the room normally does not get clean until 4pm. its kind frustrating especially after a day of hike you come home hoping to see a clean room. we have to go out again, and hope our room will get clean.

You must be able and ready to park a block away for this hotel. Small rooms typical size of years ago with wonderful decor and conveniences. Great location.

Excellent staff! Great location! Clean. Not real fancy but everything you need

This is on the corner of the main streets in Banff so you are walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. At night we could here some of the loud people on the street. The room was small but it had what we needed and we didn't spend too much time in there anyway. There is no continental breakfast, jacuzzi, or workout room. It really is just rooms that make up this hotel. If you want good location and don't don't mind being on the main street and don't really care about amenities than I would suggest this place.

It was hard to locate with only one small entrance door. Had to park in parking ramp and haul luggage up stairs and down a busy street. Room was small and we could easily hear people in the hallways and through the walls.

King Edward fit all our needs for our Banff vacation. We loved the central downtown location, which allowed us to walk to all of our destinations, including the train station (for the free Lake Louise shuttle) and our favorite trails (Tunnel Mountain, Bow River, Fenland Loop, etc.). We did not pay for any transportation (other than Brewster round trip airport shuttle). Upon arrival, we appreciated the complimentary snacks and water! And though there's no fancy amenities, the rest of Banff can help with that (e.g. I loved my massage at the nearby Cedar & Sage). We would definitely stay here again!

Parking is a problem when it rains. They don't even give an umbrella.

Room was clean. Dated finishes a little rough but comfortable. Location and price Couldn't be beat.

I stayed for three days in January 2013, in the middle of the week. The noise was tolerable (the window was opened during the night), except for the last night when a loud group of people showed up and ''partied in the hallways'' until 4:00am :-( Here are the positives I found about the hotel: location (right on Banff street, in the middle of everyting), price, cleanliness, the fact that everything you need is there (a small fridge, a shower with hot water, a big TV screen and a confortable bed). The temperature was a little warm in the room, so I opened a window. Parking is a bit of a pain, because it is located behind the hotel, and you had to walk outside to get to your car. I found the heated parking (at $5 a night) was a good investment though, instead of parking on the street or use free parking (which only lasts 5 or 12 hours) For the price I paid, I appreciated staying at the King George. I will definitely come back, especially when one considers the price of everything in Banff!!

Hotel is on good place. It´s this small, but for me and my wife fully sufficient. We are not demanding. We were here during our first visit to Canada. Hotel is Economy class and is the corresponding.
