We truly enjoyed our stay at Canalta. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet made our mornings very easy. I had the best cup of hot chocolate there! All spaces are extremely clean and well-maintained. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Canalta is definitely our first choice for a place to stay for future trips to Banff.

Front desk staff should be educated on how to accommodate guests appropriately and correctly based on the unsafe conditions in the rooms and the number of guests.The client was injured in an unsafe room. The most serious problem is that the customer told the front desk staff that there was an unsafe problem in the room, but you ignored him and emphasized that there had never been a problem.

We have stayed here before, but the complimentary breakfast was very disappointing. We have had this type of breakfast at other hotels, but the Canalta Banff was by far the worst. No fruit, powdered eggs were disgusting and oatmeal was so watery. This is not a cheap hotel and to top it off you pay for parking. They could do better.

We got a balcony room and it was a quaint little stay for 3 of us. The balcony was small but the windows that opened were a nice touch. The location is great, parking is cheap in a heated garage though it is tiny. The only thing we would recommend is an overhead light in the room as it was super hard to get ready etc without the curtains up or after sun down. Could also use a fan to circulate air as if the air or heater doesn't need to be on, the room gets stale.

The room and bathroom were of adequate size. The mattress was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The underground parking had enough space for medium to large SUVs and was secured.

Breakfast provided was convenient but same items every day. Hotel is far from Banff downtown … but public transportation very convenient and affordable. S’mores offered every afternoon!

We booked this hotel primarily because it had a gym. It's a older hotel in good location, providing free breakfast, the staff was friendly, however we found that the room and bathroom had very poor lighting which at times became very annoying. We will probably not stay at this hotel next time due to the lighting.

The stay was good, staff very courteous, however not good value for money. We paid $1800 for two adults and one teenager in one room and it was definitely not a $600 per night property. There was an issue with the cleanliness of our room at check-in but the staff resolved this ASAP and gave me a discount to compensate for the inconvenience. The last day we spent out on day trips all day, and when we returned at 5pm, our room had not been serviced. I was told that housekeeping focussed on checkouts first. Overall the property is nice and the surroundings lovely, staff very helpful and courteous, however I would not spend this much on it again.

The hotel all together was great. The bar downstairs was definitely a perk. However, only complaint is that the bathrooms in the room don’t have a fan so it got stuffy and smelled almost a little mildew-y. But it was definitely walking distance to the stores and restaurants if you’re up for a little bit of a walk. We had no problem finding free street parking during the week.
