Staff at desk rude and ignored customers. Never let us know our room was ready until we kept asking. They told us they would text us and didn’t until we were already at the desk. Food tasted old at morning buffet. The halls were dirty with paper all over the floor. The staff at front desk didn’t speak or ask if they could help the customers. They never said thank you

Roomy, large suites with great restaurant and Bar on the property

I took my 11 yo + 3 friends for her bday. She was ecstatic. The lobby & outside the room was dingy. It smelled funky & the carpets need a deep clean. The evening reception had food everywhere & felt dirty. The pool was freezing and the hot tube was cold with way too many people crammed in it. no clean towels. Our room was gross. All the lamp shapes had seen better days - One was even broken and didn’t sit properly on the lamp. There were stains on the walls & in the bathroom ceiling & yellow stains in the bathtub the looked like someone had urinated in it. The bedquilts were wrinkled. The phone was disgusting with crud all over it. I didn’t even want to touch it! I think it was supposed to be off white? The mini fridge in the cabinet was broken, so there was another working fridge just sitting out by the cabinet. We used the pull out couch and discovered food underneath when folding it out. Possibly a really old piece of pizza? Gross. It took over an hour to get a bed roll for the fold out. Our air conditioner was broken! We called engineering and they never showed up. And yes, I followed the instructions on how to turn it on. It didn’t work. We had OK room service food (way over priced) We didn’t go to sleep until mindnight but when we did, it was horribly hot & the noise outside the room was ridiculous. People were yelling & just plain loud. Cannot believe we paid this much for it. I stayed positive for her and didn’t want to ruin it by focusing on the negatives.

I stayed there with my new boys ages 3 and 4 and Everyone as so kind and nice to us! We got to feed the koi fish and experience all th amentities of the hotel! We will for sure be planning on stàying at the hotel again!

We arrived and there were no carts to be had in the hotel so we had to wait downstairs. The staff did go looking for one which was helpful. When we got to the room, lights were broken and the sink was clogged up. We ordered room service and I came quick but without any water. I called a handful of times and was never able to get anyone on the phone. Overall the staff was nice but the hotel was a disappointment.

Maid didn’t leave towels or replenish coffee. Didn’t make bed. That was odd.

Nice hotel. When more than one person occupies a room., sufficient towels and complimentary liquids( coffee) should be supplied each day in the room. The breakfast was excellent.

I don't usually leave reviews. If I don't like a hotel, I just won't go back. But in this instance, I felt it was necessary to let people know what they are getting themselves into. Embassy Suites used to have a great reputation which is why I felt confident booking this hotel for our trip. However, numerous problems with the hotel and our room will keep me from ever booking another stay here again. Here are a list of problems we encountered: 1. The hotel needs a renovation and facelift. Garbage was overflowing out of the receptacle next to the entrance to the hotel and the same was true for the receptacle inside the lobby. 2. The hotel does not provide two Queens. It is two full size beds, or one King. We were traveling with two teenage boys. And the hotel does not have roll aways. My fault...I should have checked first, but I travel a lot and I have never encountered this problem. 3. Our room: wall paper peeling from walls, broken door handles, only one small trash receptacle, shower that doesn't drain, toilet that runs and runs, musty smell, no safe for valuables, outlets that don't work, housekeeping did not clean our room, make up our beds or bring us clean towels. 4. Free breakfast: ran out of plates and tables. We sat at a bench to eat. Food was standard free breakfast fare, minus the usual waffles or pancakes. It was a horrible experience. The price of our stay was not commensurate with what we got. Next time will stay at a Holiday Inn or Marriott.

very nice stay!! Friendly service, clean rooms, the best you can ask for!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that are going to visit the Birmingham area.

The staff was extraordinarily friendly, but that was the highlight of our hotel stay. The room was clean on the surface (carpet, sheets, bathroom), but there was visible trash under some of the furniture. Also, there were items left by previous guests in a corner of the room. Finally, we always check the mattress for bedbugs, and it was pretty dirty under the sheets & pad. The breakfast was really good, and the woman running the omelet stand was a superstar. She had 10 omelets going at once, and this made the line go relatively quickly. The staff assigned to cleaning the tables after guests were finished eating was very friendly, and they cleared the tables as soon as someone left. However, they didn't wipe the tables down, at least consistently. Our table had crumbs and a liquid on it. Finally, the drink fountain was absolutely disgusting. I poured some juice for my kids, and there were visible chunks floating around. There was something about the size of a dime floating in the apple juice. I'm not sure if these are cleaned regularly. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the pool because there were about 40 kids running around and screaming. I walked into the pool room, and it sounded like I was under a jet in full after-burner. It was very loud. This isn't anybody's fault, but it was disappointing not being able to enjoy the pool. Overall, it was a decent stay, but from what we saw and experienced, the hotel really needs a good scrub down.

Having stayed at Embassy Suites before I already knew what to expect. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The bathroom sink plumbing was clogged up, the phone next to the bed didn't work, some of the lights in the room didn't work due to the bulbs being blown, there was trash on the floor when we checked in and it took room service too long to respond to our calls. The staff was very kind when you spoke with them though and didn't make you feel rushed or unimportant. It's unfortunate that the other aspects of the hotel weren't as good. With a slight facelift this hotel could be more presentable, the rooms could be more appealing and the overall stay would be much better.

We didn't have enough towels or bedding and it took over 2hrs to get more, plus we couldn't find a luggage cart had to carry everything.

Layout of the suite was great. three sinks and a nice separate sitting area. Very clean but showing its age here and there. Some rust on the light fixture in the bathroom. Breakfast was very good, but service was slow. We waited in line for 40 minutes on Saturday morning. More servers/cooks would be helpful. Location was great. Pool looked nice...indoor. Fitness center was OK, but the TV wouldn't come on, and some of the TV's on the machines would not work. Advertised free ear buds at main desk, but they were "out."

My friend and I arrived from an overnight flight from CA at 7am exhausted and ready for a nice room and some rest. We paid for the room for the night before so we could check in with no delay. When we got into our room they must have done some sheet-rock work in the bathroom and there was dust everywhere. It was FILTHY! We also found a screw on the carpet along with some contact lenses. We then had to wait over an hour for another room to be available and that one was clean but needed lots of deferred maintenance. When we came back from Talladega on Sunday night they didn't leave us any clean towels. We had to call down twice to finally get some clean towels.

It is very dirty, the only good thing was breakfast
