A bit of a rocky experience at this hotel. Location is fine. Short walk from attractions. Building is clean and well cared for. Breakfast was alright - an upgrade from Holiday Inn Express fare. Quite adequate. Wait staff was energetic but didn't do a particularly great job of filling coffee cups ...
The hotel is in a fantastic location by the water. We had a great view from our room and it was easy walking distance to the sites: the Shambles, Mikelgate, York Minster, the Castle museum, etc. Also walking distance to the train station. Staff were quite welcoming and provided a bag with crayons ...
A classic hotel with a convenient location, a one minute walk from the train station and a ten minute walk from the center of town. The staff is helpful and the room is pleasant. The color scheme relies on "gray" a bit much but otherwise, it was a very comfortable experience.
exploring York, sightseeing, shopping in Edinburg this winter we also stayed at a four-star hotel, but it was much more confortable. I wonder why the staff doesn't supply 3 customers with shampoo, shower gels, tea, towels etc. in the amount FOR EACH PERSON (not one for the whole company)
Old traditional hotel. Big rooms. Everything excellent: staff, facilities, location ...
Very clean, modern sort of hipstery hotel. Food was good but a little pricy, I would just go out somewhere else. There parking is a couple of blocks away and 12 pounds per night. They only have limited spaces so you may have to park in the car park, which is literally right next to it for 9 pound per day, but coin operated and 100 pound if your late.
Stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. The room was in a great condition, very clean, and quiet. If I ever visit I’ll stay here again. It also very close to the city center. It’s a 5 min walk!
The hotel is directly off of the highway so it is easily accessible. It is located at a truck stop/eatery so their is a lot of people which may cause you to park a little further from the hotel but not too far that you will complain. There is a grocery store, Burger King and a couple of other Bistro's so food is always available. The hotel accepts pets, I was unaware, and since I am allergic to animals they switched me to an area of the hotel that did not have pets. It is clean and the staff are very helpful. My only complaint, the hotel lacks AC and the hallways and stairwell are very hot. They provided a very small fan for the room which does not help during the day but kept us comfortable at night. Shower does not have a door that closes which is awkward at first but you get used to it. Worth the price, great value for your money
