Hotel Indigo Berlin – Alexanderplatz4.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is nice although the rooms are not the biggest. The location on Alex is very easy to get to from HBF and airports. The rooms have have a very nice design and WiFi works flawlessly. Breakfast is great, many things to choose from, can sustain every need. Service is good, receptionists are nice and helpful. The minuses is that the minibar is paid in addition and the street can be quite noisy because of trams.
This hotel is a great hotel near everything in Berlin. We arrived by plane so we took TXL bus, $2.80euros, 45min to Alexanderplatz and walk 3min to Indigo Hotel, so it's very easy to get here. Our room was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We didn't use exercise room but it looked well equipped. Hop in Hop off meeting point also walking distance to hotel. I will stay again at hotel Indigo.
Spent 3 nights here staff at desk were helpful and friendly and allowed us to check in really early which was great the rooms are modern clean and have everything you need we ate once in restaurant and meal was really good all in all a fantastic hotel in the heart of Alexanderplatz where there is vast array of bars restaurants shops and a stones throw from all the sights would definitely recommend and we will look forward to coming back
We went to Berlin for a conference and we stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Good point of this hotel is its location, which is great. Close to the main tourist attractions, few minutes walking from the metro station. Bad points are the size of rooms, which are too small. Additionally, staff are not helpful, they aren't helpful with visitors.
This hotel is not only beautiful, the staff are welcoming and even take the time to find out your interests and circle on a map where they recommend you to go (at 2am). The hotel bar is lovely and not over priced. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but I'm sure it was lovely. I'm very fussy when it comes to hotels. The hotel rooms here were decorated lovely. Very clean. The beds were massive, so comfortable and you get two quilts encase the person your sharing with steals the covers. The bathroom was big, modern and clean. They provide you with Aveda samples to wash with which is a nice little touch. You are a few minutes walk from the town centre and so close we could see the TV tower from our room. We visited the TV tower during our stay. If you want the full experience dine as your view is better but the food isn't worth what you pay but the experience is. I would also recommend hiring bikes out. You can find there's outside the hotel and around the city. If your coming Berlin for the Christmas markets and you're like me you have probably read and googled lots of reviews of where is best to stay for Christmas markets. Yes Berlin does have a fair few Christmas markets staying here there was a Christmas market 3 mins walk away. This market has ice skating, traditional food, stall to buy presents, traditional beer and hot wine cabins and rides. You are also 3 mins walk into the town centre where you can pick up any items you may have forgotten, go for dinner, drinks or get trains and trams to other places. You are also a few minutes away from a traditional bar/ restaurant called Hofbrau Munchen Berlin this is a must. We stumbled across this on our first night and they give you massive beers and traditional food. Another must is visiting Burgermeister, The Berlin Wall and Holocaust memorial all of which aren't too far from you.
Being staying here for 4 nights and it's a real find - location (not in a most scenic area, but right next to history and everything), staff so friendly and helpful, dining room top notch, and great bedrooms. Great transport connections by train, tram, bus to everywhere and the airport. Definitely recommend and come back again.
Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend on 7th floor in Deluxe room on corner building looking down on Bernhard Weiss Strasse. Great city view over to the TV tower. Hotel had the feel of an efficient clean business type hotel. Staff polite and friendly always happy to help. Room (727) was clean, basic, quite sufficient and decorated in a trendy retro style with wooden type floor (no carpet) large standing wet room with fresh towels everyday. Breakfasts were great with a full range of English breakfast options, meats, breads cereals fruit and cakes. The coffee at the table was strong filter coffee and we had to ask for a latte. Staff were more than willing to help. Hotel located in great area in the old East of the city with good access to Alexanderplatz, the Fernsehturm, Hackescher Markt. A good base location. My only gripe about our stay were the noisy trams which we could hear with the windows shut running into the early hours and start again early in the morning. That said I did find myself getting used to it by the second night but Bernhard Weiss Strasse is a Tram street and not so much a vehicular one. Hotel is a good base and good value for money.
We had part of the best service in this hotel. Got upgraded to the top floor, got early check in and a welcome drink. The room is beautiful, very cosy and the view on Alexanderplatz is just amazing. You can see the city in different styles, both day and night. On our next visit, will definitely choose Indigo.
We stayed 4 nights using points, and stayed in room 927, on the ninth floor. My husband is a spire elite member. We were on an Anniversary trip and loved Berlin. The room was, apparently, the Blue Room, and had a Blue Man Group stencil on the wall, not really sure why! It was a good room, on a corner, so windows all the way round, with views across to Alexanderplatz and the TV tower. Very convenient for all public transport and walking distance to bars, shops and some restaurants. The bathroom was large, with a level access shower. Good toiletries provided. All clean and well maintained. Kettle, tv, safe all as standard. Kettle tended to click off before it boiled, so needed watching. The room was a little noisy, even on the 9th floor we could hear the tram rumbling past until late on, plus other city sounds. Another negative, for me, was the lack of drawers. The bed side tables and desk did not have any, so nowhere to put small items to hand, for example medications, books etc. There was an offer to skip a room clean and get a €5 voucher for the bar, so we skipped a day, but never received the voucher! Also no dressing gowns and slippers proved, which are on the booking description. We have stayed in several Hotel Indigo's before and do know that they vary, in fact that is part of the charm. However, in all the others we have had a complementary mini bar with simple items - soft drinks, beer, chocolate, crisps etc. I was then quite shocked to be charged on checking out for the few items we had drunk, just water and one coke. I hadn't seen a price list in the room, and given past experience was not expecting this. I was just glad we hadn't had more! I don't mind paying but this really should be made clearer, and meant that my final experience at the hotel was the lowest note. Hence the 3/5.
This was a perfectly situated hotel for exploring Berlin, near to all the major sights and some great bars and restaurants. Our room was on the small side, but it was nicely decorated and contained everything we needed, including a decent shower. However, it was a bit warm, as the hotel's central heating system was still on and we weren't able to override this with the in-room temperature control. Breakfast was good - a wide choice and never too packed even though the hotel was obviously busy. The bar area was also nice for a drink in the evening before heading out. The staff were welcoming and friendly and special thanks must go to the receptionist when we checked out. Another guest had tried to stick six gin and tonics on our room bill - we're assuming they must have overheard us say our room number as we left the bar the previous night - but the receptionist knocked these off our bill with no quibbles when we pointed out what had happened. All in all a great stay and we would certainly consider staying here again if we return to Berlin.
