This hotel has undergone a total refurb and is as new. Very good quality fit out, very welcoming lobby, staff were pleasant and friendly. Beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent with plenty of healthy choices
I think the review score is low because this was before the remodel. We checked in yesterday and have been so impressed. Our room for starters is huge! We a balcony overlooking the mountains. We have a full service kitchen with range, fridge/freezer, keurig, microwave. Very comfortable bed! Easy walk to downtown. Good fitness center and a great free breakfast with protein options. I'm so glad we changed to the Spruce. I'm so impressed so far.
I booked this hotel through Hotwire so the price was great (also offseason). My adult daughter and I just wanted a little overnight trip but I would stay here multiple nights for sure. The staff were very friendly and the underground parking is a nice touch. Note that there is a small, somewhat camouflaged code box near the top of the ramp which we missed on our first go-round and had to go back in and ask where it was, haha. Comforting to know we weren't the only ones as we saw by the car in front of us on our second attempt. The room (324) was just perfect! Loved the set up, decor, cleanliness, comfy beds, space, balcony, fridge, microwave and coffee machine. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in recently. The view was really nice and traffic noise and bus noise doesn't bother me at all but if it does, maybe ask for a different room. The tour buses seem to start at 6:30 am out front. We walked a short distance to a choice of several nice restaurants for dinner and chose Chili's. We would absolutely stay here again!
While in Banff we only stay a night here at this nice and cosy hotel. Love the comfortable room with coffee maker n microwave. Nice views from our room over seeing the mountains. Staff are friendly and helpful. A mini coffee place at the hotel lobby. Will love to stay here again.
We have just started at the Spruce and I found it was spacious, clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I was disappointed with the 2 paper cups along with the plastic ones in the washroom...Is this the norm.....First hotel I’ve stayed in with these. I wanted a cup of tea.....No jug to heat the water.....So coffee....no milk....sugar...no no stirrers.......wine......no glasses.... Rang reception they sent up glasses and milk....Great service.
Very nice and cozy hotel. The room was very nicely done, with free wifi. Breakfast is simple.Customer service was great, all the staff really friendly and helpful. Hotel is well located near end of Banff Avenue , a 15 minute walk to town
It's very clean and nice place parking lot was great! I booked for 4nights but I had to leave day before and thy let check out without charging extra money which is nice of them! Location wise very nice too! I definitely recommend to stay!
The staff could not be more helpful, excellent experience at the front desk, the rooms a big, clean, modern, great bed, all you want, its the breakfast that lets the hotel down, not the food but the paper plates and plastic knifes and forks, 4* accommodation with a 1* breakfast set up, could easily be sorted by using proper plates, glasses (not plastic) and proper knifes and forks. You would have got 5 stars from if it wasn't for the paper plates Hotel is well located near end of Banff Ave (about 1k walk to main town) car park is good
The Inn has a nice feel to it- a combination of rustic and industrial log cabin, everything is neat and new and overall it certainly has a lot more atmosphere than your standard lodge/hotel. The room was very nicely done, with a lovely balcony. I spent 4 nights here and a night at the nearby Irwins Inn and thought the spruce grove was definitely MUCH better, at the same price. Breakfast - the pro is it is included in the price and simple decent fare - the con - it is a little TOO basic, can certainly be made better. Runny oatmeal (no nuts or anything else to add to it other than milk), out of the box fruit juices and coffee/tea, yogurt, some bread and muffins. Fried potatoes were often cold. There was some sausage and boiled eggs. OK if you want to grab a quick bite before a hike, but not much more. Also plastic cutlery and plates ??? Really not ok for a lodge that claims to 'love nature' and be environmentally friendly. Customer service was great, all the staff really friendly and helpful. Parking is underground, secure and adequate.
Lobby and breakfast area with modern, natureinspired deco and furniture. Rooms modern and with a fresh smell of wood. A balcony with a view to spruce trees. Breakfast is OK. Pool is outdoor in the neighboor hotel. Parking underground on the property.
