The manager, Johnie, was the most strange person we've ever encountered in a hotel.
What a weird experience... She kept us standing at the desk for 45 mins, without any kind of explanation. The best I can describe it was "getting punked". Then she, with a continued balnk face, just grabbed her keys, hung up the phone that she was using to apparently help another guest, and left the building. People in line behind us, who were similarly ignored this whole time, were also left in the lurch, and understandably frustrated. So, what could we do? We found an alternative hotel in town.
On the plus side, the next morning we called and explained to the day-manager what happened, and she was both kind and helpful, and refunded our prepaid room fee since we didn't actually get to stay the night.
Usually the H.I. franchises have been mostly good experiences for us...but this was such an off-putting experience that it merited mentioning.
