovely the food was, maybe I was in the wrong hotel. I had no problem with the room, decor or the dining area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, no complaints there. I am very easy going and will accept most things, and eat more or less anything and would not normally complain like a lot of people but this was over the top. I do like to eat off a hot plate and eat hot food but in my experience at this hotel was not acceptable. By the reviews I read, this hotel does not come up to this standard. I am surprised this hotel was given a 3 star rating, I would struggle to give it a 2 star. I am sure the reviews were carefully selected and would be surprised to see this review shown to the public. I have written this truthfully and I hope other members of our group will also write of their experiences. My room was very acceptable having two double beds, nicely laid out although the dreadful old television which should have been thrown out 20 years ago. In my opinion a cash refund would be appropriate. We had 4 days of cold plates and cold meals. The meals would have been acceptable if they had been hot. Constant complaining to the hotel manager each day made absolutely made no difference. Thurs, 4th May: On arrival, my partner and I sat in the bar and ordered sandwiches which were thick and dry especially the chicken one. I had ordered coffee which was lukewarm so I complained to the manager while paying the bill. He did say sorry and did not charge me for my sandwich or coffee. Dinner at night, the plates were stone cold and meal was lukewarm. The vegetables were dreadfull, carrots were ¾ of an inch thick, I complained immediately and asked the waitress to inform the Chef obviously this was not done. We had one day in which our dinner was hot.Friday 5th May : Breakfast: The plates were cold, had not been heated at all. The breakfast items were in individual dishes which were on a hot-plate was not doing much to keep the food hot. I told the manager again that the breakfast was cold most items and made the suggestion to heat the plates to improve the breakfast which was ignored. I felt that if I did not complain to the manager right away we could have this all through our holiday. Friday 5th May: Dinner: The meal at night was lukewarm also plates were cold as usual. Fortuneately the soup was reasonably hot. Mon 8th May. Breakfast: Plates were cold and also breakfast was the worst I had, very cold so I spoke to the Manager again who apologised but damage already done. Dinner at night we were told we had have dinner at 17.30pm as the other tour group were having their dinner at 19.00pm so we had to clear the dining room as quickly as possible. We had to have our coffee or tea out in the reception area. None of our party were very happy. Our dinner was quite acceptable in fact hot just spoiled as we had to get out quite quick. Tuesday 9th May Breakfast: we had to have breakfast a half an hour later than normal due to the other 100 tour guests being allowed in earlier for breakfast. We had to walk past the other guests as we went into Breakfast. The plates were cold. The breakfast on the hot plate looked as if it was left-overs from the previous party, hopefully it was not, it was just the fact, the food dishes were half full. This has been a dreadful experience, hopefully I will not have again.
Stayed here last weekend and was impressed straight away by how friendly and helpful the receptionist was, giving us recommendations about restaurants and bars in the area and telling us general hotel information. We had 2 rooms, 1 on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor - both rooms were large and comfortably furnished and the balcony on our 1st floor room was excellent. The bed in the room was really big and comfortable but thankfully it was a warm weekend as the quilt only just reached the edges of the mattress with nobody in the bed - had the weather been cold the quilt would not have covered much when 2 people were in the bed! The only issue with the ground floor room was the lack of blinds or frosted glass on the windows - the girls in that room felt they needed to keep their curtains closed as everyone walking past to the carpark was looking in at them! The breakfast was good quality with lots of choice of fruit, breads, cereals, porridge and cooked foods. One small issue was the lack of low fat spread or low fat milk [one of our party cannot eat butter or full cream milk] which was quite unusual. The hotel was very reasonably priced and I will definitely stay here again!
