Hotel cancelled my reservation at noon the day I was supposed to arrive. In order for me to stay there, I had to rebook at a higher rate. I am in the process of contesting this situation.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I HATED THIS PLACE. IT IS TERRIBLE. I ONLY STAYED HETE DUE TO THE FACT I WAS TRAVELING AND GOT IN LATE. I WOULDNT STAY HERE FOR FREE.
I didn’t seem like anyone besides the person behind the desk really cared about their job. When we checked in, we smelled weed right when we walked inside of the building. When we made it to our room, the floor didn’t look clean. It had stains everywhere and glitter still in it. When we left that morning, the staff looked like they were at a funeral because they were so boo boo lipped. Seems like the staff REALLY needs to be replaced....we won’t be back.
I have a service animal that travels with me. I have medical reasons and paperwork for having him. I was just harassed by the staff for bringing him to breakfast with me. I explain to them the law but they continue to give me a hard time.
Would have giving all 4 or 5 but the fire alarm went off twice where everyone had to evacuate the building. And, there was a spider problem.
The check in staff acted as if we were an inconvenience, the room was dirty and smelled like it used to be a smoking room, the exhaust in the bathroom didn’t work so I could smell some one smoking in the bathroom below being that we were on the top floor, there was a dirty mattress in the sofa bed and they gave us no sheets or pillows for that bed, and as we were packing up there was a cockroach in the bathroom.
The decor itself wasn't bad, but things could have been much clearer. But, after traveling for 12 hours we just needed sleep before heading for home. The mattresses probably should have been replaced years ago. The fold out couch was so bad we put the mattress on the floor and that wasn't even any better ( you could literally feel every spring in your back). The next morning the waffle maker was broken and much of the breakfast choices were out so we were just going to grab coffee and hit a drive through... they were out of coffee ( it was 8:30). The lady at the front desk asked the girl working in the breakfast room to get more... she just glared at me and didn't get any. After 10 min we just left.
It was a nice hotel overall for our quick stay to visit family in Bessemer. Reasonably priced. I did not like the lone men at night smoking by the doors and walking the halls often; but there was a police officer always nearby. This made me feel safe but also that they have issues with something. The lady serving breakfast was also super nice and went out of her way to make sure my kids, mom, and I had what we needed. The coffee was also great. Would stay here again.
When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly front desk staff and check in was a breeze. Unfortunately, our room (non-smoking) had an awful, strong cigarette odor. Not only this, but there was still coffee in the coffee pot, beer bottle caps on the floor, and used disposable cups in the trash cans. That didn't say much for housekeeping. We decided to visit the pool, which my kids were excited about. Again, a disappointment. The water had do much chlorine that our eyes burned before entering. We left to our room instead. We slept well, as the hotel was quiet and the bed was comfortable. When we woke up we got ready and headed to the complimentary breakfast, which to my surprise, was really good. The breakfast staff was equally as kind as the front desk staff. They're the only reason I'd ever stay again.
great hotel. Was only there for 2 nights Enjoyed the breakfast and the comfy bed.
The room was okay. Breakfast was awful. This is all I have to say
We had a nice time, the hotel room was clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and went out of the way to help us find what we were looking for. The breakfast was way more than we expected, more than the plain cold pastry and coffee, they had eggs, biscuits, gravy, cereal, fruit, pancakes, plus....next time we go to an Alabama game we will stay there.
Great place to stay, free breakfast and heated indoor pool. TVS are a ltitle small and the cable or satellite reception isn't that good. Front desk staff were very courteous and helpful
