Stayed here for a few days. It was pretty good, and is about 5 minutes walk from York station. The staff were pleasant, the bed was fine and its a good hotel to use if you need somewhere to crash while exploring the city.

Stopped here for one night, the room was very sufficient. Simple, clean and convenient. Parking costs 9.00 per night so make sure to add that to your price of your stay. We got a space easily as stopped on a Tuesday but could see it getting very full on weekends and event days. We asked for an iron and was told there was one on the 3rd floor, this is a shared iron between the hotel in a room where you have to take your clothes which I found quite strange. Location was perfect, took 15 minutes to walk into the very centre with plenty of pubs and restaurants along the way. There is also some shops and fast food really close to the hotel. Would stay again!

Great hotel and great location. Super friendly staff Rooms are clean and comfortable beds Breakfast was really good and lots of selection of hot foods Would stay here again whenever I come back to York

Staywd here for 2 nights whilst attending work meetings in the area. My room was on the third floor towards the rear of the hotel. It was clean and comfortable and I would happily stay here again. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. I’m a Coeliac, and had stated that whilst booking online. They had gluten-free bread available for breakfast and offered to toast it under the grill so as not to cross-contaminate it in the toaster. They also offered to go out to buy gluten-free cereal for breakfast - but I preferred yogurt and that was available. They also serve evening meals - but the only gluten-free meal was a bowl of soup. It was delicious but I was disappointed that none of the other dishes on the menu were suitable. I’ve recommended this hotel to busness colleagues and friends as it is only a 10 min walk from the railway station and also convenient to the city centre. It is basic but there is a bar with comfortable seats (sofas) and a pool table downstairs, which was a convenient place to relax after a busy day. Hopefully on my next visit the evening menu will have been improved to include a choice of gluten-free dishes.

The location is brilliant 10 minutes walk into the city Center. Parking on site was easy. Breakfast excellent and the staff all very friendly and smiley. The room was large , I think the cleaning could be better and an extractor fan in bathroom wouldn’t go amiss. Overall an excellent hotel and I would stay again and would recommend

A group of six of us stayed here in three twin rooms in late October. Our room was a decent size with two small but comfortable single beds and the usual small TV and coffee-making facilities. The hotel is decently located; less than 10 minutes walk to the train station and about 15 to the city centre. The bar area was pleasant and kindly showed the rugby on the large TV when we asked. There was also a pool table, which was good. But no chalk for the cues, which wasn't. Being a bit closer to the city would've been nice, but it's not the be-all-and-end-all so I'd probably stop here again.

Stayed here during a weekend away with friends. Will not be staying ever again! The hotel is in desperate need of a good clean and refurb! We paid £130 for the night and for this amount I expected the standards to be much higher. Our room carpet was covered in stains, the curtains were stained, one of the pillows was stained and the toilet seat didn’t look particularly clean. There was snot smeared on the wall next to the mirror, there was no hand soap in the bathroom to clean your hands and the bathroom stunk like drains. The icing on the cake though was the huge clump of pubic hair on the supposedly clean towel!!! We checked in late, got changed for the night and went straight back out and didn’t arrive back to the hotel till around 2am so we didn’t notice how dirty the room was until we got back. It was too late to do anything about it when we got back otherwise I would have complained there and then. The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location, breakfast was ok and the two staff i spoke to were friendly. Hire better cleaners!!

Stayed in room 118A a concerted conference room fantastic for a group or a family as ours (parents and two teens) spare double sofa bed and spare single sofa bed - HUGE room - nice clean refitted bathroom - perfect for a family stay over - Buffett breakfast also plentiful and decent - was worried after reading the other reviews but really pleasantly surprised - perfectly decent for a weekend stop over to the beautiful city of York. Ghost bus tour was both funny and interesting and worth the price tag 👍

We had a nice stay at the Ibis York Centre, it is well located being only a 15-minute walk from the railway station. A nice warm welcome on arrival and check-in was quick and easy. The room was a bit on the small side but had everything you needed; tea making facilities, TV, desk, Complementary Wi-Fi, etc. and the bed was comfortable. Both the room and the bathroom were a bit tired and in need of some renovation. The walk-in shower however was excellent. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the car park; there were a couple of building fans in the building across the car park, which were quite noisy but apart from that the room was pretty quiet. I have to ask though why but why can't people close doors quietly or with consideration for others late at night or early in the morning? Free parking is available in the hotel car park and there is a small bar with a pool table. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice of both hot and cold food.

Stayed here recently and before we got there we felt very comfortable because we had stayed at numerous ibis in the past and had found them great value. However after booking my wife noticed that the hotel was pet friendly not a problem but my wife is HIGHLY allergic to pet hair. We emailed the hotel and were assured that they would put us in a new room that no pets had been in. When we got there we where given room "2" this room is nicely decorated with a great bathroom however There is a reason it's a new room because it's actually still part of the reception area All other rooms are within a quite undesturbed section of the hotel this room is not even past any fire doors and opens up right onto the lifts and reception area with a lovely speaker pumping out bland lift music to the bar and reception At first after a long trip I thought I would have a nap nnnnnooooooo After shutting the door and lying down all I can hear is that damn music and every person who calls at reception I gave up I popped to reception and asked if the music at least could be turned down a simple request ? No it can't it will go off at 10pm though Ok do you have any other rooms that haven't had pets stay ? Not sure maybe Cue a wait until the evening the music went off as told before 10pm then all I could hear was every single cough splutter and fart of guests at reception. Not a full hour of sleep all night then at just before 7am the bloody music comes back on Now to be fair the young lady on reception was lovely and tied her best to help and we did feel sorry for her She told us that unfortunately the other room that hadn't had pets in had been let out but she would turn the music off earlier tonight I wasn't happy but was assured it would be looked at That afternoon after another failed attempt at a nap I finally asked to speak to the manager any feeling of trust that they were trying to help soon faded She just didn't care in fact she felt it was more important that guests in reception and the bar area had music to listen too rather than I get any sleep She offered to move rooms but after explaining that my wife was allergic to pet hair told me that there were rooms available despite me being told that there wasn't I didn't believe her and wasn't willing to risk my wife's health because she couldn't be bothered All in all a very poor experience with a totally changed outlook of IBIS hotels never again will I pay money to a company to be told when I can sleep and be told that the comfort of everybody is more important than an individuals sleep Never again ever
