Very tired Hotel and the room was very rundown but the staff including Katie on Reception and Shiela the Duty Manager really did try to resolve the room issues but were let down by maintenance and I assume Senior Management

The room wasn't quite how we expected based on the picture provided at point of booking, but was ok. The bed was on the former side but reasonably comfortable, as we're the pillows. The spa facilities were excellent and and well maintained. Breakfast was also excellent and staff were well presented (if a little inexperienced, save for the Maitre D). Staff providing room service was very polite & delivered our room service exactly on the time requested. Overall, quite possibly our favourite UK hotel so far.

The rooms were very hot with no air conditioning. Toilets near the bar were dirty and not maintained. Only one lift was working which was very small so long waits with luggage. We felt the majority of staff didn't really care except for reception team who were very helpful.

Nice anniversary touches,outdoor hot tub closed

The only disappointing thing about the spa was that the outdoor hot tub wasn't open which we really wanted to use. Lovely touches for our anniversary so thankful for that.

"Upgraded" to a smaller room with black mould

Checked in and we were given a smaller room than we'd booked. When we asked if perhaps we had been given the wrong room, the receptionist tried to tell us we actually had an upgrade. Windows barely opened and were thick with black mould. A housekeeping team member came to clean but only brought glass cleaner which doesn't kill mould. Here are pics of the windows AFTER housekeeping cleaned. We were eventually given our original booking after two requests & even had to take the photographs of mould down to reception to be believed. Not a great beginning to our stay by any means.
