I had a large, king room and stayed for nearly three weeks while on business. My average cost per night with tax was over $137/night. There are less expensive options with newer hotels in the area. The internet was slow, and many times wouldn't work at all. I had to connect to the hotel wifi next door. The cable for the tv would fade in and out. I had to turn the tv off and on every 10-15 minutes to get a signal. Besides fast food, the only two acceptable restaurants nearby are Cracker Barrel and Applebee's. I recommend staying closer to Tuscaloosa and having more options for dining.

Overall this location was adequate. The sheets were clean and the bedding was comfortable. The shower had good pressure and was hot. The front desk staff upon checking in was friendly and pleasant, checkout was very indifferent. Breakfast was lacking... had to wait a while on the eggs, sausage was undercooked, no cinnamon rolls at all, and the juice was tinted water. The breakfast staff were sitting at tables doing paperwork, they were very friendly but not very attentive to replenishing the food items. The most disturbing thing about our stay was someone opened our door and placed our bill inside the door jamb. This was done despite a very large gap at the bottom of our door for sliding it under as most hotels do, it was locked and the do not disturb sign was out. This is not professional or acceptable and is an invasion of privacy. So, you may want to request ahead of time that your bill be placed under the door.

We stayed here on an overnight trip to Savannah. Hotel was very clean and we did not have one problem except the stopper in the sink didn't work. Which seems about par for practically any hotel you go to. The breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn breakfast and was not good or bad but it was free! Easy on off the interstate and a lot of restaurants around it. I would definitely stay here again.

Stopped here to rest overnight after our drive from Southern Mississippi to Birmingham. We are rewards members, so made a point to stop at this hotel. They checked us in faster than I could put my bags down and we went right up to our rooms. The beds were soft, the bathrooms very clean (and full of bath and body works products!), plenty of towels and aesthetically pleasing. The hotel felt modern and full of lovely amenities, considering the fact that it's just an express hotel. The breakfast was warm and fresh, with lots of options which filled us up for our trip back to Indianapolis. The location is great, right off of the interstate and close to a Wal-Mart for any last second items you forgot.

We stopped here while my husband is working in the area. When we walked in to check in no one was at the desk, we waited for about 5 minutes (no big deal, but) the clerk didn’t even greet us. My husband had to tell her we had a reservation. He asked if they had any “upgrade” due to him being a spire member. She stated an abrupt NO they were booked. She said sorry but you have a 1st floor room. My husband asked if there was another room on a higher floor due to the last hotel we were at the people above us were stomping at 5:00 am. She said no and even went as far as to tell us Mr. **** is alone so we shouldn’t have a problem. Really? She shouldn’t have told us the name of other guests. But the hotel smells old, luckily I carry Lysol with me to freshen up the room. We checked out the next morning and went to another Holiday Inn the next city up (Hoover) Much better choice, more friendly staff, more food options and shopping/movie theater close by.

We used our rewards points to stay here overnight so you know we have stayed at a number of hotels like this to have enough points to have a free night. We were put in a room right beside the elevator! If you have guests using points, give them a room in your best location! However, the whole hotel was quiet during our stay so it was pleasant. The elevator noise ended up not being a problem after all. Breakfast that I ate was good, but I chose the cereal because the sausage and biscuits looked very dried. The shower here was refreshing and we had a restful night after a busy travel day. Location was good. We went to the Mercedes Benz auto plant tour and it was an easy drive of about 20 minutes to get there from this hotel. There were a number of eating places close to the hotel.... some within walking distance. Recommended hotel if you find yourself needing a hotel near Birmingham (Bessemer is SE).

We have been traveling for the past couple of months and this was a pleasant surprise. Clean and fresh room, *awesome* shower, terrific staff. This is not a fancy upscale type of place, but it checks all the boxes and made for a quiet and relaxing night. Enthusiastic recommendation.

Our family stayed in 3 rooms over the weekend. We had great interaction with the front desk, breakfast, and housekeeping staff. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We gathered as a family on the outside patio, the breakfast / community area, and by the pool.

The rooms was nice and clean and up to date the hotel is in a good area right off the interstate and walking distance to eating places and shopping places up the street they have a indoor pool the staff was nice and friendly will stay again

My husband, our 5 year old, and I stayed in a jacuzzi suite for a night while visiting family. The beds are seriously the most comfortable ever! The room was super comfortable and spacious. Heat and AC worked well. The bathroom is very new—jacuzzi soooooo nice to relax in! We enjoyed swimming in the indoor heated pool as well as relaxing outside in the courtyard. All staff members were very courteous and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was super tasty and there was a lot to choose from. The lady running the breakfast was right on top of everything and was super friendly. This hotel is close to lots of fast food, sit down restaurants, stores, and churches. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in town.
