They are renovating the property inside and out. Cool but the room I was given didn’t look like it was maintained before the renovations. The ceiling had several water spots, the tub was rusty, and not cleaned (several long hairs already in the shower. I wouldn’t stay here again even after the renovations are complete

My hotel room was very filthy. The hallways of the hotel was filthy. I told the front desk about my room and the only thing he said is that we didn’t have anymore rooms available. He didn’t send no one there to check the room nor clean it! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there.

Run---do not walk away from this place. I attempted to detail my horrific experience but it mysteriously" disappeared. In summary: - Majority of the staff spoke little if no English. Communication limited. Those who did certainly knew how to say "Not my job..." - Room lacked basic amenities such as bar soap, Kleenex tissue and towels. Sink leaked. Unpleasant smell in toilet/shower area. - Renovation going on in the hotel around our very heads including painting and ripping up carpets on the very hallways where there were guests. Equipment in the hallways, blocking use of elevator and even entrance to the rooms!!!! Cloud of dust and God knows what filled the air. - "Continental breakfast" consisted of sporadic yogurt, sporadic fruit, and cheap pre-packaged pastry and/or bagels with no butter, cream cheese, jam, toaster, or microwave. The machine to get hot water to make tea was filthy. - Computer available to secure a boarding pass for plane, but printer not working to print it. What????? - no manager or supervisor ever on duty to discuss issues. No one would take responsibility for anything.

The property could stand some paint and replacement of carpeting. The room was very clean but a bit old. Halls were dingy. New carpet and paint would help a lot. Garbage was spilling over the cans in the parking lot. Room was very comfortable though. Staff very accommodating and pleasant.

This hotel could use a fresh coat of paint and new pillows. Otherwise this is a decent place to stay for the price.

Liked that we were on the first floor with the dog. The airconditioner in the room was barely working.

If you’re simply looking for a place to get a decent night’s sleep, this hotel is adequate & good. Room was clean & bed comfortable. Friendly staff. Has restaurants & shopping nearby. Continental breakfast (basic). No laundry room at this time. Area felt safe. Fairly close to interstate to use as a base for exploring Birmingham area. Would stay here again.

Liked that the property is in a great area. Did not like the room it needs a bit of updating.

Staff was friendly. Bathroom was nasty. Had to wear flip flop to showrr in. Bathrooms was not cleaned by room service the day we were there. They did not have a maintenance person so the lady from the front desk had to also to both jobs

Reservation was messed up. The staff was awesome at getting this fixed. Then the TV and air conditioning didn't work. It's kind of run down. Will not stay here again.

The lady at the front desk was such a blessing. They are pet friendly but i was out of the norm, and she was very kind to let me stay, knowing i would not be able to find accommodations elsewhere. I deeply appreciated the kindness.

This is a nice hotel in the center of a shopping district.

I would only recommend this La Quinta for the excellent staff who were personable, accommodating, and genuinely friendly and warm. The overall facility was short of clean both outside, inside the hallways, and in the room itself which had cobwebs and dinge around the bathroom facilities. ICK!!!! The room was sprayed with some kind of product (to simulate freshness???) which was totally offensive to me who has a fragrance issue and only use odor free products. I had to open the window and put on the air conditioner to air out the room. AWFUL!!!!!!!!! The vending machines and availability of items were extremely limited. I have stayed at another La Q in Birmingham that offered a much better variety of snacks including bottled water and even ice cream. Overall, this was a disappointing place to stay, as I said, other than staff----WHO WERE FABULOUS!!! I want to emphasize I loved the staff!!!!!!

Needed a reasonable hotel near Veteran's Park. Was close and convenient to both airport and park. Not much for amenities, but a clean and reasonable hotel.

The front desk staff were very nice and quickly got us checked in. The room had a bit of a cat odor to it. It's a good value in a convenient location.

the hotel was older but seemed to be cared for. the fauset in the tub leaked continuosly what a waste ! the staff helpful , but I asked for fresh towels and washcloths that was what I got and it was like a trade off beds weren't made and the trash was left.all in all not as bad as where we stayed last time we were here!

My hotel room was very filthy. The hallways of the hotel was filthy. I told the front desk about my room and the only thing he said is that we didn’t have anymore rooms available. He didn’t send no one there to check the room nor clean it! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay there.
