Stayed here June 9-12, 2019. The room was clean and what you would expect from a hotel room. But the service this hotel gave was exceptional! All the staff here went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Could not have asked for a better experience. My wife forgot her flat iron, and one of the staff was willing to run home and get theirs to make sure we were taken care of. You will not find a better place when it comes to meeting your needs and make you feel you matter.
I stayed here for a one night business trip. It was easy to find downtown, quick valet and a clean & quiet interior room. At check in I was given an interior room (no window) and an offer for a handful of freebie choices to compensate for being in the interior room. Surprisingly it didn't bother me - added bonus was quiet and dark. I ordered room service and while I didnt get exactly what I ordered, it was decent enough and quick. I'd return again.
The Redmont is a great hotel for a business stay in downtown Birmingham. The staff is helpful and thorough. The room is basic, but perfectly adequate. The location is ideal (for my purposes). The Redmont will be my hotel of choice for all my trips to Birmingham. I recommend it.
Stayed at the Redmont March 26, 2019 and had the valet take my vehicle upon arrival. May 28, 2019 received a parking ticket collection letter from an attorney. Guess valet cannot be trusted. Hotel advised me that I would have to handle the issue myself as they would not be able to assist me.
I choose this place because it was close to places where I wanted to go and it was reasonably priced. It worked for me on both counts. It is an older style building (built in 1927) which has been modernised and sometimes that shows – the elevator area is out of date, but the elevator is modern. The rooms are a good size, desk, TV, large shower, comfy bed. The restaurant serves good food and there is a rooftop bar with commanding views of the city. It’s part of the Hilton Group and branded as part of their Curio collection. What’s not to like?
Oumou at the front desk was suppose to help us locate a payment that was previously made, the wedding coordinator that booked the room at the special rate had since left the hotel. Oumou didn't have a way to locate the payment, then charged us for 3 vehicles instead of 2. We reported this discrepancy to Oumou and she told us that she had checked with the valet and we had 3 vehicles and would not be refunded. I am not sure how the valet and Oumou got this wrong, but her response to us left us feeling as if she believed we were lying to us. As for the food/beverage, we went to breakfast each morning. Each morning, there was consistently little to no food, plates, or glasses. The hotel was refilling it in small quantities, however the entire restaurant was waiting and the food, plates, and glasses were quickly depleted after being replenished. Multiple times we asked for water for the table, it took 2-4 times of asking for each request to get anything from a server. My hotel room had stains on the curtains and on the sofa, it was gross and we avoided that part of the room. This was reported after the stay to Oumou at the front desk without response. The hotel was suppose to pass out bags for the wedding we came in for at check-in, none of my family for the 3 rooms I had booked received the bags that contained a schedule and various items from the bride and grooms family. We found out about the bags after the wedding.
My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. It was fantastic. It's a beautiful hotel with a friendly staff. We had some things we needed to leave for our family to pick up the next day and they were super helpful in allowing us to do it. Breakfast was spectacular. We talked about the hashbrown casserole for a week. Great place to stay downtown Birmingham.
I would recommend this place to anyone who visits the Birmingham area!! Great stay!! Staff was very hospitable and the location of this hotel was perfect for me. Traffic was not heavy on the nearby streets.
My husband and I stayed at the Redmont May 2019 and for the price you pay the accommodations are inadequate, no swimming pool, no laundry facilities, no refrigerator or microwave in the room and we had a King Superior Room. The rooftop service was poor as the bartender would not bring the drinks outside therefore we had to go back and forth to order and pick up our drinks. The room did not even have a place to hang our towels, they have no robes or slippers. Housekeeping came at 0800 in the morning, why would they come that early. The customer service however was excellent.
Great location, the room was a little boring, could use more decorating. Otherwise it was clean, comfortable. The windows do not open, that was disappointing. Lobby is nice, hip; great drinks and bartenders. Rooftop if great for views of the city and relaxing, an umbrella or two up there would be great as the sun gets strong up there.
