Overall good. Perfect location. Comfy and clean. Breakfast lovely. Nice, modern feel. One front of house staff member quite miserable and impersonable but the rest of the staff were pleasant and friendly.

Quick check in, in the room with in 5 minutes. Room was spotless and comfy. Nice to have a sofa to sit on instead of the usual one chair and the other sat on the bed during down time. Breakfast had a great variety, two notes though. Coffee and my tastes was pants and if you want to try and get a waffle then get down a few hours early as you have no chance with the kids queuing up for an age. Maybe another waffle machine would help.

Didnt stay due to a family death, contacted the manager to cancel the stay he was arrogant, robotic, unhelpful and disrespectful. He kept saying he could cancel it but he cant, which made no sense.

When we arrived we were told a room number and when we arrived at the room i managed to open the door whilst there was already someone else inside! This was highly embarrassing for all involved. We went back to reception who told us another room number but didn't really seem bothered that we had just walked in on somebody. The room was spacious, clean and very well kept. The beds were comfortable and we did not hear any road noise which was great. Breakfast the next morning was a fiasco! We went down around 9.30am so expected it to be busy but it was chaos. There were 2 police cars outside and the police were stood with a homeless man that had tried to get a free coffee. This had lead to staff apparently not being able to work therefore there was no hot food, bread had not been topped up and all the tables were filthy. Once the food had been sorted i had to wait around 10 minutes for a fork as apparently every fork they had was dirty or in the dishwasher! The staff did not seem to care and just said we would have to wait by which time the food was cold. Not a great experience. Could not fault the location it was very close to all York has to offer.

This is an excellent hotel. Very good value for money, there is a free breakfast with lots of items. It is run of the mill standard English breakfast coffee options and juices and eggs. The hotel is located bang in the middle of town, right next to Clifford's hill. Book with confidence when traveling with families, you cant go wrong with Hampton Hilton York Piccadilly.

Booked 2 King rooms with Expedia and got allocated twin rooms, they were not terrible but it was not what I wanted. Hotel was so unhelpful and refused to give us queen rooms without payment. Breakfast was cold and always runs out, room was freezing at night, I was by the window, great location but was very disappointed compared to out stay in the same hotel chain m in Edinburgh. York is lovely, parking is absolutely disgusting £41 per night.

Lovely staff Room was really nice but the floor and mirrors were dirty. I don’t want to be one to complain about the skirting boards but the fact I noticed them showed they needed a clean. Room was also close to the lift so you could hear every time someone got in or out. We had a white noise machine for our baby so it didn’t bother us but could be something to consider if that type of noise keeps you up.

I stayed here with my partner for 1 night. It was located very near to a venue we were attending so that is how we came to choose this hotel. The room was a good size with a very nice shower room. The water pressure was quite weak however but for one night it wasn’t a problem. Sleep quality was good thanks to a comfy bed and a good temperature in the room. It was New Year’s Eve but we didn’t hear any noise from other rooms or outside. Breakfast was ok but I was surprised to see guests going down in their pyjamas! The choice of cooked food on the buffet was the usual standard but maybe it had been kept under the heat lamps a little too long and had gone hard. Coffee was a basic machine, filter would have been nice. It did the job though to set you up for the day.
